Tumblr media
It’s a rare occasion that one hears Bob Floyd before seeing him, but you suppose your getting into a car accident is a special enough occasion.
Things feel hazy–– with two broken wrists and a broken leg, you’ve been given quite the painkiller. You’re not sure how long you’ve been awake, exactly, but it can’t have been very long. There’s a digital clock on a small table next to your hospital bed, but your neck is too sore to turn far enough over to see it. A thick wooden door is shut against the buzz of the floor outside: the ringing of phones, the click of computer keys, and the clatter of patients being wheeled to and from scans and tests and specialists.
Even amidst all that, the sound of Bob’s words cuts through. He’s raising his voice, you realize. That’s not like him.
“I’m sorry, sir,” the nurse says on the other side of the door, “but outside of visiting hours I can only admit family, and––”
“I am family,” he says, impatient.
“I understand that, but when a patient is separated––”
“Separated,” Bob interrupts, “not divorced. That is my wife and the mother of my child, so will you please let me see her?” It sounds much more like a demand than a question. The nurse sighs, clearly frustrated.
“Let me go speak to her.” She steps out from behind the counter and cuts Bob a severe look. “If she is awake, I’ll let her know you’re here. But given that rest is one of the most crucial things for her right now, I will not be waking her up. You can wait.”
“Thank you,” comes his clipped reply. The nurse approaches your room, only a few steps away from the front desk–– Bob would have just gone straight in, had he known— and when the door creaks open, he can be seen standing over her shoulder–– a respectful distance behind, at least.
“Ma’am, there’s someone here to see you,” she says. You can tell it’s taking everything Bob has not to run to you, but he’s smart enough to know that showing this nurse any more disrespect isn’t wise. “He says he’s your husband,” she continues, “but if you don’t want to see him, I can tell him to leave.”
“No, that’s okay,” you say, “he can come in.” She turns around only to discover Bob right behind her. He squeezes quickly past, murmuring a hurried thank you before practically flying to your bedside. All his frustration quickly dissipates as he leans over you, a deep furrow in his brow. Over his shoulder, you see the nurse shake her head, exasperated, and leave, shutting the door behind her.
“Hey honey,” Bob says, hand lifting to brush across your cheek, as if it’s two years ago and nothing has changed. “Are you alright? What happened?”
“I’m okay, Bobby,” you reply, tired. You surprise yourself, though, using his old nickname like that. Since you two broke up, you’ve only ever called him Bob. “Someone lost control of their car in the rain, apparently. You owe that nurse an apology.”
“And I’ll give her one later. First I need to know that you’re okay.”
“I just said that I’m okay,” you laugh softly. “Bob, I’m fine.” Reluctantly, he nods, leaning back to grab at a chair. He won’t even stand all the way up, refuses to take his eyes off you lest you run off somewhere else to nearly get yourself killed.
“How’s Charlie; is he with your parents?” You nod, heart clenching at the thought of your son, how distressed he must be right now.
“Yeah,” you say, voice getting a little watery. “Yeah, I got to talk to him a little while ago. He wants to come visit after my surgery tomorrow.” Bob’s brow furrows.
“Surgery?”
“Just my left wrist. The right one and the leg only need braces, but,” you sigh, “yeah, the left one took the door pretty hard, so.” He nods.
“How about your head? All okay up there, no bleeding?”
“I have a concussion, but that’s all. They know what they’re doing here, Bob. Don’t worry. I’m gonna be just fine.” He studies you for a moment, then sighs, nodding his head again. “Not so fun being on the other side of it, huh?” you say without thinking. It isn’t meant to be cutting, but blue eyes snap up to your face, a faint expression of shock on Bob’s features.
Still, you have a hard time feeling too guilty. How many times have the roles been reversed? How many times have you held your baby boy to your chest murmuring reassurances that you can’t promise are true? How many times has Bob been gone, unable to tell you he was okay or even alive? Or looked up at you under the harsh white light of a hospital room on base and told you there was nothing to worry about when you both knew that there was?
Bob schools his expression into something a little softer and gives a curt nod. You can’t decide if that was over the line. But that had always been the problem, hadn’t it?
Neither of you had known how easy it would be to push each other over their limits. You’d thought love and a thick skin would be enough to survive the looming fear of losing your husband. Bob had thought it would be easier to outrun the guilt he always felt leaving you behind, the way it weighed on his chest like an anvil. Eventually, your wounds were rubbed raw and his ribs began to crack beneath the pressure.
The times when he was home were supposed to be precious, but they had become tense, uncomfortable. It wasn’t good for either of you, and it certainly wasn’t good for three-year-old Charlie. Splitting up had been the best choice, even though it pained you both to admit it.
Bob had been adamant about a separation rather than a divorce. Ex-spouses of the military were still entitled to some benefits, but for Charlie’s sake and yours he wanted to remain legally married. You’d both agreed that if you met other people and got serious enough, a divorce would be back on the table. It hadn’t been the easiest decision, but now, laying in a hospital bed, you can’t help but feel grateful. And how many people can say their ex husband came rushing to their side in an emergency?
Regret is already creeping up across your skin.
“I’m sorry,” you say softly, reaching to touch the back of his hand. Your fingers brush awkwardly against his skin where they protrude from your brace, but you can see the gesture means something to him–– his eyes shine a little sadly when he looks at you. He gives a faint shake of his head.
“S’okay. Me too.”
Tumblr media
Despite your best efforts to persuade him otherwise, Bob stays the night in your room, sleeping with his legs slung across a second chair the nurses had been kind enough to provide for him. (He’d apologized to the nurse he spoke to when he arrived, and she’d taken it rather graciously, all things considered. In her place, you’re pretty sure you would have had him thrown out.) You fall asleep fairly easily, exhaustion having taken its toll, but you wake up in the wee hours needing the bathroom. You press the call button, hoping it won’t wake your sleeping companion, but Bob rouses when Jermaine, one of the nurses, comes in. The whole bathroom song and dance is a process you certainly don’t enjoy, but you’ve gotten used to it over the past several hours.
“Can’t get enough of me, huh?” Jermaine quips, walking to your bedside.
“I keep guzzling water when he’s not looking,” you say, nodding towards a still groggy Bob. Jermaine only laughs and pulls back the covers.
“All right, ready?”
“Yep.” You grimace as he braces his hands beneath your armpits to help lift you up enough to get into your wheelchair. You sigh as Jermaine rolls you to the bathroom and braces an arm around your waist to help you onto the toilet. The door stands open, but you’re too drained to care–– besides, this isn’t anyone’s first rodeo.
You don’t see the way Bob’s eyes widen with worry. How he watches each maneuver carefully, filing it away in the back of his mind. The decision had been made before he walked through the door, really, but seeing you struggle only cements it. He doesn’t say anything as Jermaine helps you back to bed–– only a quiet thank you as the nurse leaves the room. He can talk to you about his plan tomorrow.
Tumblr media
A low murmur of voices filters into your consciousness as you wake that morning, your eyes flickering open to see Bob standing with Dr. Alvarado, who will be performing your surgery. She notices you shifting in your bed and comes to your side, Bob following suit on the opposite, returning to his seat.
“Good morning, Mrs. Floyd,” she says warmly, “how are we feeling?” Your mouth is dry and you swallow thickly before responding.
“I’ve been better,” you rasp, wincing at the scrape of your voice. Bob is holding out a cup of water before you even have a moment to think, and you start to reach for it before faltering. In the fog of waking up, you’d almost forgotten.
“I’ve got it,” he says quietly, bringing it to your lips. You drink, far too worn out to protest.
“Your procedure is scheduled for 12:30 this afternoon. It’s about 8:15 right now. That’ll give you some time to rest before pre-op. I’ve also been told you have a special visitor, if you feel up for it.” Your heart lifts, and you can’t help but look expectantly up at Bob.
“Charlie?”
The hopeful lilt of your voice splinters something in his heart. He smiles, tight-lipped but genuine all the same, and nods.
“Uh-huh. I know you said the plan was post surgery, but your mom called saying they were up and ready to go. I figured you’d want to see him.”
“Yeah,” you say, voice high and thin, “yeah I’d like that.” Dr. Alvarado smiles.
“I’ll let them know. They’re all very anxious to see you.” You nod, tears slipping down your cheeks. Ordinarily, you try not to let Charlie see you crying. With the separation, you’ve been doing everything you can to be his rock. You remember how scary it was when you were a child to see your parents upset, or worse, hurt. But today, you don’t know if you’ll quite be able to manage it. Gracelessly, you swipe at the tears on your cheeks, but before long, Bob is at the ready again, tissue box extended toward you. You nod your thanks and clasp one in between your fingers. Blotting is much easier.
You’ve just about gotten it together when the door opens again.
“Mommy?” Charlie calls, and you hate how you can hear the frightened tremble of his voice. He makes it a few steps over the door jamb when he sees Bob.
“Daddy!” For a heartbreaking moment, wide eyes dart between the both of you, unsure of where to run.
“Go say hi to Daddy, sweetheart,” you say, heart swelling to see the reunion. Charlie beams and runs directly into Bob’s arms.
“Hey, big man!” he says, scooping Charlie off the ground in a strong embrace. “I missed you so much, little bear.” He presses a big kiss to your son’s cheek and is rewarded with a delighted giggle that has you crying again. Hurriedly, you dab at your eyes once more.
Your parents enter the room behind Charlie, your mother’s smile wavering and your dad’s brow furrowed. The braces make hugs awkward, but your parents’ presence is an enormous comfort.
“Charlie’s been very brave,” your father informs you. “And we’re all very glad you’re okay.”
“Me too,” you say wetly, wishing you could hold their hands. “I love you guys.”
You cast a glance over to your left, where Bob and Charlie are engaged in conversation, faces close together and voices hushed. Watching Bob parent has always made your heart ache, even now when things have fallen apart. He was meant to be a father, plain and simple. People who don’t know him might expect a Navy man to be gruff, tough on a child, especially a son. But Bob is all gentleness when it comes to your Charlie. He is patient and invested and even though you two aren’t together, it’s difficult to imagine parenting Charlie with anyone else.
You tear your gaze away to talk with your parents, explaining what happened and asking about how Charlie has been coping over the course of the last few hours.
A few feet away, Bob has his son cradled close in his arms.
“I was really scared,” Charlie confides in him, “but I gotta be brave for Momma.” Bob’s heart breaks just a little, and he smooths a hand over Charlie’s hair. Perhaps this instinct to protect is just built into the little boy– knowing you and Bob, that’s a distinct possibility. But Bob can’t help but worry it’s a result of the split.
“You don’t have to be brave for Momma, honey,” he says softly. “That’s our job. Parents get to be strong for their kids, not the other way around. It’s okay to be scared when someone is hurt. And it’s also okay to express that. Especially with me and Mommy. And being strong doesn’t mean you can’t feel your feelings. In fact, being able to feel your feelings is a part of what makes a person strong, because some feelings are really hard.” Charlie listens to his father with rapt attention–– he always has. “But it’s important not to ignore them. Does that make sense?” He nods sagely when Bob is done talking.
Bob can’t help but smile, heart swelling with affection. It’s moments like these when he thinks he could leave it all if it meant getting to spend every second of every day with his baby boy.
“Should we go say hi?” he asks, bouncing Charlie gently against his hip. Charlie nods, his gaze flickering over to you.
Though you’re talking with your parents, you can’t take your eyes off of your son. Call it selfish, but ever since you’d been able to think straight you’ve wanted nothing more than to see him. You’re reaching out for him the second Bob starts towards you, but he gives you a look.
“With your leg?” he asks quietly, even though Charlie is right there in his arms.
“I still got one good one,” you quip,” and I think a hug is gonna help me get better much quicker. Besides, all my problems are below the knee— I’ll be fine.”
Bob has always had trouble saying no to you.
“Be gentle, okay bud?” Charlie nods.
Carefully, he sets Charlie down in your lap, positioning him mostly on your uninjured right leg.
“Hi baby,” you beam, the pain you’re in practically forgotten. “I’m so happy to see you!” Charlie snuggles immediately into your chest, eyes impossibly big when they look up at you. Tucking him under your arm is awkward, but you do it anyway.
“Hi Mommy,” he says quietly, like he’s afraid talking too loudly will hurt you.
“Hi,” you say again, matching his hushed voice, smile wider than it’s been for the duration of your stay. Bob stands slightly off to the side, feeling a little bit like an intruder. Still, he can’t help but watch the way your eyes sparkle when you look at your son. He’s never seen anything like it.
A gentle hand on his shoulder catches his attention, and he turns to see your mother, her expression warm. He counts himself incredibly lucky that your parents don’t hate him. Sometimes he hates himself for what happened, and yet they still treat him like one of their own. The three of them exchange hushed greetings, each thanking one another for taking care of the two of you.
Over in your hospital bed, you’re playing with the ends of Charlie’s hair. He’s been telling you about everything that happened between yesterday afternoon and now, cheerily informing you of how much he cried and how he got to choose what he and your parents had for dinner last night. You drink in every detail with enthusiasm, grateful as ever for his enormous heart and his resilience.
“I was really scared,” he says softly after a moment. You nod.
“I bet. I was scared too.”
“Daddy says it’s okay to be scared.”
“Daddy’s right, baby. It’s more than okay to be scared. It’s important— it’s how our brains keep us safe.”
“Really?”
“Uh-huh. You know how I’m scared of snakes?” Charlie nods. “Well, not every single snake is dangerous, right? But there are some that are. And because my brain remembers that some snakes are dangerous, I get a little scared when I see them. That fear is my brain telling me to be careful and stay safe.”
“So I was scared because it’d be dangerous if you got hurt?”
“Kind of! It can also be scary to not know what’s happening, right? Because if you don’t know what’s happening, it’s hard to get ready to deal with it. And it can be scary to know that something sad might happen, because it’s hard to feel sad.”
“I don’t like feeling sad,” Charlie says, nodding his understanding.
“Me neither, baby bear. But today I’m not even sad, because you’re here.” Your son’s cheeks turn pink and he hides your face in his chest. Heart swelling with fondness, you cross your arms over his back in an awkward embrace and press a kiss to the top of his head.
“Is it okay if I’m a little sad?” he asks, voice muffled by your hospital gown.
“Of course it is, sweetheart. You gotta feel your feelings. And feelings don’t last forever; they change all the time, right?”
“Right.”
Out of sight, Bob swipes a few tears from his eyes. He’s always proud of Charlie, but he’s proud of you, too–– with three limbs freshly out of working order, you would be well within your rights to be out of sorts, but there you sit, still parenting admirably. Beautifully, even. Your father squeezes Bob’s shoulder and he looks up, almost a little startled. Your father smiles and the two men exchange a nod.
Your mother steps over to your bed and pets a hand over Charlie’s hair.
“I think me and Grandpa are gonna go home for a little while, honey,” she says to him before looking at you and resting a hand on your shoulder. “Someone gave us a good scare yesterday and I don’t think either of us slept very well. We’re both a little worn out.” Suddenly, she seems to catch herself. “Unless you want us to stick around and––”
You shake your head and reach out an appreciative hand to cover hers.
“Go get some rest, Ma.” She nods.
“We will. But we’ll be back when you come out of surgery. Bobby told us he’d keep us updated.” Too tired to even think that far ahead, you nod.
“Thanks for looking after Charlie,” you say, tangling your fingertips with hers.
“Well, that’s my pleasure,” she says, pressing a loud kiss to her grandson’s cheek. “And we can figure out next steps, we’ll find someone—“
“Mom,” you say softly, “let's just— can we take things one step at a time for now?” She nods–– the anxiety of it all reads clear on your face.
“You know, you’re right. Let’s get you through surgery first.” You nod, grateful. “We’ll see you soon, then.” Your mother smiles and turns to get her bag. Charlie giggles as his grandfather comes over to playfully jostle his shoulders.
“Be good for your mom and dad, okay kiddo?” Charlie nods eagerly.
“That’s my guy,” your dad says fondly, giving your son a hug before turning his attention to you. “You give ‘em hell in there.”
“What,” you laugh, “in surgery? Dad, it’s just my wrist; I’m gonna be fine.” He shrugs.
“Can’t hurt though, right?” he says lightly, but you can see a glimmer of anxiety in his eyes. He leans down to kiss your cheek and you return the gesture.
“Right,” you affirm, softening. “I love you, Dad. I’m gonna be okay.” Your dad gives a final nod and links arms with your mother as they leave the room.
It’s so easy to forget that to him— to both your parents— you are still a child. Charlie is still so young, it feels impossible that he’ll ever be as old as you are now. Of course, you still marvel at the fact that he’s as big as he is; that he can walk and talk and do math equations and paint pictures. But it’s easier to manage how much he’s grown because you can still bundle him up in your arms and count on one hand how many birthdays he’s had. Maybe if you were having less of an emotional day, you’d be able to imagine what it’ll be like when he’s grown up, but you can feel tears welling up in your eyes again so you push the thought out of your mind.
“Mommy?” Charlie asks, bringing your attention back into the present.
“Mm?”
“Did Grandpa use a bad word because he’s very stressed?” Laughter sputters out of you before you can help it, and Bob raises an amused eyebrow.
“Yeah, baby,” you say, “I don’t think he was thinking very hard about which words he was choosing. He just meant that he wants my surgery to go well, that’s all.”
“It’s like telling someone to give it their all,” Bob explains, coming to sit down at your bedside again.
“It’s what Daddy does when he’s on a deployment,” you offer, curling your arm into something akin to a flexed muscle, “he gives ‘em heck.”
“And that’s what Momma’s body is gonna do when she’s in surgery. It’s gonna do everything it needs to do to keep her safe while she’s asleep.” Charlie looks between you two, worry creeping back into his features at the mention of the surgery.
“Hey,” you murmur, “I’m going to be okay, Charlie-bear. I promise. Sometimes things can go wrong during a surgery, but the likelihood of anything bad happening is very, very low.” Charlie nods, wide-eyed. “So there isn’t anything to worry about sweetheart. But it’s still okay to be scared, right?”
“Right,” comes his hushed reply. Your heart aches not to be able to soothe his anxiety, but you know there’s no sense in trying to talk him out of it–– especially in the wake of what you’ve been trying to teach him. Still, it seems to you that the rules shouldn’t apply to Charlie, with his delicate soul and enormous heart.
Bob lays a comforting hand on your son’s back and his little form immediately relaxes into the touch. The three of you sit in comfortable silence for a little while, but soon the door creaks open and Jermaine enters with a wheelchair.
“Is this Charlie?” he asks brightly.
“It is!” you chirp. The boy in question looks up shyly. “Charlie, this is my friend Jermaine. He’s been helping me since I got to the hospital.”
“Your mom is a tough lady,” Jermaine says warmly, squatting to be closer to Charlie’s eye level. “I promise we’re gonna take very good care of her.” Charlie nods.
“Pinkie promise?” he asks, heartbreakingly earnest. Jermaine smiles.
“You got yourself a deal.” He locks his pinkie with Charlie’s and stands up. “I’ve gotta take Mom for a couple of tests before her procedure, and then we’re gonna take her off to surgery. But you’ll get to see her in a few hours when she wakes up, okay champ?” Charlie holds on to you a little tighter and peers up at his dad, who nods encouragingly.
“Okay.”
“Mom is very lucky to have people that care about her so much,” Jermaine says. “You should be proud.” A little divot of determination forms between Charlie’s brows and he nods. Bob starts to stand and Charlie clambers around to give you one last hug.
“I love you Mommy,” he says. You squeeze him as tightly as you can and press a big kiss to his cheek.
“I love you too, baby bear. I’m gonna see you so soon, okay?”
“Okay,” he says, a heartbreaking waver in his voice. You give him another kiss before Bob scoops him up again, and before you know it, Jermaine is wheeling you off into the hospital halls.
Back in your room, Bob has Charlie wrapped up in a tight embrace.
“Everything’s gonna be okay, baby bear,” he coos, “everything’s gonna be okay.”

I'm sorry but knight! Nikolaï got me hORNY—
So just think about it: like, kinda a corruption kink but the other way around? The Princess being very, VERY MUCH INTO HIM and being like "damn Imma bang that man"
And Knight Nikolaï being loyal to his duties so he's trying to not understand or see her advances, but god damn his patience and will to stay professional are wearing thin just like the clothes of the princess seems to gradually become around him uhuh
ARGBLBLBLB HAND ME THE HOLY WATER RIGHT NOW
Tumblr media
Dear mother above—
Tumblr media
^^^ me and you walking to his room.
Tumblr media
Sir Nikolai isn’t a man that is unused to being fawned over. Women and men alike—nobles, citizens, who gives a shit—all want him. The man is literally sex on legs just LOOK at him. LORD.
The one person he’s surprised to find attracted to him, though, is you. Your royal highness. Aka the princess of Ravka and his personal charge. He takes his role of protecting you extremely seriously. He does a security sweep practically every time you enter a room. He keeps his eye out for any possible threats, always a step behind you. Always.
Yes he finds you pretty—who doesn’t—but the idea of sleeping with you goes against every moral fiber of his being.
It starts small when you realize you aren’t going to get your way with him at first.
DRABBLE UNDER THE CUUUUT
Tumblr media
Oh god he’s so beautiful anyways—
“Sir Nikolai.”
“Princess.”
You’re watching him from one of the chairs in your sitting-room as he works, sorting through some documents as you’re supposed to be reading. You literally cannot focus.
The rustling of papers and the occasional shift of his body in his chair are the only sounds occupying your rooms as of now and, to your chagrin, you can’t stop staring at his hands. The way his fingers run over the documents, the way he licks his thumb quickly to flip a page, good God.
Tumblr media
“I can feel you staring.” He says, not even sparing you a glance as he works. You scowl.
“I am not.”
He raises one eyebrow and you slump lower in your seat, face hot.
You’ve had a crush on your personal guard since pretty much forever and you know that he knows. He finds it entertaining to tease you sometimes; he’ll find excuses to help fix your hair, he holds your hand a bit longer than necessary when escorting you out of a carriage, and he especially enjoys the look on your face when you see him flirting with other women of the court.
Tumblr media
I picture his grin like this.
Also Elliot Knight is fucking gorgeous.
He just smiles at you from across the room and goes straight back into his conversation.
You know from gossip around the court that he’s an absolute god in bed. The maids—those damn gossips—all giggle and blush as they whisper about a night with him or someone they know, their voices not quiet enough to stop you from picking up a few details while they clean.
You want him. You want him so bad it makes you look STUPID.
If you’re going to get this man on top of under, behind, down low, up high, all the positions you then you’re going to have to start being a little bolder, sweetheart. You start small: staring more openly and forcing yourself not to look away when caught. Brushing against him when you walk by just to have an excuse to be close to him. Making comments out of the blue about how you’re just so bored and touch deprived.
Poor you.
He catches on instantly.
“Princess.” He starts one evening, watching you as you approach him clad in one of your adorable nightgowns that leave nothing to the imagination. Picture Aelin’s gold nightgown, HA. His teeth are grit so tightly that he can actually feel his jaw hurt as you walk by. “Where is your robe.”
Not a question. He knows exactly where your robe is because you left it on his bed after sneaking quickly through the shared door in your chambers. He’d made the mistake of telling you he’d be right back and you took your chance. You’d be giggling like a fiend when he knocked just now, eyes dark and expression unamused.
He didn’t bring the robe, though. Oddly enough.
“It’s too hot for a robe right now.” You lie, ignoring his annoyed stare as you pour yourself a glass of bourbon from a decanter. “Besides, this dress is new. Don’t you like it?”
“You forgot the rest of it.”
“This is the newest style!” You argue, grinning to yourself as you feel him watch your back. The material is thin as hell and Saints you look fucking magical in it.
Meanwhile Nikolai, behind you, is feeling warmer and warmer the longer you fix yourself a drink. His eyes roam across your bare skin, his blood burning in his veins as he watches the slight sway of your hips. He can imagine running his hands along those long legs of yours, skin soft under his fingers.
How responsive would you be for him? Would you be loud or quiet? Calling out his name or only gasping and whining for him? Would you let him kiss your thighs before he buries his mouth between your legs? Would you let him bend you over his desk or set you on top of it?
Lord have mercy—
He licks his lips thoughtfully as he continues his observations. Surely you’re taking longer on purpose so that he can stare.
The clink of the glass hitting the counter snaps him from his fantasies before he realizes he’s been caught blatantly checking out your ass with his mouth hanging open a fraction.
Shit.
Your smile is devious and proud when you turn to face him, leaning slightly back against the table to meet his eyes.
“Something wrong, Sir?”
“Princess.” He clears his throat and glances up at the ceiling for a moment. “This isn’t appropriate.”
“I’d hope not.” You snort. You walk towards him and he stays still, every inch of him tense. He doesn’t look away as you tilt your head, chin lifted up to his in offering. He doesn’t take the bait.
“Princess.” He grits out. “Please. Stop.”
“Stop what?”
“You know what.”
“I’m not doing—”
But you shut up when his hand reaches out to snatch your wrist in an iron grip, your fingers hovering barely an inch away from his chest. The gap in his loose shirt reveals smooth, golden skin, your fingertips frozen.
You glance up with a tiny gasp and he’s watching you, his eyes darker and more serious than before.
“I cant let you start anything.” He breathes, hand tightening on your arm. “Not like this. Not with me.”
“Why?” You question, face falling as you look up into his eyes. “Why not?”
“You’re jail bait, kid.”
“What does that mean—”
“Your father would kick my ass if he saw me with you. You know that.” You huff through your nose and attempt to pull away but he holds fast. “Y/N,” he starts and your heart aches. Not ‘Princess’, Y/N. “you have no idea the things I’d do to you.”
You freeze as his head lowers a fraction, nose barely touching yours. Your breaths are unsteady as he tucks your hair behind an ear, hand framing your face.
“You’d never want to leave my bed.” He adds and the ache shoots from your heart to right between your legs. “The things I’ve thought about you.” He closes his eyes and, after a beat, whispers a quiet ‘fuck’ before practically tearing himself away from you.
You don’t even have time to protest before he’s heading back to his rooms and shutting the door behind him.

I may have accidentally started writing a book.
Like I’ve written disjointed segments and notes… LOOK AT MY DISJOINTED SEGMENTS AND NOTES!!! LOOK AT THEM!!!
Working Title: Hellverse
You only get in once your body starts to rot.
You see the afterlife you believed in.
Devils are hells “customer service”.
In hell your “body” reflects the “inner you”
The screeching of wheels, the shattering of glass, the sound of gunfire. Those are the last things I remember before I awoke in this flaming pit of suck.
[small events happen…]
“Please, I don’t belong here!” I plead.
“Well I cannot assign your punishment if you don’t know why you’re here. It messes with the quota.” The Demon says looking me over, as if it’s inspecting my very soul.
“You’re a sinner, and you deserve to be here… and yet there are still people who feel you can be redeemed. In life as well as in death.” The Demon takes a second to think. Scratching its head with talons sharper than any razor invented.”“Tell you what. If you can prove you don’t belong down here, I’ll let you go. But if you find the opposite to be true, well, you best get comfortable.”
The fucking trees walk! The one I was leaning against just got up and scuttled away like a fucking crab.
“What is the ups newbie?” A voice asks from right bellow me. As I look down I’m greeted by an impish looking goat fellow.
“Are you a satyr of hell?”
“Dang blast-a-funk kid.” The heck is he saying. “I’m no flower power satyr. I am an imp.”
I overheard some commotion above me. As I am a curious bitch who craves gossip, I put my ear to the ceiling and listened.
“I made a deal with The Devil I want my soul back and to get into heaven!” Sounded like a Karen or maybe even a Susan.
“Listen sir, I’ll try and explain again,” a very tired sounding demon says. “There isn’t a Devil. That’s-“ it’s cut off by the most overdramatic gasp the human vocal cords could possibly produce.
“Firstly, I am a lady. I only look like this because your boss doesn’t want me to have all these fucking sinners howling and hooting at my perfect body. And-“ their cut off by the demon. I wish I had some popcorn because this is about to get good.
“Sir, I’m sorry you’re in denial about how trans you were in life. I understand the generational trauma and societal pressures took away happiness from you, but that doesn’t matter now because, YOU. ARE. IN. HELL!” The demon is huffing trying to catch its breath. And while the Karen Susan is still stunned, it continues. “As for the deal you made. I need the name of the devil. That’s right there are multiple devils. And I can’t help you get to them without their name. So could you please just work with me here…” As I wait with bated breath for the reply, Dante shoves me.
“Get moving, unless you’d like to get read every law in and out of hell.”

Vierapril Day 7: Celestial
“Let me see them!” “I’m sorry Madam, but we cannot let you do that.” “Do you know who I am?” “Yes, and I’m afraid that still doesn’t change my answer.”
Annabeth wakes to a very irate Alira yelling through a door. As she turns towards the sound to answer, a familiar hand stops her, “You’re awake!” “Gaius, yes I, Gaius! Wait, you’re here? In,” she casts a glance around the room, “You’re here in Sharlyan with me?” He nods, “Yes, Lucia and Maximus were able to get Aymeric to vouch for me coming here. Are you alright? Are you in pain?” Now that she is properly awake, she takes a moment to survey her injuries. “I think I’m alright? I do have some dull aches, but nothing terrible.” “Annabeth!! Are you up?! Please let me in.” Gaius sighs, “She’s still mad at you for sending her away first. Terribly grateful too, in all honesty, when she held Sibbie again, but still mad.” Annabeth chuckles, “Aye, we knew that would happen.” She raises her voice, “You can let her in!”
Alira bursts through the door, letting the poor doctor who unlocked the door fall to the floor. “Oh my gods, you’re alive! I’ve had no idea how any of you are! I mean, I saw you back on the ship, and oh gods, Alinea, but I’ve been so worried about you all.” At the mention of Alinea, Annabeth freezes. Then before Gaius or Alira can stop her, she swings her legs off the bed and tries to jump up. “Alinea, where is she? She sent me away too! Damn it!” She falls to the floor as soon as she tries to put weight on her legs. “Will you all stop misbehaving? You’re the damn warriors of light, not school children?!” The doctor clamps a hand over his mouth at his outburst. Annabeth sees Alira’s eyes flash with anger, and she starts praying for the doctor’s safety.
Alira turns to the doctor, slowly stalking towards him. “Yes, sir, you are correct. Yes, we should be protecting ourselves and listening to you to ensure we heal for our later years. However, we four have been through hell and high water together, and we do not know how one, nay two, of our own are because you have kept them from us. Do I understand this is for their wellbeing? Yes, but at the same time, I have not been separated from these girls for more than a week, a week, do you understand me? And that is when I was laid in bed after having a child?!” The Sharlyan doctor is properly cowering now, but Annabeth has to agree at Alira’s outburst. It has been the four of them for so long that they can’t help but be protective of the others. And if they’re not allowed in Aurora or Alinea’s rooms… How bad are they?
The doctor sighs, “Come along then. Maybe there is something that we can do.” Alira nods and walks back to Annabeth, “Here I’ll support this side, Gaius you take the other.” He nods and they support Annabeth as they walk along the hall to the room next to Annabeth's. They pass Sid in the hallway who just looks at Annabeth and nods as she walks by. She can only imagine how hard he’s been trying to keep Alira calm. The doctor stops outside the next door. “This is Aurora Calypso’s room. There are already guests in there, which is why we won’t let you in, but let’s ask for Y’shtola’s help." He taps a linkpearl in his ear, and within moments, Y’shtola is at their side. The doctor runs through his plan with for doing magic to the wall to allow it to be translucent, just enough for Alira and Annabeth to see what’s on the other side. Y’shtola gives them a warning, “She is the one far worse for wear.”
Sid has come to stand alongside Alira and places a reassuring hand on her shoulder. Y’shtola and the doctor cast their magics and they see Aurora, so small and tiny, covered in bandages. Her father, and grandfather, are keeping watching over her. “There’s been no change since she’s arrived a week ago. She’s made no movement or anything. She’s breathing all on her own, but she’s in a coma. We’re not sure if she’ll make it or not.” Alira’s grateful that Sid is beside her as her own legs give out underneath her, almost causing a painful slip for Annabeth, but Sid is there and he keeps them both steady. Tears run down Annabeth’s eyes, but she doesn’t say a word. The doctor and Y’shtola end their magic and go down to the last room in the hall.
“Alira saw a bit of this as it was happening, but Alinea is the most changed for her journey to Ultima Thule.” Y’shtola says. Annabeth feels Alira tense up, but nothing could prepare her for what she sees. Alinea is covered head to toe in the most beautiful celestial markings she could ever imagine. There’s not a bit that escapes her, not her fingers or her face. She seems to be breathing peacefully, but as if she senses them, her eyes open and they shine brighter than ever before. “Even her hair glows now.” Annabeth looks and sees that Alira is right. Alinea looks over to the side and seems to say something though they cannot make it out. A few seconds later, Estinien opens the door and says, “She wants to see them. Let them have some time together.” He leaves as Annabeth and Alira go in.
They stay with Alinea until the sun starts to set and the doctor shoos them back to their own rooms. Annabeth’s legs have gradually gotten stronger and she can eventually hold her own weight. She turns to Alira, “I’m not tired yet and I’ve got something I want to do. Break out of here with me?” Alira laughs, “I thought you’d never ask. Cover for us will you boys?” Sid and Gaius have no say in the matter for Alira and Annabeth head out of the hospital and go to the hill near the Noumenon, overlooking the harbor. They take a seat and cuddle in together.
“Thank you Thaliak, for keeping Alinea safe. Thank you Nymeia, for keeping Aurora alive.” Annabeth then turns to look at the stars. Alira follows her gaze skyward noting the constellations that she can now find on her best friend. “Thank you Hades and Hyth for giving Alinea the chance to come back. Thank you all for staying around for us and for giving us the opportunity to continue on as we have.” Alira now has tears running down her face after listening to the words Annabeth has said. “Please,” Alira begs the stars, “Please let Aurora come back to us hale and whole.” They both see that the stars seem to twinkle more earnestly, before a shooting star crosses their view. “They’ll be okay. I know they will.” “They better be. They’re the only ones who’ll bother to res me when I do something stupid.” Annabeth laughs. “We better go back. Someone will be missing us.” Alira sighs and starts to get up, when they hear Gaius say, “You know, a lot of people say fresh air is good for healing. One must be warm and not get a chill however.” They turn and see that Gaius and Sid have brought warm bedding and hot soup to drink. They spend the night tracing the stars and praying for their friends, before falling asleep.

Masterlist // Chapter 2 // Chapter 4
—————————————————
It was that night when you got the first real look of the boys and what they do for their business.
You were relaxing on the couch, almost completely beneath Jungkook who decided your chest was a “comfy pillow”, his weight mimicking the feeling of a weighted blanket, and close to falling asleep listening to Jin cook in the kitchen when the front doors opened. Mr. Choi led the people in, well, he followed behind the people who couldn’t wait for him to open the doors fully.
You jolted from your position at the sound of the footsteps making their way to where you were, causing Jungkook to hide your body with his own, his head turning to look at the intruders, eyes narrowed and showing his dragon is in control. The others quickly follow suit, moving to stand in front of the couch, blocking your view of the men, and their view of you.
“Jung, Kim. What have I said about barging into my home? You are supposed to call before even stepping foot onto my property.” Namjoon’s voice was rigid and void of emotion as he spoke, you could see his jaw locking as he stared at the men. You try to move a little bit so you could peek around Yoongi’s body but a little growl from Jungkook keeps you still.
“We are sorry Sirs. But we have a problem.” A small voice speaks back quickly.
“I’ll determine if it is a problem or not.” Namjoon is quick to reply, motioning for the men to speak.
“Our gun deal was a trap. We were ambushed. Seo was in the middle of making sure the man had our money when shots started raining in from the top of the storage units. The guy ran off with half the guns, and about twenty of our men didn’t make it. Seo being one of them.” You stifled a gasp at the man’s words, making Jungkook turn his attention to you.
He was trying to keep your attention off the interaction, caressing your face with his fingers as he moved to place soft kisses on your jaw. But that just made you gasp again, his mouth meeting a spot just below your jaw. You felt him smirk into your skin, now placing open mouthed kisses as he continued to explore your neck, looking for the perfect spot to place his mark.
You could vaguely hear the conversation taking place, your focus on your surroundings weaning as your body warms, aroused by the sensation of Jungkook sucking marks onto your skin.
You had not forgotten about yesterday’s events and neither had Jungkook, who was determined to cover the bruises on your neck with one’s of his own making. He almost wished that man was still alive, just so he could play around with him before his demise. Instead, he would settle with knowing his ministrations would bring you pleasure and prove to the world you were theirs.
He growls into your neck at his thoughts. You were theirs just as much as they were yours. That thought alone made him hard, his tip already leaking in anticipation.
You gasp as you feel him bite on the skin of your shoulder, his tongue working to soothe the red skin. You don’t understand your feelings, goosebumps making themselves known all over your skin as you bare your neck even more for him. You don’t know why you are moving so fast with them, when you just found out about their bond with you. You feel like you should be moving slow, getting to know them before letting them mark and suck at your skin. But you can’t help it.
“Is that a woman gasping?” One of the men ask, moving to the side to see behind his bosses as he hears your reactions to Jungkook. He stops when a gun is pointed at him by Taehyung, the man not in the mood for the lackey’s games and certainly not wanting the man to lay eyes on his mates in such a vulnerable position.
Soon enough the men leave and the boys turn around to find you and Jungkook on the couch, a grin on his face as you try to catch your breath, a large mark on your neck from Jungkook’s actions while your face is flushed.
“Jungkook, next time, wait until they are gone.” Jin states, hand on his hip as he watches his mate try to fake an innocent expression. Jungkook slowly moves off of you, bringing you up into a sitting position.
“But hyung! I was trying to keep her attention on me so she didn’t hear the details.” Jungkook says, a little whine coming on at the end.
“You took her attention all right.” Jimin mutters under his breath, still upset that he didn’t get the chance to kiss you when you guys were alone this morning.
Jimin knew that you would begin to feel the bond more now that you had accepted them and were near them. He was just waiting for your soul to push you to complete the bond. While he wanted you to make the conscious choice to mate with them, he also didn’t want to see you go through the pain of the pull.
Your constant need to be near one of them was already a little concerning, given your previous slight aversion to physical touch. Not that any of them were complaining given their dragon’s need to be near you, but this meant that the bond was pushing you quicker than they thought.
“Jin’s right. Next time just take her out of the room. Only we should be able to hear the noises she makes.” Namjoon looks at Jungkook, his words making you blush. You don’t understand how they can just be so blunt about things like that.
You can feel your face becoming red, the heat from earlier turning into embarrassment know that you are realizing that those men heard your gasps. You groan, bringing your hands to cover your face, resting your elbows on your knees. You don’t think you can look anyone in the eye ever again.
“Aww, look. Our baby mate is embarrassed.” Hobi coos, leaning on Yoongi as they see the blush making its way down your neck. Yoongi can’t help but to think about how flustered you were getting after learning you weren’t as quiet as you wished. He couldn’t wait to see how flustered you got after mating with you; would you still be embarrassed after that?
“Okay guys let’s leave her alone. We all know this is new for her. Plus, she will get used to everything soon.” Jin spoke, making his way to you and helping you off the couch.
“Let’s get you to bed. You have work tomorrow morning.” He maneuvers you to the staircase, before turning around to look at Jungkook, his earlier actions evident as his cock is now leaving a small wet patch on his sweats.
“While I’m gone, someone help Jungkook with his mess.”
-*-*-
Despite being the first one at the shop, you were still late by your own standards. You had woken up on time that morning, but Jimin had insisted on you staying in the bed he snuck into the night before, claiming his “need to cuddle” was a health risk and he could die if he didn’t get my cuddles.
You needed Jin and Namjoon’s help just to get his arms off of you, his strength clearly overpowering your own and making it difficult to fight against his grip. Then, when you tried using the make-up one of their maids as brought you, Jungkook found out and proceeded to wipe off the make-up you spent a half hour covering.
“How are people supposed to know you are ours if you are covering up our marks?” He spoke softly to you, almost scolding you as he used his spit to rub at your neck.
You didn’t know that it was also his own way to make sure his scent remained on you even with your perfume. You had to hold in your gag at the thought of his saliva all over your neck, but them remembered that his saliva was also on your skin last night when he made the marks on your neck.
Jungkook elected to ignore the blush creeping up your cheeks, instead promised to make new marks if you covered the ones already there with make-up.
So now you were walking into the café with a large scarf covering your neck to make your usual tea. It had been two days since you had been here, and you can already tell that Jiah and Seojoon had tried to make a large dent in the shipment you had received yesterday morning. You had tried to come in yesterday, but none of the boys or Chaeyeon would let you, Yoongi effectively “losing your store keys”.
A sigh escapes your lips as you place the mug of tea onto the counter, looking at the three large boxes of books and magazines that still needed to be unpacked and put away. You know it is going to take you several hours, if not the whole day, to effectively put the books away.
A loud ding makes its way to your ears, the front door opening and Chaeyeon walking through, her phone in hand as she talks. She pauses as she sees you, a slight raise to her eyebrow as she moves to place her things in the back.
When she moves back to the front, you are already entangled in opening the boxes and cataloging the new inventory. Your system consisted of a single notebook that belonged to your grandmother, one of the only things to survive the fire. Some of the pages were scorched and charred while most of the pages remained the same, your grandmother and grandfather’s handwriting still eligible in their perfected script.
The notebook was the most efficient way, for you, to catalog everything. It is also one of the reasons Seojoon calls you an old woman, complaining about your lack of technology in the shop and how useful websites were when keeping inventory. You didn’t care. He could pry your notebook from you dead hands if he so badly wanted to bring computers into your shop.
A couple hours pass by as you and Jiah continue to work on the inventory, not even making a dent in the first box. Chaeyeon helped when she could, but more and more customers were coming in for coffee and you still had a shop to run. Today seemed to become a busy day as you were constantly helping customers find books and giving other’s recommendations for books.
You were slowly starting to become overwhelmed, everything beginning to bother you. Stripping yourself of your sweater, you slowly pat your arm hoping to stop the itching without damaging the slowly healing skin. Moving back to your stack of books, you pick up a couple of Harper Lee books and maneuver your way through a couple aisles to put them away.
Once done, you turn to make you way back to Jiah when you walk into a solid wall… or chest. You clutch at your chest, willing your heart to slow down.
“Oops. Pardon me. I didn’t mean to scare you.” The man moves closer to you, reaching around you to grab one of the books behind you on the shelf. Your breath hitches at his proximity, his nose almost touching your own, making you turn your head to the side to avoid him. When he pulls back, you are quick to move to the side, creating distance between you and the man.
You watch him as he turns to you, his smile turning into a smirk. The vibes you were getting from this man were making the hair on your arms stand straight, a cold chill going down your back. The man, book still in hand, takes a step towards you, and continues to move forward until your back is against another shelf.
“Why are you nervous? I was just trying to get a book.” He asks, voice low and raspy as he speaks. He grabs your wrist and brings it up to your chest, using the leverage to keep you in place.
“Please let go of me.” You demand, trying to pull your arm from his grasp. His grip only tightens at your movements. Flashbacks to the alley cover your vision, the feeling of hands gripping your neck and moving down your torso has you tensing your back. You try to move your head away from the man holding your wrist, his eyes watching your every move and the look on his face making you nauseas.
“Now why should I do that? You seem to like it when those other men touch you.” His words make you freeze for a second. Is he talking about Bangtan?
“Let me go.” You respond, choosing to ignore his words.
“I don’t think I will.”
“I think you will let go of her.”
Your head turns to the side to see Jimin and Hobi at the entrance to the aisle you were in, flowers and a bag of food in hand. You swear for a second you see their eyes flash red before they start walking to you. The man in front of you still hasn’t let go of your arm, instead, he moves so that he is facing the two men.
Seeing the man’s hand still holding your wrist, Hobi moves forward and pulls the man off of you, yanking you behind him and putting himself in between you and the man, Jimin quickly coming to your side.
“Now here is how it is going to go. You are going to walk away, and out of the store. You are not going to come within 50 feet of the building and are not going to come near our girl again.” Jimin speaks, his tone low and deep. You can’t deny the possessive nature of the boys isn’t attractive as hell, especially when they call you ‘their girl’.
You watch the man’s face become red, his hands clenching into fists. Your own grip tightens as you hold onto the back of Hobi’s shirt.
“Your girl? How good is she if you all pass her around like a toy?” At his words, you can feel Hobi’s chest vibrate, what you can imagine as the beginning of a growl moves through is chest. Slowly, the man’s face becomes blank, his skin becoming pale as he takes a step back. You scrunch your nose in confusion, wondering what happened to make the man become so pale.
“You have ten seconds to leave.” Hobi states before moving his hand up and counting down with his fingers. The man quickly moves, almost tripping over his own feet as he disappears behind the end of the shelves. Once out of sight, Jimin and Hobi turn around, smiles on their face as they wrap their arms around you.
“Hey baby girl. We brought you some lunch. Chaeyeon told us how busy you were and so we figured you hadn’t eaten anything yet.” Jimin said, holding up the bag of food Jin so clearly made. You were stunned by their quick change in emotions, curious to how someone’s emotions can change so quickly and so drastically.
“I..uh..what? How did you get him to leave so quickly?” You look up at Hobi as he takes your hand and walks with you to the front.
“It was nothing, baby.” He states, waving his other hand in indifference.
-*-*-
You push open the door to your apartment after leaving the shop for the night only to come face to face with your living room and kitchen being filled with bouquets of roses, sunflowers, and daisies. You pause in the doorway, Chaeyeon stumbling into your back as your mouth hangs open in shock.
“Hey why did you just—” The words get caught in Chaeyeon’s throat upon seeing the expanse if the room covered floor to ceiling in vases of flowers. You hear the jingling of your keys as they fall out of your hand, the impact of them hitting your foot breaking you out of your stupor.
“Oh my…” You whisper, slowly making your way to the nearest bouquet resting on the small table in your entryway. You see a small card resting in between a couple of the roses within the vase, picking it up to see a small note written in beautiful calligraphy.
Little One,
We hope you find the flowers as beautiful and ethereal as we find you.
Please remember to eat dinner and get lots of rest.
Love,
Your Mates
You couldn’t help but blush, feeling the warmth climb up your cheeks as you reread the note again and again. You couldn’t believe that they were going out of their way to do something like this. Reading the note for the last time, you figure out that either Jin or Yoongi were the ones who wrote it, given the wording of the last sentence. Those two are always making sure you are taking care of yourself.
“So, I’m guessing by the blush taking over your face and neck that your boyfriends decided to take a page out of one of the romance novels my mom likes to read and send you enough roses to last a couple of years that will go bad within a couple of days because neither of us have a green thumb and can barely keep ourselves alive?” You choke on your saliva at your best friend’s words, the blunt words making you almost short circuit.
“I’ll take that as a yes.” She says before walking away to the kitchen, maneuvering through all the vases. You look around at all the flowers, trying to figure out what you are going to do with them; they can’t all stay here when you can barely walk through your apartment.
The doorbell ringing brings you out of your planning. You make your way to open the door, seeing a gentleman in a nice suit holding a tray in front of you, a box resting on the top.
“Miss Kim?” The man asks, not once looking you in the eye, his head bowed.
“Um, yes?” You say, your tone rising slightly at the end, questioning his existence, and wondering what this man is doing in front of your door.
The suited man doesn’t respond, he just holds the tray in front of him, both hands underneath the tray, moving forward indication you to take the box from the tray. You wait a couple seconds before reaching for the box. The box is slightly heavy in your hands, the bottom emitting heat making your hands warm.
The man doesn’t say anything else, just bows deep before making his way back towards the staircase.
“What the heck is going on?” You ask yourself, turning back around and making your way to Chaeyeon after closing and locking your front door again. You sit at the counter, placing the box on top and trying to open it.
“What is that?” You hear Chaeyeon ask from your right side, watching you open the box.
Upon practically ripping open the lid of the box, you and Chaeyeon are shocked by the amount of food resting inside the container. Bowls of noodles and rice covered the bottom while small containers of sauces and meat laid on top. There was more food in the box, than you and Chaeyeon could eat in a week! Chaeyeon reaches forward, snatching up a note that you missed, reading it out loud.
Baby Girl,
I know you would forget to eat if we didn’t send food for you.
Please eat lots and don’t forget to tell me how good the food is!
Your Jin.
p.s. Chaeyeon can eat the food too.
-- Yoongi
How on earth did they think you would be able to finish this for a single meal?
“Did they really think I wouldn’t eat the food just because they told me not too? How dumb can they be? I don’t need their permission to eat the food they send you, especially when they send you enough rations to last you three weeks!” She rants, opening the containers and bringing a piece of meat to her mouth.
You can’t help but laugh at her, trying to cover it up with a cough as you grab some of the noodles out of the container.
“Why do you think they are doing all this?” Chaeyeon questions, gesturing to the room full of flowers and the food on the counter.
“I honestly have no clue.” You reply softly, resting your head on your palm as you continue to eat your noodles.
-*-*-
“Jin, you sent dinner for her, correct?” Namjoon looks towards his oldest mate, trying to make sure they were following the courting procedures properly.
“Yes. Unfortunately, Yoongi wrote a note on the bottom saying that Chaeyeon could eat the food as well.” Jin grumbles towards the end, his arms crossed and brows furrowed in disappointment.
He wasn’t happy that the food he made for you was being eaten by someone else. He needed to make sure you were eating properly and couldn’t stand that Yoongi did what he did.
“Jin, I already told you, Y/N would have found it weird and would have been upset if we sent food only for her and not Chaeyeon as well. Chaeyeon is basically her sister and Y/N would do anything for her. If we don’t respect their relationship, neither of them will ever agree to our relationship with Y/N.” Yoongi had already had this discussion with them multiple times, but his mates were getting carried away with trying to woo you and prove that they could be good mates and take care of you.
They had been planning for over a week now how they wanted to court you, eventually deciding on the traditional dragon route; proving to the prospected mate that the courting dragons can provide anything they need or desire. This is usually done with gifts, food, and making sure that everyone else knows that you are being courted. Sometimes done in the form of jewelry or marks on the open skin, the ‘possession’ is to prove that you are taken.
While dragons are naturally possessive over their belongings, a mated or courting dragon can become borderline obsessive, doing everything in their power to make you theirs. And after the incident with Jimin and Hoseok at your bookstore, the boys had become enraged.
It didn’t take long for Jungkook to find the man who dared to touch you. When Jimin and Hoseok returned home, the seven of them made their way to the man’s home, making sure that he wouldn’t be going near you in the future. Unfortunately, or fortunately in Yoongi’s opinion, Jungkook and Taehyung went a little overboard in their ministrations.
“Yoongi is right. We can’t possibly hope to complete the bond with Y/N if we don’t act accordingly with Chaeyeon. I know our main priority is our mate, but her friend means everything to Y/N, and we need to respect that.” Namjoon pauses before looking towards Jin, who is still pouting in his reclining chair.
“Jin, next time, don’t go overboard with making food for Y/N.” Jin tries to object but Namjoon holds his hand up, stopping Jin in his seat.
They all agreed to have Jin make meals to send to you, not trusting anyone else to make food for their baby mate. However, they also didn’t realize how seriously Jin would take this, making over two pounds worth of noodles and almost eight pounds worth of rice, not to mention the amount of meat he grilled. You could never possibly eat all of that food in a single setting, the exact reason Yoongi tried to make it better and write on the note that the food is also for Chaeyeon.
Namjoon turns to ask Yoongi a question but stops when he sees Jungkook raising his hand.
“Yes, Jungkook?” He asks, eyebrow raised in amusement.
“Do you think she would like diamonds or pearls?” He holds up his tablet, showing a couple of different images of necklaces, trying to decide which one you would like more.
“Jungkookie, Y/N seems to favor simpler fashion pieces. She doesn’t wear jewelry and often chooses comfort over fashion. I would go with a simple diamond necklace.” Taehyung answers, grabbing the tablet from Jungkook’s hands, swiping through the different options on the website Jungkook had up.
“Will the necklace have our names on it? We need everyone to know to not touch what is ours. Especially after the incident today. Maybe have the necklace engraved with Bangtan. That way everyone will know that she is ours.” Jimin spoke up, moving to stand behind Taehyung and Jungkook to look at the array of necklaces.
Despite wanting you to have independence and the option to make your own choices, Yoongi was quickly overruled by the side of himself that wants you to be completely dependent on them and proudly show the world you were their mate.
-*-*-
Over the next week, you had woken up to multiple packages on your doorstep. Most of the time it was breakfast for you and Chaeyeon, but other times it was jewels and clothing from stores you would have never even walked in front of let alone stepped foot inside. They would also send you boxes of self-care items, medicines, and creams for your burn. You had told them off-handedly that you thought you were becoming sick with how much your body was aching.
You were quickly becoming uncomfortable with the amount of money you knew they were spending on you and made sure to explain to them that you wouldn’t accept any more gifts from them.
You had shown up to their ‘house’ one morning before they could leave another package on your doorstep holding the same package from yesterday morning, the label Gucci making you almost carry the box with gloves so you don’t get germs on the expensive packaging.
Before you could even open the door, Mr. Choi was there, a sweet smile on his face upon seeing you about to knock on the door. After awkwardly moving your hand back down to your side, he moves to gesture you inside.
“The Sir’s have been expecting you miss.” You quirk your eyebrow up, questioning how they knew you would show up to their house at 5 in the morning. You nod, entering after thanking the man.
“The Sir’s are up in the library, Madam.”
“Thank you, Mr. Choi.” You smile warmly at him before making your way up the stairs. The box unmoving in your hands as you knock on the door to the library, trying not o jostle whatever expansive item was resting inside. The door opened only seconds after you knocked, as if the person inside was waiting right next to the door.
“Y/N-ie!! You’re here! I missed you!” You were quickly tackled by Taehyung, his arms wrapped tight around your waist, the box in your arm becoming squished as he moves his face into your neck, placing small kisses on the expanse of your skin.
“Okay Taehyung. Quit hogging our sweet mate. She doesn’t want your grimy hands all over her!” You hear Jimin yell, pulling Taehyung off of you and quickly replacing him.
“Hi baby. We missed you.” He whispers from his place in your neck, his head rubbing against your shoulder and neck where Taehyung was kissing.
You had long understood their need to scent you, as explained by Namjoon when Jungkook had decided to cover your neck with his, uh, kisses, that one morning. You were a little disgusted at first, but after learning it was their natural instinct to scent you, even with some questionable methods, you were slowly learning to accept it.
However, you had told Jungkook that if he ever decided to do that again, he wouldn’t be allowed to scent you for a week, to which he pleaded and apologized.
Namjoon also explained to me that Jungkook is more connected to his dragon counterpart and thus is instincts and actions can be more that of his dragon. He will be more possessive than the rest of them, and he is more intense with his need to scent and protect his mates.
“It may be worse with you, given that you are younger than him, and the first mate he will be able to court.” Namjoon had said that morning, watching you try to cover your neck with the top of your hoodie.
Now, you were becoming used to their scenting, almost liking the way they needed to “have you smell like them.” You would be lying if you said you didn’t like how possessive they were of you. You hadn’t ever had anyone love you like this, let alone want everyone to know you were theirs.
Of course, it wasn’t a normal relationship, and if they were humans, you probably would have already been running. However, this wasn’t a normal relationship, this was destined by fate, your soul reaching for them as they were reaching for yours.
“Okay, let’s let our baby mate breath. Jimin, let go of her and let her sit down.” Jin, the mediator, said as he moved forward to pull Jimin off of you and back down to his previous spot next to Hobi. You walk into the room, not sitting down in the empty spot next to Yoongi, moving to stand in front of the couches instead.
“Before you guys say anything, I need to tell you something. Or rather ask you guys something.” You begin, making sure they were looking at you and were listening to your words.
“I umm. I would really appreciate it if you could stop sending me all of the jewelry and clothes.” You hold up the unopened box of Gucci, making Taehyung cringe. “I appreciate the gifts, even though I don’t know why you are giving them, but I am uncomfortable knowing you guys have been spending so much money on me.” You take a breath in, waiting to see their reactions.
“Baby, do you not like our gifts. We picked them out just for you?” Jimin’s eyes begin to water as he questions you, his soul feeling rejected. Do you not think that they can provide for you?
“Petal, if you don’t like the clothes, I can take you out shopping later? Maybe we can go to Louis Vuitton if you don’t like Gucci?” Taehyung stands up, worried that you didn’t like the gifts he sent you. He and Jungkook picked them out themselves, even buying matching outfits for you all.
“No Tae, it’s not the brand of clothes. I just, I’m not used to gifts and don’t think you should be spending so much money on me.” You try to reason with the dragons, hoping they would understand where you were coming from.  However, all you receive in return is a loud yell of protests from the men.
“Baby girl, do you not think we should spoil the person we have been waiting years for? This is the least we can do for making you wait so long.” Namjoon says, quieting the rest of the boys.
“If you truly don’t want the gifts, we will stop, but it is how our people show that we are able to provide for our prospective mates.” Jin follows, ignoring the small protests from the younger men. Jin knew that telling you about their people’s traditions would get you to accept their courting gifts. It might be manipulative, but he knew how big of a heart you had.
You physically deflate at their words, now understanding what the meaning of your words might have done to them. You didn’t know the gifts held meaning for them, and here you were telling them to stop giving you gifts.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t know…” You pause, trying to find the words to say but Hobi stops you, moving to embrace you from your place still in front of them.
“No princess, it is our fault. We should have told you about the courting process, even if you have already accepted to being our mate. We just wanted to show everyone that we can take care of you and that you are ours.” You blush at his words, your body reacting to the possessive undertone of Hoseok’s words.
Hoseok moves back, Namjoon now moving to take his place in front of you, a small smile on his face and something in his hands.
“We were going to wait until after we completed the bond, but we,” He gestures to the men now gathered around you, “feel that this is the right time for you to have your own.” He opens the small box in his hand to reveal a diamond necklace with a small pendent. You don’t even know how to react. The necklace seemed so simple at first, but upon Namjoon placing the necklace on your neck, you realized just how important it was.
The small pendent held the symbol for their mafia, Bangtan, with their initials surrounding the small symbol. Only the inner circle has the symbol on their person, showing how important they are to the group. However, no one has the initials of the boys, which must mean that this is special only to you.
You look up at the boys, small tears pooling in your eyes as you hold onto the pendent. Having something like this, is surreal. You know you aren’t a part of their business, given the boys want you nowhere near it, but they still want you to be a part of them, of their inner circle.
“We know that you feel uncomfortable with gifts, but this is more than a gift.” Namjoon starts to speak. “This is a sign of our love, to let everyone know that you are protected and loved by us. You are now a part of us. Someone that we would do anything and everything for. We know that this relationship, this bond, isn’t considered normal by any means, but we wouldn’t change the outcome for anything.” Namjoon moves closer, one hand now cupping your cheek while the other intertwines your fingers together, holding your hand close to his heart.
“Just in the time we have known you, we already know that you are a gift given by the gods. You are more than we could have ever wished or dreamed for in a mate. We will do everything in our power to protect you, protect our love.” You have tears streaming down your face at this point. Never did you expect for the men you have fallen for to just pronounce their love for you in this way.
You rush forward to wrap your arms around Namjoon, not knowing how to react to their proclamation but also so you could hide your now red face in his chest. You feel him chuckle at your movement, bringing his arms to wrap around your back and bring your almost impossibly closer. After a couple of seconds, he moves his hands to your thighs, picking you up and making you wrap your legs around his waist as he brings you both to sit on the closest couch.
You let him manhandle you into a comfortable position, keeping your face snuggled into his chest, not trusting the others to not tease you about your blushing face. You relax into his hold, loving the feeling of being held, not that you would ever admit it. The feeling of someone petting your hair almost makes you sigh.
“Baby, don’t you have to get to your shop soon?” You hear Yoongi ask, his voice soft as if trying to persuade you to stay there, in their arms. To be honest, you had completely forgotten that you were supposed to open the store this morning. You groan in response to his question, causing laugher to fill the room. You just want to stay in this position forever.
“You don’t have to go in baby. You can stay here with us and just keep the store closed for today.” Jimin suggests, persuasion filling his tone as he lowers his voice. None of them want you to leave.
“Yeah! We can all stay here and cuddle and watch movies.” Taehyung adds on, catching onto what Jimin is trying to do. You move away from Namjoon’s chest a little, so that your voice isn’t muffled by his shirt.
“That does sound nice but I can’t close the shop just because I want to stay and cuddle with your guys.” You pout slightly, moving to get off Namjoon’s lap, only to be pulled back in by his arms.
“Yes, you can! Everyone needs a break every now and then.” Jungkook speaks this time, now the youngest men all on the same page and trying to convince you to stay with them, knowing that you secretly love to be held.
“Have you guys no sense of responsibility? Have we spoiled you too much?” Jin shouts, aiming his words to the youngest bunch sitting across from you on the reclining sofa.
“Baby don’t listen to them. We understand that you have work. I will take you today. We can stop on the way and get you some breakfast!” Jin helps you out of Namjoon’s grip, his arms trying to keep you in his embrace without verbally asking you to stay.
-*-*-
As much as you wanted to give the continuous stream of gifts back to them, you kept each and every one, choosing to wear the least flashy and expensive clothing to work, and then wearing the rest whenever you go to see the boys at their home. You didn’t want to make them upset that you weren’t wearing their gifts, especially Taehyung who you knew spent hours picking out the ‘perfect outfits’ for you.
Jin had also managed to size down the meals he sent for you, grumbling and whining about the fact that you weren’t eating enough even though he fed you more than anyone would be able to eat.
What made you feel soft and small was the fact that the boys would take turns to rub the burn cream that Yoongi had bought on your arm. The boys were very careful and gentle with you, not applying to much pressure and taking the time to massage the cream into your marred skin.
You were still extremely insecure about your burn, not wanting anyone to see it. Other then Chaeyeon and her family, no one else had seen it, besides the small marks on your wrist and neck that can’t be hidden by the clothes that you have. And whenever anyone had seen them, they would always look at you weird, give you dirty looks, and overall make you uncomfortable. The boys, however, never made you feel that way.
You felt loved for and taken care of whenever they put the cream on you, not making a big deal of it. They would talk to you about your day, ask you how you are, and then proceed to tell you about all the kisses and cuddles that you owe them as payment for working and leaving them at the house by themselves.
Today, it was Yoongi’s turn to help you with the cream. He had everything laid out on the side table as you sat on the couch next to him, a pillow on your lap. You had already removed your sweatshirt, well, Jungkook’s sweatshirt, your tank top moved a little so he could have access to the entire burn.
“Okay baby. It’s a little cold this time. Mini accidently put it into his skin care fridge.” Yoongi puts some of the cream on his hand and rubs it, trying to warm it up in his hands before putting it onto your skin. He starts at your hand, massaging the slightly cold cream on your skin. He takes his time, making sure not to aggravate the peeling and healing skin.
Due to the intensity of the fire, and where you tried to knock the door down you have minimal feeling in your bicep, the nerve endings almost completely gone. You have normal feeling in your hand and shoulder, though sometimes it feels like you don’t.
The feeling of his hands, the close proximity you hold, is driving you crazy. You have been feeling under the weather lately and being with the boys almost makes you forget you were even sick. Being around them, and being in their hold, helps you to feel at peace.
The closer he gets to your shoulder, the closer he moves, his warm breath now reaching your cheek as he talks. You can’t even focus on his words, trying to steady your own breathing and slow down your fast beating heart. He seems to notice this, a small smirk forming on his face as he sees your cheeks becoming red.
“Wow, love, if I would have known you would feel this way about me massaging your arm, I would have done this earlier.” He moves in front of you, now done with your arm. His voice drops as he moves the hair out of your face.
“Stop,” you whine, pushing him away as a laughs, “it’s not funny. I can’t help it when I am surrounded by attractive men all the time.”
“Attractive men, you say? Well, how can I not do this when I am in front of the most attractive women I’ve ever seen?” He moves closer, cupping your cheek as he leans in. The tension thick as his lips move against yours, first his touch soft but quickly becoming fueled by passion.
You have kissed them plenty of times before, but they were small kisses, done in passing or whenever Jin or Jimin become clingy. This kiss is a long time in the making. You had always been told about the fireworks you would feel when being kissed like this, but you didn’t realize they had been lying. These weren’t fireworks; there were bombs going off in your abdomen, the rabid butterflies creating carnage on your insides as Yoongi moves you to lie down on the couch.
You are unsure of where to put your hands this time, this kiss quickly becoming something entirely out of your desires.
As if he had been reading your mind, Yoongi grabs your hands, bringing them to rest around his neck as he moves down to your jaw, making his was to the sensitive skin on your neck. Despite the passion and instinct placed into the kiss, Yoongi was still careful about your arm, making sure to keep it from rubbing against the material of the couch.
“You. Are. So. Beautiful. My love.” Yoongi whispers in between placing kisses on your neck. You can’t help but sigh into the room, his touch doing all the right things to you, your arousal quickly making itself known, your underwear becoming wet as he moans out praises against your skin.
“Now what do we have here? Yoongi, you better be making our princess feel good.” Your open your eyes to see the rest of the boys standing against the entrance to the living room, their stares doing nothing to combat the arousal at your fingertips. Nerves non-existent as the boys watch you both.
“I can smell her arousal from here.” Jimin whines, his nostrils flaring at the scent of you, his own nerves burning to aid his mate in making you feel good underneath them. He can’t wait to feel your body under his, to see your face change as he explores your body, marking you like a work of art, on display for him and his hyungs to worship.
You kept your eyes on the men at the door, unwavering even as Yoongi helped you out of your shirt, your sports bra on full display as he continues his ministrations.
“You like it when they watch you be devoured huh? Do you want them to help? Want your mates to make you feel so good, baby?” Yoongi mutters, his mouth dangerously close to the top of your breasts, your nipples hardening as you moan.
“I need your words, baby. Do you want your mates to make you feel good?” He bites into your chest, his tongue soothing the skin as you whimper.
“Yes. Want you to mate me.” The room quickly becomes cold, everyone freezing at your words. Yoongi pulls himself away a little bit, hovering over you now as he moves so he could look you in the eye.
“Baby. Are you sure? We don’t want to pressure you into mating with us. We are perfectly okay to wait. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.” His words reassure you even more that you are doing the right thing. No one else would have made sure you were doing what you wanted. The seven men, your mates, would still put you first.
You nod your head, a smile forming as you pull at the hair on his neck.
“Yes. I’m sure. I want you. All of you.” You turn to look at the other six, still frozen, listening to your words, smiles forming as they see the reassurance and trust on your face.
At your words, Yoongi moves off of you, helping you off the couch. Once on your feet, Jungkook is sweeping you off your feet, moving to carry you up to their shared bedroom.
“No princess should ever have to walk when her prince is around.” He whispers, placing soft kisses to your skin as he moves. You return the favor, your lips moving to his jaw as he moves, your touch now doing things to him, his feet moving faster to reach the room, throwing the door open and placing you gently in the middle of the bed before climbing on top.
“You should probably expect not to go into work tomorrow. Or the next day.”

Shots fired
Spencer x reader
Sitting on Spencer's couch you'd been reading one of your favorite books. It was early, at least for a weekend it was. You'd come by Spencer's hoping to catch him before a phone call from the team, however he seemed to have been gone already.
You thought about just going home, but decided to stay and clean the already, mostly pristine apartment. It was organized in his own chaotic way. You'd slowly put away his paperwork and obsessively marked books.
You then walked over to his nearly empty sink washing the dishes. After that it was doing his laundry and maybe make and remake his bed.
Today was your last day off which is why you were hoping to catch him. You worked at an elementary school and taught a rambuctious group of 2nd graders. They were great kids and you loved them all dearly.
That being said tomorrow was Monday so you had things that you needed to prepare. That is why you called Spencer and let him know you'd been there. You knew he was observant and may panic if he saw his apartment.
"Hey Spence, it's me. I just wanted to let you know I stopped by. I love you and I'll see you when you're back. Kisses." Then you hung up.
Nothing could have prepared you for the next day.
You woke up at 5:00am and got ready for the day. The school day didn't start until 8:30, but you wanted to catch a shower.
Swinging your legs over your bed and wobbled to the bathroom, grabbing a towel and your brush on the way. You had your clothes laid out the night before, surprisingly you were set for Monday it was Friday when you just threw your clothes on and prayed they matched.
That being said you sauntered into the small room flipping the light on and flinching at it's brightness.
"Ugh no! Tis to early for this." You groaned plopping the towel on the toilet.
You stripped the overnight clothes off and turned the shower on, the steam rising from the enclosed space and into the rest of the room.
Pulling the curtains aside you stepped in, the hot water cascading down your back and soaking your hair. The water washed away your sleepiness and you began to shampoo and condition your locks. You hummed as the suds made your hair squishy and soft. You giggled before putting your head back under the rushing water. The soap washed out gathering around your feet and down the drain.
Once you were sure the soap was out and that your body felt refreshed, you shut the water off. Stepping out of the shower your feet padded on the shower mat. You smiled reaching over and grabbing the grey towel.
Drying your body you then dried your hair. Once you were sure you wouldn't drip water everywhere you brushed through your damp hair.
Spinning back to your door you wrapped the towel tightly around yourself. You needed to get dressed and you'd sleepily left the clothes in your room. Huffing you opened the door, the cool air rushing at your damp flesh, goosebumps rising.
Shivering you padded to your room and made sure the curtains were closed, windows locked, and then locking the bedroom door. You heard all sorts of stories from Penelope about how women were attacked in their own homes while they were vulnerable. No not you and not today.
Quickly you slipped into your clothes, which happened to be a pair of black leggings and a (favorite color) dress that ended just above the knee, with a light overcoat
You huffed before grabbing your phone. 5:45 am. Good you were on a roll. You lived about 15 minutes away from the school so you had time.
Sliding your sneakers on you tied them before hearing your front door open. You immediately jumped up, opening your night stand, and pulling out the pistol you'd kept stashed there.
You crept over to the door and unlocked the knob. With the way your apartment was set up you couldn't see the front door or the kitchen. Stepping into the hall you slinked down towards the living room. Once you entered you saw the back of the person kneeling in front of your fridge.
You almost laughed out loud, but clicked the safety back on.
"Spence you couldn't text me before coming over?" You giggled as the brunette jumped, hitting his head off the top of the fridge.
"Ouch! Crap. I'm sorry y/n I wanted to surprise you. I figured I could stop by early enough that I won't be called in." You laughed at the male before placing the gun in another drawer in the kitchen.
"Awe that's sweet Spencer. What were you looking for?" You laughed walking over to him and pushing his bangs out of his face.
"Ehm well I was looking for some coffee creamer because the barista forgot it. They were really busy." You nodded before brushing past him and to the refrigerator.
"Ahh let's see I have hazelnut and vanilla and oh! There's some caramel, too."
You heard him whisper a soft "Vanilla, please." Before you stood up the container in hand. Turning around you saw his eyes were downcast and your eyebrows raised in concern.
"Spencer. Is everything alright?" He seemed to jump at the question, but nodded reaching for the bottle in your hand.
"No. There's something bothering you, love. What happened yesterday?" His eyes widened as you placed the bottle behind him on the counter.
"You can talk to me. You know that. Now spill, Spence." He shuddered slightly before sighing.
"There's a case. The unsub is targeting elementary schools in the area. He targets the female employees killing them, talking about it's them or the kids. He even used a recording to lure them. Still no one is taking us seriously! We've gone to several of the schools, even the superintendent! They're refusing to shut the schools down saying that 'our employees are trained for this.'" He huffed heavily running his fingers through his hair.
"This guy is smart y/n. He's already gone to three schools and killed 23 people and-" he choked up as he thought about the 13 children who died.
"Spence, what school would he go for next? He's smart and calculated I'm sure. Where would he target next?" You looked at your best friend worry in your eyes. He looked up at you the gears in his head turning.
"That's the thing y/n he's unpredictable. We thought he had a connection to one and he attacked another. We have no idea which school he'll target next. So far all of his attacks would seem random but they're not." He sighed out rubbing his face.
"He's killed 23 people. 10 teachers and 13 children. We thought we were so close Y/n and he killed again. We can't lose. We can't let him kill again." His voice sounded so strained.
You went to answer him when his phone beeped. He jumped slightly before pulling it out.
"I got to go. The team needs me. I'm sorry. I love you! Be safe" he rushed kissing your forehead, before slipping out of the front door.
Fisting your hands you sighed. This man could target your school next. Grabbing your purse and keys you rushed out the door.
"Yes sir I understand there's no evidence or reason for him to come here but please listen to me. If we take the precautions, just until he's caught there's less likely of a chance for anyone to get hurt!
We are an elementary school. We don't have to switch classes. We can have indoor recess, allowing the children to be safe, to learn, to have fun!
We can have lunch in our classrooms and avoid being out in the open. This man is dangerous sir. Please."
Your boss looked at you his eyes sharp.
"Ms. L/n I'm sure this man is dangerous, and I'm sure you're worried but there is no reason for us to go into a panic. You may do as you wish with your class, I'll permiss it but I cannot make the other teachers to through with it. I'm sorry." You sighed but nodded.
"Thank you Victor. I appreciate it but please inform them?" He hesitated but nodded.
  "I will."
Walking back to your classroom your shoes thudded along the tile. At least you got permission to protect your class. It was definitely something.
Unlocking your door you pulled together today's activities. You'd have to make sure everything was prepared for if something happened.
Going through your cupboards and closets, you emptied or organized them, to maybe hide the kids in. It wasn't much but you wanted to keep them safe.
School would be in session soon and you needed to be sure that you were prepared.
"Hey Lola! How are you today?" You greeted the young girl as she plopped into her desk.
"I'm mad. Mommy told me that Skylar isn't coming to school today! And she is  like my bestest best friend!" You laughed as she threw her arms up in frustration.
"Maybe that's what's best Little Lady. Don't worry though! We might play hide and seek later!" You said handing her a squishy ball to squeeze.
Soon you had all of your kids for today. You may have called the parents and let them know of the risks and  Victor might not be impressed but you'd deal with his wrath later.
Looking around you told the class of the plans today and gave them a math game to play in small groups. The door of course was locked along with the door stop.
You gave each child an assignment, but made it a game so that they wouldn't be scared. You made Lola and Jaiden your captains who took care of their crew. If someone had to go to the bathroom you'd take a small group and leave the other group to watch the classroom. Then you'd come back and switch.
That being said you were constantly checking in on Spencer. He didn't answer much but he did reassure you to his best ability. At least he had been.
You didn't understand what was happening until you heard someone bump into the microphone in the office.
It made a terrible screaming noise before you heard Haley, the secretary announce that everyone had to take the school intruder precautions.
Quickly you told the kids to go to their "bases" or hiding places. Jaiden and his team hid in the cupboards while Lola and hers hid in the closet.
You? You stood next to the door out of sight. Earlier you'd put up a curtain so that if the guy did show up he couldn't look in.
You heard the other kids in other classes asking what was going on and some of them were crying. You grimaced at the thought of their faces.
You waited for a while before Victor came on.
"I understand you are scared. I need you all to stay calm and keep the children safe. No matter what you hear, or see DO NOT leave your classrooms. Thank you that is all."
Glancing around you began pushing some of the desks in front of the door. Then you ran over to the window and unlocked one. You didn't open it for fear of making your escape obvious. If you needed to get the kids out quickly you would.
Pulling out your phone your dialed Spencers number. If you heard any evidence of the unsub he'd be on speed dial. That being said you told the kids to stay hidden and go over their "battle plans".
Steadying your breathing you walked over to the door and stood next to it out of sight.
It didn't take long before you heard screaming, a female. She was yelling about how it was the schools corrupt system that got her son killed. That if they had listened to protocol and protected him he'd still be alive.
  You gasped before calling Reid.
"Hello?" Shuddering you replied quietly.
"The unsub is actually a woman. She has a dead son. He died in a school shooting or something similar." The other end was silent for a moment before you heard some scuffling.
"Y/n?" You sighed as you recognised Hotch's voice.
  "Yes sir?"
"I need you to tell me what's going on." Before you could answer a loud gun shot was heard.
"Y/n! Are you okay!" You heard Spencer panic.
"I- I am fine. So are the kids. I don't know about the others though. The unsub. She's here Spencer and she's mad." You cried softly before another shot echoed throughout the building.
"Y/n. We're on our way. Just stay safe. We're coming." You nodded before mumbling a soft 'okay' and hanging up.
"YOU TEACHERS KILLED MY BABY! YOU DIDN'T PROTECT HIM! HE DIDN'T DESERVE TO DIE. HE WAS A CHILD!" you gasped as she wailed before shooting her gun again. Directly into your door.
Gasping you waited. You heard her walk over to the door before pulling on the handle.
"Oh. So you think you can protect them huh? With a measly door and a glass window with a fucking curtain? No way in hell."
With that she put the gun against the glass with a 'clank'. Before you could react and loud ringing filled your ears as she pulled the trigger.
Glass flew everywhere as the woman laughed. Thinking fast you grabbed a desk and faced it towards the window holding it in place. With her only way in temporarily blocked you called for Lola.
"Lola honey! C'mere!" You whisper yelled as the small girl crawled out.
"Ms. L/n what was that? It was really loud and we're scared." You smiled softly.
"I know honey but I need you to get all of your classmates and take them to the 3rd window. Do you understand?" She nodded quickly rushing around.
Sighing in relief you jumped when another gun shot sounded.
Gritting your teeth you let go of the desk, glad it stayed.
Helping Lola gather them all was much harder then you wanted it to be, but they were scared and that you understood.
"Okay my little adventures, we're gonna do an escape mission. I want you all to climb out of this window and hide in the bushes until the good guys come okay?" They nodded and you shivered in relief. Once they were safe you could do what you needed to.
Quickly you put them on the counter and they climbed out, the taller boys going first to help the shorter ones.
Finally it was Lola's turn and she looked at you with big watery eyes.
"Ms. L/n I'm scared." Your heart broke before you hugged her.
"Me too. Don't worry though our knight is coming princess." She cried as you put her on the counter helping her out.
"Be safe. Hide. Go!" They all nodded and ran off. As soon as you were sure they were safe you rushed to the door that connected to Mr. Groves room. Unlocking it you rushed in all the kids looked at you wide eyed.
"Hey guys! It's okay you need to be really quiet and come with me okay?" They cried and looked over at their teacher and you nearly screamed at the sight.
He had gotten hit by a stray bullet or something and was bleeding out on the floor.
"Okay. Okay come on. Quietly." They nodded rushing into your classroom. When you had them all you helped them out like you did your own, giving them the same instructions.
Rushing back the other class you took off your jacket pressing it into Steve's chest.
"Hey Steve. How are you?" You laughed awkwardly and he gurgled at you. Crying you kept pressure.
"They're all safe. I helped them. It's okay." You smiled at him and he smiled lightly and you sobbed quietly as his life slowly seeped out onto your hands and jacket.
Slowly pulled your hands away you jumped when you heard sniffling.
Whipping around you looked under his desk finding a little boy.
"Hey hey! What's your name handsome?" You asked quickly wiping the blood off.
  "C-christopher, b-but my mo-mommy calls m-me Chris." He sobbed.
"Okay Chris why don't I help you out with your other friends?" The boy shook his head aggressively in a 'no' motion.
"I can't." Your eyebrows raised before your eyes widened.
"Christopher, are you paralyzed?" The boy nodded and you let out a breath.
"Okay come here. I'll carry you." His eyes widened.
"We, we can't go out there. The bad lady will shoot us!" You winced at his loud voice and he seemed to realize what he'd done because he began to softly cry.
"Ahh honey it's okay. We won't move. We won't move." You hushed pulling him into you.
You sat there for what felt like forever before you heard Derek talking down the Unsub.
"Ma'am you don't want to do this! Put the gun down. Ma'am!" You and Christopher jumped when someone slammed into your classroom next door.
Pulling Christopher into your lap you held him close as he cried into your chest.
"THEY KILLED HIM! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I WANT. THEY KILLED HIM." You jumped at how close she seemed.
Breathing out shakily you put Chris down gesturing for him to be quiet.
Slowly you pulled yourself up. Glancing at the door connecting the rooms you saw it was partially opened.
Taking a deep breath you slowly made your way over jumping when the woman began to yell again.
This was your chance. Running at the door you slammed it shut turning the lock.
"YOU CAN'T PROTECT THEM!" She screamed slamming into the now locked door.
Quickly you dragged a few desks to block her from entering. From there you unlocked the main door.
"Chris, baby, I'm going to pick you up and I want you to close your eyes. Do you understand?" He nodded quickly tears bubbling up.
"Okay come here honey." He dragged himself over to you and you quickly gathered him into your arms.
"Okay you have to trust me. Just close your eyes." You hushed quickly and quietly opening the classroom door, as the women continued to bang and scream in yours.
Rushing into the hall you saw Derek's eyes widen as you held Chris to your chest, the blood from Steve staining your outfit.
"It's not mine!" You assured as you jogged to him, Chris hiding in your hair.
"The kids are outside hiding in the bushes." You whispered once you were close enough so the woman wouldn't hear you.
"Mr. Groves, she killed him. And Chris he's paralyzed." You informed as Derek ushered you behind him.
"You need to get out of here. If she sees you she'll-" *BANG*
You yelped in shock as the shot rang out.
"Move in!" A man yelled followed by his team.
Christopher held onto you sobbing into your dress. You held him close and hushed him, whispering reassurances into his ear.
Derek led you outside and when you got there you were surrounded by police and EMT's.
You handed Christopher off to one of the women, promising him he'd be okay. Then you ran over to the bushes and found both your students and Steve's.
"Hey guys! Come one the good guys are here." You promised as Lola ran to you.
"Hey princess." You murmured as she cried into your shoulder. The other kids surrounded you in a group hug.
Standing up you held Lola to your chest.
"Come on guys." You ushered them to the authorities.
You were shocked when a woman mobbed you and began to cry as she held you and Lola.
"Thank you! Thank you so much." She cried and you were to shocked to do anything.
When she pulled away she held Lola's face in one hand and yours in the other.
"You don't know me, but I know you. You saved my little boy Chris." She sniveled and you nodded.
"Chris. Is he okay?" You asked as you set Lola down next to you keeping ahold of her hand.
"Yes thanks to you. He's a little shaken up of course but thank you!" She continued.
You nodded before you led her to an ambulance where Chris was sitting.
"Hey Chris. This is Lola. You mind if she stays with you and your mom?" You asked as you brushed Lola's hair back.
He nodded patting the spot next to him.
"Thank you. Lola honey I'll be right back." You assured her before turning to scan the crowd, looking for Spencer.
When you found him you rushed to him. Calling out his name, he turned, and you ran into his arms.
"Spencer." You wept lightly and he held you, wrapping his arms around you as he held you tightly.
"You did it." He whispered and you nodded.
"We did it." You told him pulling away.
He nodded and kissed your forehead.
   "You're amazing." He murmured.
  You shuddered lightly.
"Amazingly gross. I- I need to change. Steve..." You muttered and he nodded.
"I think JJ might have a change of clothes.... Or I could ask Penelope?" He suggested and you nodded hating the blood on your clothes.
Leading you towards his team mates, he kissed your forehead.
When you got there Derek clapped you on the shoulder, congratulating you for your quick thinking.
Hotch nodded to you in respect and Emily and JJ fretted over you.
Emily gave you one of her shirts, and you borrowed a pair of sweats from Morgan.
"Thanks guys." You smiled tightly as Spencer held you to his side, one arm wrapped around your waist.
Leaning into his shoulder you closed your eyes. Today definitely didn't go to plan.
You found out later after you asked what happened, that the woman was named Marissa Timmins. Her son was killed in a school shooting after one of the teachers snapped.
The boy was eight. The snap occured after she found out that the man who'd killed her child was going with an insanity plea.
That being said the gunshot you'd heard was her... well taking her life into her own hands.
Everyone was deemed okay but were understandably shaken up. Luckily no children were harmed. Haley was being treated for a gunshot wound to her hip and Victor had been shot in the abdomen but was rushed to the hospital.
It seemed the only casualties this time were Steve and Marissa.
That night Spencer had taken you home and stayed with you the entire time, which the team understood. Several parents sent you thank you cards, and so did the kids. School had been cancelled for the rest of the week so you slept in, or tried to.
The nightmares weren't helping but waking up in Spencer's arms calmed your racing heart.
You were glad you had him. So glad. That being said Steve's funeral was on Thursday, and then despite how everyone else felt you attended Marissa's as well.
Maybe it was to see how her family saw her before she lost her child, maybe it was to try and get to know her for who she had been, or maybe it was so you could put a face to the woman who'd killed so many people.
It was closed casket for her, but the pictures showed enough. As for Steve's, well you felt terrible. Seeing his wife and two daughters, it broke your heart.
You offered your condolences and Mrs. Groves held you for a long time. She thanked you for being there for him in his final moments.
Spencer waited for you both times, ready to hold you as you sobbed.
You never understood how Spencer could do this, see people die, day in and day out but you loved him for it.
Standing on your tip toes you pecked him on the lips.
"Let's go home?" You asked and nodded walked around the car and opening your door.
"Let's go home." He confirmed kissing your cheek.

I may or may not have just sent the 3 word challenge in my real account instead of anon... I'm sorry. Please don't answer there. :)
When you post, post answering here please.
Again, much love,
📚🌻
Don't worry dear! Your identity shall remain a secret 🥰 Here's yet another fic with my Resident Evil OC: Gwen Winters (she’s an adult guys, don’t worry. However this is still an Older Man/Younger Woman relationship)
The words dear  📚🌻 Anon gave me in their previous ask were: Unruly, endurable and system. Please enjoy!
What happens in the gym....
Pairing: Chris Redfield x Female OC
Warnings: Swearing, Spoiler Free 😊
Genre: Angsty Romance
“Sure, throw me in the fire like you always do, Leon!“ Chris snaps, clenching his fists tightly as he glares at his best friend while the two stand in the dimly lit gym.
“Chris, you’re a BSAA captain, for the love of God! You should know better than to complain about something as little as this!“ Leon, while significantly calmer tone and demeanor-wise, is glaring daggers of his own.
“Why me, damn it?! And why her?!“ Chris is not done with his attempts to get out of the situation Leon’s trying to land him in and his partner’s honestly done with it.
“And why not?! You see the same potential I see, why would it be so hard to train her? She’s a quick learner, she’s disciplined when she wants to be and she’s already skilled to a certain degree. You’ve made soldiers out of total wimps before, why is she such a hassle to you?!“
“Because she’s disciplined when she wants to be and I guarantee she won’t want to when she’s around me. She’s unruly, selfish, arrogant and a Chris-phobe. I’m telling you, she hates me!“
It’s about time Leon’s had enough of this conversation. To be honest, he was done with it as soon as it started but he stayed, thinking he’d be able to change Chris’ mind but seeing as how this is a hopeless case, he’s just been wasting his time. “Does she? Or are you projecting your hate for her onto her?” Slinging his duffel bag containing his training gear over his shoulder, Leon finally makes that realization that these are ten minutes of his life he’ll never get back and storms out of the gym without another word.
Chris doesn’t attempt to stop him, in fact, he’s relieved he left. He sighs, silently hating himself for all the shit he said and how he meant none of it. It was all hard bullshit and he doesn’t know whether to be thankful or disappointed that Leon didn’t realize. Either way, he’s been cleared of possible suspicion, even if training the newest BSAA rookie still remains as his task.
Gwen Winters, she’s such a fucking handful. One cannot tell if it’s because she’s angry with the world, angry with herself or just straight up picked up on the habits of the family that took her in when she was rescued from Raccoon City where she was held as an experiment hamster. A chemistry project basically. Ethan and Mia were recovering from the events back in Louisiana at the time, still probably are, that is not some shit you get over, so they thought having another person in the house would help them. And help Gwen did. See, Gwen isn’t a handful with everyone. In fact, she’s a real sweetheart and Chris knows it too, despite his bogus claims. He knows she’s got a heart and soul of gold and is built with the will of a BSAA soldier already. All she needs is a bit better fighting skills and she’s good to go.
He sees how she acts with everyone around him. She’s been quick to make friends with Jill and his sister Claire and she’s even got Leon’s liking and trust which is hella hard to get, especially after all the shit with Ada. She’s overall a super sweet and lovely girl, even with him from time to time. He’s seen her welcoming, friendly smiles whenever he stops by the Winters’ home. He’s heard her laugh at the jokes he rarely cracks.
Then why does she act like she hates him so often? And why does he claim he hates her?
Chris is snapped back to reality by the sound of rough impact. It’s a very distinct noise, one he places immediately: the sound of fists hitting a punching bag. It’s the middle of the night, almost midnight actually, and knowing how lazy the soldiers on his team are, he can only assume it’s either his sister or Jill, given that Leon just left. However, they’ve had people sneak in to train for free before, so it’d be for the best if he went to check who was releasing some pent up energy on the poor punching bag. Judging by the intensity of the punches being thrown, sounds like the person might be angry as well.
And they have every right to be. Because they are Gwen.
Chris’ face goes a bit red at the sight of the infuriated rookie giving the punching bag her all, punishing it the way she’d want to do to her superior she just heard call her all the names she hates being referred by.
“Winters I-“
“Unruly?“ Punch “Selfish?” Punch “Arrogant?” Punch
She stills herself, sighing and wiping the droplets of sweat from her forehead with the back of her hand, “You say all that and expect me not to be a Chris-phobe?” She lets out a bitter laugh, rolling her shoulders before continuing her wrath over the piece of equipment she’s threatening to destroy. She hasn’t spared him a single look yet, something he’s rather grateful for because the last thing he wants to see is whatever her gaze is hiding right now. “I’ll talk to Leon.” She says, her voice leveled and breathy, far from the pissed off tone she was just using. This calmness is a lot scarier though. “I’ll tell him I don’t want you to be my trainer. To be perfectly clear, I never wanted you to train me in the first place. I’m just not the type to complain, you know. I’m not picky. Beggers can’t be choosers. I take what I can get. And you were all I was offered, but...” she trails off, delivering a particularly hard punch, “It’s not gonna work. I may not be picky, but I know when to draw the line. I know when I deserve better.”
“Kid, you really have no idea what the case really is here.“ He attempts desperately, taunted by the thought of acting on his instincts and approaching her even if that means being the recipient of one of those hard punches.
“You know, I’m strong. I’m skilled. I can hold my own in a fight quite nicely. I’m endurable. I’m not afraid to work my ass off and sweat and pant like a dog after workouts. There’s not a line I wouldn’t cross, but you still choose to make me feel lesser than any soldier you’ve ever come across, that’s really lovely of you, Captain Redfield.“
“Winters, please...“
“It’s ok, I won’t tell Ethan and Mia. I’m sure they’ll send you to hell over it. I’m not petty like that.“
He’s had enough. He’s had enough of hearing that hurt tone in her voice. He’s done hearing these words she’s so certain are true but aren’t. He’s done lying to her and to himself. Before he can even think twice about it, he grabs her by the arms gently but firmly, turning her to face him despite her hostile attempts to free herself from his hold like a wild animal caught in a trap. He’s surprised when she relaxes, probably seeing that as a quicker way out of the situation rather than struggling though if she tried to free herself any longer he would’ve probably let her go.
“Fucking hell, Gwen, listen to me.“ He looks her dead in the eyes, catching onto the spark of shock created by his use of her first name. But he also sees something else, something that looks dangerously a lot like tears. He knows she won’t cry, especially not in front of him, but knowing that he’s the cause behind the welling of those crystal droplets in her always shiny, always smiling eyes breaks him. When she doesn’t look away nor protest, he continues, “I can’t be your captain. I can’t be your trainer. I can’t be any of that. I’m a strictly professional man, and it’d be highly unprofessional of me to take you in as my soldier.”
“But why?“ She’s fully aware she sounds like a whiny kid - exactly how she thinks he envisions her sometimes - but she couldn’t care less. She wants and needs answers. She knows she won’t be able to fall asleep or keep coming back to the training center if she doesn’t get them.
It’s blatantly clear this is far from easy for Chris. His first instinct is to look away, let go of her, run away like he always does - not that she’d let him do such a thing but still. He’s finds the words impossible to spit out yet he oh so desperately feels the need to get them out of his system. And so, he gathers all the strength within him and finally forces himself to say it.
“Because a captain isn’t supposed to look at a soldier the way I look at you.“
Sure, it sounds cryptic as heck but he has no doubt she’ll catch on. Gwen is a smart and sharp girl, among many other things. She confirms this when barely three seconds after he’s said it, he notices her eyes widening
“Sir, I-“
“Don’t.“ He says simply, a small, regretful smile playing across his lips as his hand slides down her arm to take hold of hers, “I just admitted my dirtiest secret to you and you are still gonna remind me how unprofessional I am by using my title, Kid?“
She purses her lips, the shock momentarily replaced by her signature mild glare, “Well, you just admitted your biggest secret to me and yet you still choose to call me ‘Kid’, huh?”
He chuckles, letting his other hand repeat the movements of the first, “Sorry, force of habit.” His thumbs brush against her knuckles briefly as his head falls, his gaze fixating on where their bodies are connected, “You know, I didn’t tell you this to get myself any pity or anything. I just wanted you to understand and....wanted to get it off my chest. Ethan will kill me if he finds out, won’t he?” He suddenly asks, regaining the courage to look up at her once again.
She giggles, “Who says he’s gonna find out?”
Chris bites the inside of his cheek, shaking his head, “You’re right, there’s nothing really to find out abo-”
Gwen has never been a chatter nor can she tolerate when people beat around the bush so she’s quick to cut them off sometimes, no matter how rude that may seem or sound. However, just to clarify, her chosen method of cutting a person off isn’t always kissing them. Just saying - this is a special situation requiring special methods.
Taken aback by the sudden feeling of her lips on his, Chris’ eyes close automatically but not even a second later he responds to the kiss properly: wrapping his arms around Gwen’s waist as her hands travel up to cup his face. The kiss is short - too short if either of them is to be asked - but it’s worth all the words they didn’t say despite wanting to.
When they pull away, Gwen gives him a mischievous smile, “Now he could find out about that and then shit would go south. That’d suck, wouldn’t it Chris?“
He’s only ever heard her say his name twice, once in passing conversation with Claire and once earlier when she paraphrased his term ‘Chris-phobe’, both time spoken with some dose of dislike he now realizes was a cover-up all along. Turns out the two are a lot more alike than they initially thought. Regardless, hearing her say his name with fondness instead of bitterness makes his heart flutter, his body yearn to have her closer, his lips wanting to be in contact with hers again. But he’s a patient and self-controlled man, he’s nothing if not willpower sculpted in a human body, so he keeps his distance, waiting for her to pick the moves, waiting for her to make the decisions just like she’s his captain.
“Big time.“ He manages to say, voice coarse all of a sudden, barely able to leave his throat. “So it stays here, right?”
She giggles again, bringing her lips within an inch or two away from his, taunting him, threatening to break his self-control, “What happens in the gym stays in the gym, Redfield.”
Golden rules of discretion, ones he mustn’t break ever. Especially not when his captain - Captain Gwen Winters - holds so much power over him.

Hi I saw that thirsts were open and ✨oh boy✨ I would let Tsukishima Kei degrade me to hell with no remorse ✌🏻
tw: degradation; “sir”; dacryphilia; after-care because i am weak and need to be told im pretty; also a little bit of praise but not necessarily praise kink lol;
ps, reminder that ~drabble~ requests are OPEN! this includes sfw/nsfw for bnha, haikyuu, dragon ball, avatar, or jujutsu kaisen!
Your chin wobbles and your eyes look like glass, your fragility projected in your sweet little irises. Tsukishima smirks, tugging his lower lip into his mouth by his canine tooth, “What are you crying for? I’m giving you exactly what you asked for.”
The plush of your ass is red, throbbing with welts and begging for mercy. You grit your teeth and try to keep your muscles from flexing too much, the pain rippling through you with each small movement. You dig your head into the pillow so you don’t have to look over your shoulder at his condescending tawny gaze, almost like he is glowering down at you for having the audacity to take up the same space, even though you two have shared this apartment for nearly a year.
“I should give you something to cry about,” he licks his lips and digs the heel of his palm into the small crevice between your shoulder blades, shoving your chest down into the mattress.
To accent his words, he grips your hip with the hand not preoccupied with pinning you to the sheets, blunt nails dug harshly into your skin until he’s left evidence of his presence behind. A sob rips from your lungs, but is muffled by the down of the pillow you stifle yourself with. Tsukishima huffs out a snicker and resumes his relentless pace, each slap of his hips against your ass reminding you of how harsh his hands were mere moments prior.
“K-Kei,” you garble his name, drool seeping from the curve of your lips as you whine, trying to move your hips to no avail, his iron grip on your waist unwavering. Another smack is slashed across your backside and you still your body, squinting out tears, soaking the pillow beneath you.
You feel the uncharacteristically soft plush of his lips press to your shoulder, and your body relaxes under the administration of the affections. It is but a quick reprieve before his harsh, calloused palms and biting words make their return.
A cry parts your lips when Tsukishima’s middle finger presses against the small bundle of nerves at the apex of your hips, ruthless in his ministrations. You warn him through driveled words that you’re going to make a mess on him, that you’re going to unravel if he continues to touch you like this. You’re not sure if you’re speaking coherently, but it’s all the talk you can afford at a moment like this.
“Filthy little whore,” Tsukishima huffs against your throat, nipping at your ear each time his body ruts up into you. The quick, salacious drag of his cock against your innermost parts is a mixture of pleasure and painstaking ache. He snickers when you wriggle your hips, begging quietly for more than he’s giving you, “Such an eager little bitch. God, you’re so desperate. Aren’t you?”
Your hands scramble behind your back to try and seek out his wrist, his forearm, or his knee. Something, anything, to anchor you before you float away. A weak little, “please, Kei,” trembles from your lips and he sighs like you’re the biggest inconvenience known to man. Even still, a palm reaches forward and presses into the mattress, close enough that you can angle your wrist to wrap your delicate fingers around his pulse point, counting each thud of his veins to bring yourself back to earth.
“So needy,” his tone holds no malice this time, although you suspect he didn’t originally mean for it to come out so tenderly. Tsukishima clears his throat and pistons forward into you to try to get you to forget any benign slip of the tongue he might have made. A high-pitched whine makes your throat ache and he rolls his eyes, a motion you catch with the way your chin is tucked against your shoulder, “What, your fingers can’t make you feel like this? You can’t figure this out on your own? How pathetic.”
You know if you come now, he’ll punish you for it later, since he hasn’t given you permission to fall apart on his cock just yet. His moan is guttural to the point that it sounds like he’s growling when you clamp down on him, your walls begging for reprieve.
He does not grant you the solace you are so desperately searching for, instead peeling his touch from your clit to pinch at your nipple, the sharp lightning strike to your sensitive bud making you keen. Your head slams back into his collarbone and you whimper at the pain of bone on bone, but Tsukishima is as steady and resilient as they come. His voice is low and gravelly in your ear, patronizing to the perfect degree, “I swear to God if you come before I tell you to, you won’t know what pleasure is for weeks. Do you understand?”
Your body is worn out, overstimulation making your cunt flex and your thighs quiver under the strain of holding yourself up for so long. You gulp and sniffle and you cannot react or respond to him, your mouth unable to catch up to your mind.
“I expect an answer,” his tone is clipped and a fresh bout of tears well up in your eyes, but the way he speaks does little to quell the slick between your thighs. Each slap of his hand and his words only washes a new wave of arousal between the walls of your cunt, translucent white dripping down his cock and staining the bed until the sheets are damp.
“Y-Yes,” you manage, nodding so hard your whole body shakes.
The world ceases to spin but your mind cannot stop, so you’re stuck somewhere between upright and dizzy.
Tsukishima’s mouth is close to your ear, the bow of his lips dragging along your lobe, “I hope I misheard you, or did you really not address me properly? Are you looking for a punishment, brat?”
Before you can answer, Tsukishima’s palm strikes your ass several times, until you’re foaming at the mouth with an apology, “Yes sir, yes sir! I promise I-I understand, I-I’m sorry!” And you’re not sure how many times you beg for his mercy, for his forgiveness, but you do so until you’re unable to speak. Between the way his cock spears your cunt, tapping against your spine with each thrust, and the sweet yet poisonous words that fall from his maw, you can’t hold yourself back any longer.
And so you beg.
You beg and you beg and you beg for him to either stop his torturous actions or let you feel the ecstasy of release. Your hands claw at him until you leave trails of red on his pale skin, your tears soak the pillow until you cannot make out a dry spot of fabric, and your knees knock mercilessly into his hips to try and still his movements. What you cannot see through the bleariness of your tears and subservient haze is the glint in his irises, honey bleeding down his spine until he feels the sickeningly sweet taste of it in his gut. As if by some form of osmosis he can taste the thick of your cream as you drip down his balls, and he can’t stop himself when he sneers, “Making a mess on these sheets, sweetheart, what a filthy little thing you are.”
“Please,” your voice is so small, so fragile, and Tsukishima feels that familiar twinge in his gut when you fixate your pouting gaze on him. He grits his teeth and turns you so you’re on your back, ankle hooked by his shoulder, only this position does little to help you stave off the impending doom of your orgasm.
“Gonna listen to me, yeah?” his words are rushed and you know that means he is near the end of his patience and his resolve. Tsukishima grunts and his eyes screw shut, hips pausing so he is buried to the hilt, “When I tell you to come, you better come.”
Your teeth clang together with the ferocity in which you nod to tell him you’re listening, and that you will obey. Tsukishima’s cock pulses within your walls, and the reaction makes you cant your hips forward and your eyes roll back just enough that he feels feral at the sight.
“C’mon then,” Tsukishima near-growls in your ear, pressing his chest against yours as his body begs for the closeness this near to pleasure. His hips bruise your supple skin and your fingernails find the flesh of his shoulders to make your own mark, both of you branding the other in the heated moments of ecstasy. He nips your jaw and noses your cheek, voice dropping an octave and you feel the molten magma churn in your belly, “Make a mess on my cock.”
As if that final phrase, one of permission and wanton lust, sets your body free.
A sobbing whine sits pretty on your tongue, eyes screwed shut as you clutch him with whatever parts of yourself you can find within you to move closer. His torso leans back, eyes raking appreciatively over your shaking frame before settling on the conjunction of your body and his. Amber irises narrow as he watches his dick slide between your folds, dripping with your combined arousal, and his whole body shudders.
His name rakes from the back of your throat and it burns but you can’t focus on anything other than the gushing of your insides, aborted thrusts bringing your hips closer as you grip his biceps with unabashed intensity. Your cunt feels warm and you chock it up to your own orgasm, but then you feel Tsukishima’s cock softening slightly, the head of his pulling away from your cervix as he works himself through his own high.
“K-Kei,” your wobbling voice forces his eyelids to open, warm irises seeking out the sight of you.
“You did good,” his mouth finds yours and a soft kiss is volleyed between the two of you, “Proud of you.”
Your eyes are still blown wide, pupils swallowing the color of your irises. Tsukishima nudges his nose against your jaw and kisses faintly down your jugular until he reaches your collarbone, a teasing lick administered to the prickled skin. Your hands go slack against his shoulders, kneading at the muscled plane until you feel your soul settle.
“Did good,” you echo, swallowing the lump in your throat, “I listened!”
Tsukishima laughs, only this time it is genuine and free of it’s usual sarcastic lilt. He massages your thighs and kisses your ankle before resting your legs back against the mattress, still caged between your knees. He nods, reaching up with one hand to brush his knuckle against your cheek, “Yeah, you did. And what happens to pretty girls who listen?”
His kisses trail between your breasts and down over the bulge of your belly until his mouth is hovered over your core, your words and his overlapping as you watch him in awe, his pink tongue slipping from between his lips to accentuate the end of his sentence and yours.
“They get rewarded.”

Part 1: THE BEGINNING
The plot owner is going to visit you today. I'm sincerely sorry for my mistake, I misunderstood. Please resolve the issue with him gently.
You scoff at the message. What the actual fuck? Fury floods through your blood and you clench your fists.
This cannot be happening.
After such a long time you had finally scraped enough money to lease a place for your bakery shop. It's been your dream since so long and after years of hard work it was finally coming true- until today. Apparently the real estate agent is nothing but a fathead and for whatever goddamn reason, she leased you the place when it was clearly not up to be leased. The building owner is on his way now- to possibly kick you out.
No, you cannot let that happen. It is their fault and because of their miscommunication or whatever you are not going to give this place up which you worked so hard for.
If he thinks you'll give in so easily, he has another thing coming.
A Mercedes Benz pulls up in front of your shop just as you finish screwing one of the decoration lights.
He's here.
You take in a deep breath and march out of the shop as a tall male comes of the car. You almost stop in your tracks to gape at him- broad shoulders, gorgeous rich black hair that matches a sculptured face- he's simply breathtaking. No one should be that gorgeous. And he's young- why the fuck is he so young? Does he seriously own this building?
No no no. Stay focused.
He takes long steps towards you and even before he can reach you, you snap, "I'm not giving up this place so don't waste your time."
He stops right in front of you, his hands in his pockets and raises a brow at you. He chuckles- how dare he, before saying, "You do know that this is my building, right?"
"So?"
"So, it means I can kick out a nuisance like you anytime I want." His eyes go dark as he stares you down.
Nuisance? What the fuck? You take in a deep breath, trying to stop yourself from reaching out and choking him. He's so fucking gorgeous and infuriating, damn it.
"Mr. Choi, I've leased this place for two years and if you want it so much, come back two years later and we can talk about it."
"Leave while I'm being polite," his tone is gravelly and his eyes bore into yours. You shiver slightly.
"But I paid for this place! This is mine now!" You yell, unable to hold yourself together. "If you were so concerned about your building then you should have been careful that your agent was leasing it!"
"I admit that it was her fault, a huge one at that matter but I need this building. I'll give you 3 days to take everything and leave. My workers will start their renovation work from next week." He says and turns around his heel, ready to head back.
"No! I will not be moving out! I've worked so hard to lease this place! I even brought all the furniture for my shop! You have no right to do this!" You shout at him. Fuck that son of a bitch.
He stares at you with a bored look, "You've 3 days."
"No!" You whine, stopping him in his tracks again. "If you really want this place then give me some more time. At least a few months."
He marches back to you, his jaw ticking, "Do you think I'm here to play games? You move out in 3 days or my men will drag you out from here." He warns, eyes glinting.
Motherf-
You can't hold in your temper. So you walk past him and towards his fancy car and draw a long nice scratch on the body using your screwdriver. After being satisfied with your handiwork, you turn back to him.
He stares at you, dumbfounded. His driver looks the same except he looks a bit scared. You smirk at Choi, crossing your arms.
He still looks surprised and he scoffs as if he can't believe what happened. He rakes a hand through his hair, his jaw clenched.
"Expect a call from my insurance company. You'll have to pay for what you just did." That's all he says before walking past you to car as his driver quickly fires on the engine.
You mutely watch him leave.
Fuck. Oh fuck.
What have you done?
-
You stare at Choi's personal number that you managed to get from the real estate agent. Shit. You've to call him. You've to apologize. You're in no condition to pay for his damn fancy car.
Shit. Shit. Why did you do that?
You bite your lip, staring at your phone screen, mustering up the courage to call him. You've to apologize and somehow get him to forgive you.
Oh heavens, here goes nothing.
With shaky hands you ring him up and hold your breath. After several rings he picks up, his voice gruff, "Choi here."
You clear your throat and inhale deeply, "Mr.Choi, it's me, ___. We...uhm, met earlier today." You try to stable your voice.
The line is silent for a moment and you're afraid he has hung up but he speaks, his voice laced with a chuckle, "Well, well, to what do I owe this pleasure?"
You swallow, "Mr.Choi I called you to um... apologize for what I did to your car. Please understand that I was really angry then and I sincerely apologize for what I did. I'm so sorry."
"Okay," is all he says. You ask nervously, "So, will be please be kind enough to cancel the charges against me?"
"Do you think that a sorry from you will repair my car?"
"I- please, sir, you've to understand that I'm in no condition to afford for the damages... I-I know I'm responsible but please understand-"
"You want to keep the place to yourself, you want me to drop the charges against you- what you think I am? Some sort of genie who'll grant all your wishes?"
"No- sir-"
"Besides you don't even sound so sorry," His voice sounds teasing and you exhale loudly.
This son of a-
"I don't have time for this bullshit so-"
"No sir please! I'll do anything, please cancel the charges. Then we can talk about your building, I'm sure we can come to a conclusion."
"Are you trying to make a deal with me?"
"Sir- I just-, please, please understand my situation," you almost beg.
The line is quiet for a long time and you're about to break into tears but then you hear his voice, "Fine, I'll text you a place. Meet me there at 8 tomorrow evening. Don't be late." Then the line is dead.
-
You're not dumb enough to go where a stranger tells you to go without telling anybody. So, on the morning of the appointment, you tell your friend the location of the restaurant and in case you were found with a slitted throat, at least the police will have a lead. After that you decide to google Choi, wanting to have a little bit more info on him. Sure enough, he's the son of a filthy rich businessman well known in the country and Choi, himself is the creator of two business companies.
Sure, it'd be nothing for him to dump your body in the water or poison your food.
-
Evening comes quicker than you expected and you rush to get ready. You pick a maroon knee length dress that is what you believe- hope- to be appropriate for the fancy restaurant. It's not like you have a lot of dresses to choose from. You take a cab and just as the clock hits five minutes past eight, you're rushing into the restaurant.
The receptionist asks you if have booked a seat to which you reply that you're here to meet Mr.Choi. Then you're led through a fancy lobby and into the private dining area, where the said male sits. He's dressed in a grey vest and a pressed linen white shirt underneath, with the sleeves rolled up, showing his muscular arms- damn.
His eyes meet yours and you feel an electricity jolt up your spine.
Lord please help me tonight.
"Good evening, Mr.Choi," you murmur, gently sitting down.
The bastard has the balls to smirk as he crosses his arms over his chest, "Good evening, Ms___. I was wondering if you bailed out on me."
You chuckle nervously, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. He grins, motioning towards the menu in front of you,"Shall we order?"
Your eyes glide over the fancy food and the fancier prices. 85$ for a fucking piece of meat?
After chewing on your lip and thinking too much about what to order, you go with a plate of salad and pasta.
"Do you have any wine preferences?" He asks, eyeing the wine menu. Why's he acting so nice? What's his deal?
"Er...I'll let you choose," you say.
After ordering a fancy bottle of wine, Choi folds his hands over the table and looks at you, a small smile playing on his lips.
"So..shall we talk business now?" You offer, unsure.
He nods but stays quiet which you take as a sign to start first, "I only have two things to ask for. Please cancel the charges and please give me a little more time to look for a place. It's impossible to find another place in 3 days. I've paid for the lease here and I've also ordered the furniture. And then there is a monetary issue. Please understand my situation."
He pretends to think, pursuing his lips, "Hmm, I'm afraid that's too much you're asking from me."
"Mr. Choi, I'm sure a man like you can help me with that much." You try to butter his ego.
"Again, I'm afraid you don't know me. If you had any idea about a man like me, you wouldn't say that." His eyes darken.
Fuck. He won't bulge. Why is he so stubborn?
"Sir- please, I sincerely apologize for my actions yesterday, I wasn't in my right mind."
"If only sorry could cover it," he says, nonchalant, leaning back into his chair. He eyes you quietly, his eyes scanning you carefully as your palms grow sweaty.
You are interrupted as the waiter serves you your dinner and pours you the wine. As soon as he's gone, you gulp down the wine, trying to calm yourself.
Damn, it tastes nice.
Choi laughs at your actions before an evil smile crawls up his face. You swallow, meeting his gaze. What's he thinking?
"You see, nothing comes for free. I'll take off the charges against you and I'll give you time to look for another place- actually no, I'll pay for a nicer place for you to open your shop. But in return you've to give me something."
Fuck. You eye him warily.
"What?" You squeak.
"Marry me."
You choke on your food very unceremoniously followed by a lot of coughs. You sputter, trying to get yourself under control. Meanwhile he simply watches you, a playful smile on his lips.
When you can somewhat speak, you breath, "I...I think I misheard you."
"You didn't. I asked you to marry me."
You gape at him, utterly confused, almost certain this is a dream or nightmare. He simply offers you silence as you try to process what he said.
You're left even more confused.
What? Marry him? What the actual fuck?
"Would you please... enlighten me?" You murmur.
He grins, leaning over the table, "You're thinking too much. It'll be a pretend marriage. I need someone who'll pretend to be my wife for a year or so, so that my father hands over his company to me- which he won't unless I get married and settle. It's as simple as that."
Your mouth only grows wider. That's nowhere near simple.
After processing his words in your head for a long time you mumble, "So...you need me to be your pretend wife for like a year and in return you cancel the charges and give me more time to look for a place?"
"It's actually more than that sweetheart. I'll pay every penny for your shop. I'll make sure you have a successful business. Be my pretend wife and I'll give you the biggest and best bakery shop this country has ever seen."
You're dumbfounded and you can only squeak out, "Is this some sort of a hoax?"
He chuckles, "Say yes and I'll have a contract prepared with all our terms and conditions."
"I- I need to think about it," you rush out. Think? Damn it, were you seriously considering it?
Yes, yes you were.
This is a lifetime opportunity.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
Choi nods, "I'm sure you need to. But I expect an answer quickly. You've until tomorrow evening."
"H-huh?" You're lost.
He stands up putting on his jacket, "You've my number, call me when you make your decision." He gives you a look and just like that he's out of the room.
You're left with your half eaten plate of food.
-
"So you are telling me that a filthy rich, smoking hot motherfucker asked you to marry him?" Jane's voice echos through the phone.
You rub your temples, staring at your lap, "Yes."
"Bitch if you don't want to do this then give me his number. I'm more than willing to help him out."
"Jane, I'm serious."
"Me too, babe."
You groan, flopping into the bed. "Can you believe it? I still can't wrap my head around it." You whisper.
"You're thinking too much. It's not like you're going to be married to him forever."
"I know but still it's so scary...If I say yes I'll be living with a stranger for the next year."
"A sexy as sin stranger for that matter."
"Gosh- will you stop!"
"Okay okay," you hear her sigh. "Listen I know it's scary and all but this is a win win situation for you, think about it. You're going to be living as a millionaire's wife and when you're divorced you're gonna have your own shop. This is a lifetime opportunity, I mean how many of us gets this? This is like one of those romance movies where-"
"Okay I get it. Thank you for your precious help." You roll your eyes.
" You're welcome!" She laughs. "I'll be waiting for updates!"
"Piss off." You laugh, hanging up.
You stare at the ceiling, your mind numb. This is overwhelming- unreal. Why can't he just marry someone prettier, richer? He can have any woman he wants. Dozens of questions gather in your mind but despite the answers, you've made your decision.
You're going to get married.

Yondu & The Secretary  Chapter 2: The Love Bug
Chapter 1 Here  Chapter 3 Here A few months go by aboard the ravager ship. You find out that Yondu is the Captain, and Kraglin, the Xandarian, is his first mate. The ship is called the Eclector, and some of the guys on board are total pigs. Yondu sets up a small office space for you to work out of and you find that the work is surprisingly simple. You get into a routine and start to really settle in. You also come to find that Yondu is particularly kind; to you. To the crew, he could be a total ass. Your slight attraction to the Captain was only a thought when you first met him on Krylor, but every day it kept growing and growing with how sweet he was. Maybe it was because you were a woman? Maybe it was because you were Terran? You couldn’t be sure. This might become a problem.
One evening, your office door creaks open loudly, and you hear heavy boots thunking into the room. Yondu. You smirk softly at the thought. “So, you goin’ to Geff’s little get together?” The Captain’s voice came from behind you as you finished up the data entry from the crew’s last heist. It was Geff’s birthday. The boys decided to throw him a little party at the bar on the ship. “Me? Heh, no…probably not.” You hadn’t looked at him yet, but something caught your senses. Something, different. Something…intoxicating. Was Yondu wearing cologne? Whatever it was, it was messing with your head. It smelled like the forest back home – right after the rain, blended with tones of spices and notes of musk. “Well, why the hell not?” He seemed a little surprised. Hurt, maybe? You spun around on your desk chair to face him, “Hmm…. let me put it to you this way: I am not about to be the only female on the ship in a room full of drunk Ravagers. I already get harassed and catcalled on a daily basis, Yondu! Why on Earth would I want to put myself in a situation like that?” “You Terrans sure do use the strangest expressions. We ain’t on Earth…uh….Terra I mean.” He said with a chuckle. The small chuckle at his own words made you giggle too. “Well, regardless, I just don’t think it would be very wise of me to put myself in a bad spot, that’s all.” “Well I’ll be there. I can make sure no one bothers you too much. Then would you go?” “I don’t know Yondu…I mean Geff is great and all but –“  You were cut off by loud laughter and heavy footsteps of several ravagers going past your office door. A lot of the boys were already headed to the bar to get the party started. “ – but I don’t want to be a bother. Besides, if you show even the slightest bit of protective behavior around me, couldn’t that start rumors? Wouldn’t they think it was odd? Some of these guys really talk…”
Yondu scoffed with a slight wave of his hand. “Who cares what these idiots think. I’m the Captain, and I can protect whoever the hell I feel like. Besides, how am I supposed to keep my shit in order without my assistant who helps with our operations? The boys will probably understand that their payouts could get disrupted if they mess with our lil’ secretary, right? Everybody knows you don’t mess with a Ravager’s units.” He finished with a wink. That wink…that smirk…his scent…oh no. Your head starts to feel fuzzy. Your sternum is growing tight, and butterflies explode by the thousands in your stomach. You feel like your arms are floating. You start to notice that your head seems to be wobbling a little bit and you find yourself staring at his lips. Stop being stupid! Say something! Get a grip! His smile starts to falter after a moment or two. “Uhh…you alright?”
Your clear your throat a little louder than you wanted to, and manage to say with a shaky voice, “Uhh, yeah, no, yeah…I’m – I’m fine. I guess I’m just a little tired is all. But, fine. I’ll go, but only for a few drinks. I’m not staying out all night! I have more things I want to get updated in the system before you and Kraglin start gathering intel on your next mission.” “Fine, fine. Just a few drinks.” He motions with both his hands in the air. It did not turn out, however, to be just a few drinks. It started out that way, but the more you drank, the more you wanted to be close to him. The alcohol was making you feel a little too confident. The captain was drinking too, of course, but Centaurians have to drink quite a bit before they really start to feel anything. He was on his fifth glass of whiskey for the night, and you were on your third. You were definitely tipsy, but not terribly drunk. The scent coming off him just kept smelling better and better, your senses were stirred, and you wanted to dive into him. You are sitting next to each other on the couch in the lounge that was connected to the bar. You both listen to stories and jokes being told by Tullk, Oblo, and Kraglin. Laugher is plentiful, and you couldn’t be happier. Then, you feel your Captain move next to you as he throws his arm over the back of the couch behind you. The shift in the cushions causes you to inadvertently lean closer to him. Your cheeks turn bright pink and your heart starts pounding. You sit up straight, put your drink down on the table and politely excuse yourself. The others were too drunk to notice, or care, but Yondu notices. After a moment or two he gets up and follows you to the bar. You hastily get yourself a tall glass of water, and chug it down. “What was that about back there? You alright?” He asked. “Feelin’ sick?” “No, no I’m fine. I just think it’s time I headed back to my cabin. I need to get some sleep. I have an early start tomorrow.” You said as you put your glass down on the bar. Yondu eyes you suspiciously, but doesn’t press the matter. “Can I at least walk you back? These boy’s is pretty drunk. I don’t want you to run into any trouble.” “Yeah, I guess that would be alright.” You fiddle with the empty glass on the bar in front of you. What am I even doing? Do I really have feelings for him? Is this seriously happening? What the hell am I supposed to do?! Your job on the ship is simple: free up the first mate’s time by entering new recruit information, keep transmission logs up to date, work up data sheets for new missions, and keep an updated archive on clients, easy heist planets, kree intel, etc… That was it! Nowhere in your job description are you supposed to fall for your Captain, your boss! “Well…should we be headin’ out?” Yondu’s voice broke you out of your thoughts. You looked over at him, his eyes were touched with slight concern, confusion maybe. “Captain, I….” You began, but the words just stopped coming out. You close your mouth and shake your head. “Never mind, I’m ready. Let’s go.” You both walk slowly back your cabin. Yondu is silent, as are you. The only sound to be heard is both yours and Yondu’s boots clunking down the walkways of the Eclector. When you approach your door, you hesitate.
“Goodnight Captain, thank you for walking me back. I appreciate it…and thank you for having my back tonight. I was able to actually relax and have a nice time.” You begin to open your door and walk in when you feel a large, warm hand on your shoulder. You turn to look at his hand, and your eyes trail up his arm to his shoulder, and then to his face. You both lock eyes, and your heart stops. “Why do you keep callin’ me that? Captain. You haven’t really called me that much since you boarded for the first time a few months back.” “I – I’m sorry. I just…you’re the Captain.” He took his hand from your shoulder, “Yeah, I know that. But it just feels wrong somehow. You typically call me by my name when we ain’t around the crew.” You couldn’t help but smile a little. “Alright, Yondu.” You said with a slight chuckle. “Is that better?” “Yeah. I like it when you call me by my name.” A small tinge of purple comes to his cheeks. “But don’t go tellin’ anybody that! You still gotta’ call me Captain or Sir around the crew.” “Hahaha, of course. I promise I won’t tell a soul. Cross my heart.” You used your index finger to draw an X over your chest. “I swear, you Terrans are odd…I don’t even know what that means.” You giggle again, “It means I’m serious. As serious as I can be. I won’t tell anyone. You have a reputation and status to maintain with your crew, and I completely understand that.” You turn and step into your cabin. Looking over your shoulder you smile a small, bashful smile at him. “Goodnight, Yondu.” With that, you closed your door. Yondu stood at the closed door and quietly said, “Goodnight, Darlin’.” He continued to stand there, frozen in place. What the hell was that? Why do I feel funny? My heart is pounding, my head is reeling. I care about what she calls me? Since when? Darlin’? When have I ever called anyone that? He shook his head to free himself of where he stood, and walked back to his quarters. You laid in your bed that night, unable to sleep. A big, stupid grin would not leave your lips no matter how hard you tried to get rid of it. Oh. My. Gosh. I cannot believe this. I can’t believe how hard this hit me. He’s so unbelievably handsome. His scent was so intoxicating. I didn’t know he wore cologne? And that smile?! Who knew blue could look so damn good. You giggled out loud to yourself. “I have a crush on the Captain. I have a huge freakin’ crush on Yondu Udonta. What the hell?!” You continued to giggle to yourself until you heard a group of footsteps going past your door. More ravagers were headed to bed from the party. You quickly covered your mouth as if someone could possibly hear you. Once the footsteps were gone, you continued to smile and giggle like a little girl. “Wow. What on earth and am I going to do? How do I even begin to handle this?” You said to yourself. Your mind raced, and sleep eluded you all night. Meanwhile, the Captain wasn’t sleeping much either. You kept popping up in his head. Every time he would close his eyes, you appeared. It wasn’t until tonight that he realized that you looked incredible in your maroon leathers. He had always thought you were attractive, ever since he and Kraglin decided to hire you when they met you on Krylor. But this was a whole new level of attraction. It made him feel…different. He had never felt this way before, he felt vulnerable. He did not like it one bit! But on the other hand, he did? It was starting to piss him off. He threw the furs and blankets from his body and got out of bed. He picked up a communicator brace from his nightstand and pushed a few buttons. It beeped a few times, and Kraglin’s sleepy voice could be heard. “Yes, sir? Everythin’ alright?” “Boy, get to my quarters. I need to talk to ya. I’m havin’ a problem.” “Right away sir.” Yondu shut the brace off and tossed it back on the table. Within a few minutes there was a knock on the door. Yondu got up and walked to the door, flinging it open. Kraglin rubbed his eye with a fist and yawned. “What’s goin’ on Sir?” “What’s goin’ on is I need to talk to ya. Maybe you’ll know what to do…get in here!” Yondu yanked Kraglin into the room and slammed the door shut. “Siddown.” He muttered as he pushed his desk chair to the first mate. Yondu sat on the bed and fiddled with his hands for a moment. “Sir?” Kraglin asked. “What do you need help with? Somethin’ goin’ on with the crew?” “No, but there is something goin’ on…I’ve been feeling funny all night. Ever since I went with y/n to the bar for Geff’s party, my head has been fuzzy, my chest is tight, my hands are all shaky and I can’t sleep! It’s pissin’ me off! I don’t know what the problem is. I only went with her to make sure the boys didn’t do nothin’ stupid, but now I can’t think straight! Every time I close my damn eyes, I see her!” A smirk appeared on Kraglin’s face, and he started snickering at the Captain. “What?! The hell is so funny?!” Yondu barked. Kraglin’s snickering turned into full blown laughing. He couldn’t help it. Was his Captain so oblivious? “Sir, sir, I’m sorry. You really have no idea what this is?” He asked. “No! If I did, I wouldn’t have woke you up to help me figure it out, damn it!” “Sir, it sounds to me that you got bit.” Kraglin joked. “Bit? Bit by what? Like a bug or somethin’?” “Ohhhh yeah, it’s happened to me before too. It’s a nasty little sucker.” He said with a grin. “Okay, so what do I do? Am I getting’ sick or somethin’?” “Yeah, you’re sick all right. Love sick.” The first mate said with the biggest shit eatin’ grin on his face. “Lovesick? What the hell is that? That ain’t a real thing.” Yondu snorted. “Sure is, Sir. From the sounds of it, you got bit by the love bug. The only way to cure it is to get some lovin’ from the person who sent it after ya.” Kraglin couldn’t believe this was happening to his captain. This was too good. Of course, he wanted to help him out, but he wanted to taunt him first. “What on Earth are you talkin’ about boy?! Just spit it out already!” The Captain shouted. A goofy little smile appeared on his lips as he realized he just used your expression. Damn it, girl. “Alright, alright.” Kraglin said between laughs. “Cap’n, you’re in love. Plain and simple. It sounds to me like you just realized it tonight.” “Love? I don’t love nobody. I ain’t never been in love before. This can’t be right…” Yondu started searching his hands for some kind of alternative answer. “Anyone can fall in love, Cap’n. I know I have. But that was a long time ago, before I joined the crew. It really ain’t a big deal, honest. Tell me, when you think of y/n, what do you feel?” Yondu pondered Kraglin’s words for a few moments. “I feel – happy. Warm? Maybe a little nervous. Unsure of myself, ya know? I wanna touch her, make her smile, make sure she’s safe and happy, hold her hands... kiss her.” The realization hit him like a blazing meteor. “I wanna kiss her? What?! I’ve never cared about that sentimental crap before!” Kraglin just shook his head and looked down at the floor. “Cap’n, love is a strange and mysterious force. It can be exhilarating. Maybe you should investigate and find out if she feels the same way. Could be worth a shot. Who knows? Could lead to somethin’.” Yondu looked confused. “Like what?” “Heh, I don’t know, happiness?” Kraglin shrugged his shoulders and stood. “I hope that helps Sir. I’m gonna head back to bed if you don’t need anything else.” “Yeah, sure, boy. Go on.” “Night, Cap’n.” The first mate headed toward to door, but before he walked out, he heard the Captain’s voice behind him, “Hey Krags, uh, thanks.” “No problem, Sir.” Kraglin walked out of the Captain’s quarters and quietly closed the door. Yondu got back into bed, stared at the ceiling above him and smiled. Love huh? Well, ain’t that some shit.

“Cupid 1-1-7, am I hearing you correctly? You said there was an explosion?”
You scrub a hand over your face, biting back a sigh lest the comlink picks it up. “Not a literal one, sir. I’m still not sure what happened, just that when my client touched a potential match’s hand there was this...invisible blast of energy or something.”
The silence on the other end is enough to make you want to slam your head against the wall of the Razor Crest. You’d called headquarters as soon as you and Din had returned to his ship, figuring if anyone had a clue as to what the hell had happened it’d be one of your superiors.
After twenty minutes of explaining your predicament not once, but three times, you’re beginning to realize you were evidently mistaken.
“Remind me again, Cupid 1-1-7, what name was it you referred to this immortal client of yours as?” Over the comlink, your boss’ voice sounds as if he’s gargling jagged rocks, deep and throaty. You can imagine the narrowed-eyed look he’d be giving you in person and you’re grateful you’re not currently having this conversation over a holoprojector.
“I didn’t.”
Your eyes drift to the ladder leading up to the cockpit where Din is located. Something inside of you is insistent you keep Din’s identity hidden from your superiors. It’s a feeling you’ve never experienced before, certainly not with any of your former clients. Part of you thinks of the sensation as possessiveness, but what have you to be possessive of? You have no claim to him, nothing tying you to one another.
“Interesting,” your boss says, dry as the Dune Sea.
“My client is high-profile, sir. He asked me to remain discreet and I intend to uphold his request.” You clutch the comlink against your chest, taking deep breaths to keep yourself calm as you wait to hear if he believed your lie or not.
“This...incident you’ve described, it does bring to mind an event in history with similar details.” There is a shuffling sound that echoes over the device, resembling papers being picked up and flipped through. He hums, a long drawn out note that makes your skin crawl. “Yep, here’s the report right here, referencing an outburst erupting as a result of the physical contact between a potential pair.”
You wait for more information, drumming your fingers against a nearby crate.
“Unfortunately, you are not of rank to hear the specifics.”
“But—”
“I must say though, the Moff will be most interested in this development,” he continues, ignoring your protest as if you hadn’t opened your mouth at all.
Heart lodging in your throat at the mention of the head seraph, you manage to choke out, “I really don’t think that’s necessary, Mr. Hess.”
“That’s sir to you, Cupid 1-1-7.”
“Yes, sir. Sorry, sir. Forgive me, sir.” You’re two seconds from babbling yourself off a cliff and you can’t find the off switch for your mouth. “It’s just. Moff Gideon is so busy, as I’m sure you know, and I would hate to bother him with this case when I have everything under control—”
“Except that you clearly don’t. Otherwise you wouldn’t have made this call.”
His words hit you like a punch, silencing you.
“The Moff will hear about this, as well as your breaking protocol by concealing information from your superior when directly asked. No doubt he will be as displeased about your behavior as I am.”
Your eyes fall shut as you listen, slumping against the ship’s wall and sliding down onto the cold floor. You feel disconnected from the situation, as if he’s discussing someone else’s fate instead of your own.
“In the meantime,” his voice drones on, adding more weight to the pressure on your chest. “I will permit you forty-eight hours to complete your assignment before I officially relegate it to another Cupid. You will also be ordered to take a reassessment test of your basic understanding of standard Cupid regulations.”
You squeeze your eyes together tighter, feeling like you’re about to throw up. Each breath you take feels pointless, as if there is no longer any oxygen in the air, but you have enough pride left to keep you from having a breakdown with your boss still on the line.
“Do you understand the terms in which I’ve stated to you, Cupid 1-1-7?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Amor vincit omnia.” The parting mantra sounds almost sinister coming from his mouth.
“Amor vincit omnia,” you echo, forcing your voice to remain steady.
The comlink clicks off. The floodgates open not a second later.
You press your palms against your mouth, desperately trying to hold back the sobs that wrack your body so they don’t disrupt the silence of the cargo hold. The tears streaming down your face refuse to be stifled though, burning your eyes as they fall. Your head pounds in rhythm with your heartbeat, a frantic drumming counting down the seconds until you either scream or pass out. Or both.
It’s an ugly, hysterical kind of crying that can’t be stopped once started, not even when you hear movement from the ladder right before Din slides down it, boots thudding loudly against the floor.
And then it seems like Din is right there in front of you without ever having moved, unnaturally fast and stealthy, gloved fingers resting on your shoulders. He’s taken off his helmet, brown eyes full of such concern it only makes you cry harder seeing them, further increasing his worry.
“Are you hurt? Tell me what’s wrong, angel,” he murmurs, a note of franticness in his voice as he looks you over for injuries, finding none except for the few scratches along your arms you’d received earlier when you landed in the dirt.
You shake your head when he tries to move your hands away from your face, emitting a choked hiccup that threatens to crack your already-bruised rib cage with its intensity.
“Angel, you’ve got to breathe, okay?” Din says, soft and soothing. You blink through your watery vision, finding his gaze again, and he offers you a small, reassuring smile. “In and out. Just like this.” He inhales a purposefully deep breath, then slowly releases it without once breaking eye contact.
You try to copy him, but your nose is stuffed with snot and your lungs hitch with another round of sobs, ruining your attempt.
“Can I…?” Din again reaches for one of your hands, this time hovering without attempting direct contact, waiting for your consent.
Trembling, it feels like a monumental task to remove your hand from where it’s glued to the top of your other one still covering your mouth. Din grabs onto your wrist and brings your hand to his chest plate, pressing it against the cool beskar.
“Together, okay? In and out.”
He continues his litany of encouragement, patient and calm, and gradually your heaving sobs begin to lose their power, enabling you to reclaim control of your lungs. Catching your breath, you begin to wipe away the lingering tears with the hand not still held gently in Din’s grip.
“Sorry,” you sniff, embarrassed. The beginning ache of a migraine starts to form in the back of your head, worsening when you try to move too quickly, and you bite back a wince.
His grip on your wrist tightens in admonishment. “There’s no need to be,” he says, but your ears detect his thinly restrained anger. “Who were you speaking to?”
“He’s one of my superiors. Valin Hess,” you answer, biting your lip.
“I should have him wiped clean from the galaxy for making you cry,” Din hisses, a snarl on his face and eyes darkening with rage.
Face to face with anyone else, you would have felt terrified being so close to such open hostility. But this is how Din expresses his overprotective nature, making himself a more dangerous threat than the enemy, and for that reason, you could never be scared of him.
“Din, listen to me,” you say, curling your hand in his grasp until he yields to your movements and allows you to intertwine your fingers with his gloved ones. “What happened on Sorgan when you touched Omera’s hand, Hess said it wasn’t the first time something like that has happened. He wouldn’t give me the details though because I’m not high enough rank.”
He raises an eyebrow. “I wasn’t aware Cupids had any kind of ranking system.”
“It’s based on how long you’ve existed. I’ve only been a Cupid for fifty years now, barely made any kind of lasting imprint on the galaxy.”
“Don’t say that,” he mutters, shooting you a stern look. “You’ve made a bigger impact than you could ever know.”
Struck momentarily speechless, you can only watch as he moves to sit on the floor beside you, clasped hands settling between his thigh and yours. The pauldron on his shoulder presses against the upper half of your arm and you tilt your head until your temple rests against it.
“That’s not what made you upset,” Din says.
You don’t need to shake your head, confirming the truth he already knows, but you do anyway, comforted by the cold metal rubbing across your forehead.
“What did he tell you, angel?”
You know by how he squeezes your hand that he genuinely wants to hear what happened. You know he must hear it from you because no one else can break the news. And you know you cannot lie to him because Hess’ intervening affects him even more than it does yourself. Still, in spite of knowing all of this, the words don’t come out any easier.
“I have only two days to figure out who your soulmate is before he reassigns you another Cupid.”
Din goes abruptly stiff. “What.”
“Because of the explosion and then also because I broke protocol by refusing to say you were my client, Hess believes I’m not handling things well and should be replaced by someone better.”
If you hadn’t known Din was immortal, you would think he died with how still he remains at your side. Leaning back with increasing worry, you see him staring forward across the cargo hold, granting you only a glimpse of the side of his face.
He...Oh, Maker.
He looks kriffing pissed.
“Din—”
“How...” he cuts himself off, nostrils flaring as he clenches his jaw. “How could they ever think there is anyone better than you?”
For the job, you tell yourself, not allowing your hopes to rise. He means there isn’t anyone better for the job.
“I’m just a Cupid,” you tell him weakly, shrugging a shoulder. “I—”
“Stop talking poorly about yourself,” he snaps, the closest he’s ever come to yelling at you, turning to meet your gaze with fire burning in his eyes. You swallow thickly, his intensity making you feel like cornered prey.
When he speaks again, his baritone voice has become a low murmur, each word carefully chosen and bleeding sincerity. “Everything you said about knowing who your soulmate is—I want to experience all of it with you. Only you. You’re it for me, angel.”
You freeze, unable to believe what you’re hearing, train of thought coming to a screeching halt. For the second time during this conversation, you’ve lost your voice, mouth opening and closing but no sound coming out.
“You’re it for me,” he repeats, sounding as if he’s pleading for you to believe him. “So tell your bosses to go fuck themselves. You’re the only Cupid I could ever want by my side.”
The reference of your designation is like dumping a bucket of ice water over your head, shocking your entire system. You wrench yourself away from him, stumbling onto your feet.
“You don’t know what you’re saying,” you say as you start to pace around the room, hearing the hysterical edge in your own voice.
He stands up, expression warring between confusion and irritation. “I know you feel something too. Why do you keep pulling away from me?”
“Because we can’t be together, Din,” you answer, blinking back the unbidden tears starting to form again. “I’m not your soulmate. It isn’t possible!”
“Angel.” He catches your elbow when you pass by him, forcing you to face him. His voice is brittle when he speaks, already expecting your answer to shatter his wounded heart. “Why can’t you be with me?”
“Because I’ve already met my soulmate. And he wasn’t you.”

alphagyu97: oh fuck oh fuck
alphagyu97 has donated $100
hoshi_tiger_xx: oh??? Cute lil kitten ears????
A moan floats past your lips as you sit in Seungcheol’s lap; his cock already snug inside of you before you’d even turned the camera on. “Ah, ye--yeah, we thought we’d, mmh, try--try something n-new…”
Seungcheol smirks although neither you nor the camera catch it as he holds you still. Much like before, he’d started working you up before you got on camera and this time he’d asked you to sink down onto his cock and wait patiently until it was time to begin; neither of you saying a word or moving an inch as he peppered kisses along your shoulders and neck.  “Why don’t you show them your cute ‘lil tail, kitten? It’s getting squished between our bodies...”
universe_WZ: yes yes yes
tangerine_kwan: show us your cute tail princess
therealchan99: thank u for the pics btw i scream abt them every 30 minutes
therealchan99 has donated $50
You reach a shaky hand behind your back for the fluffy material as you show it off to the camera to the best of your ability; making sure to not move it around too much or else you knew you’d cum too soon. “I, ah, it’s--it’s keeping me s-so full…” He makes you answer a few more comments as you sit on his cock; blunt nails digging into the skin of your waist when he feels you trying to get him to move.
artist8hao: so so so pretty baby
kitty_junjun: cute little kitty
kitty_junjun: should come and play sometime ;)
xcaliburDK has donated $75
The way Seungcheol has you in his lap is a little uncomfortable for you and he quickly takes notice of the way you start to squirm more and more with each comment or question you reply to. “Kitten, it looks like you hit your donation minimum already. Should we start?” He coos.
You can only nod in return as you squint your eyes to check the laptop screen to see how you were doing. “Ngh, p-please… I--I’m so f-full I can’t wait any l-longer…” Whining, you clench around his cock and the toy as he chuckles lightly behind you. He’d purposely asked if the two of you could sit further back on the bed and further from the camera and laptop and you’d raised an eyebrow but agreed.
“Sorry, the angle’s not going to be very good for this but you’ll understand why.” Seungcheol comments.
The laptop screen is full of questioning comments and donations that beg Seungcheol to hurry up and fuck you.
His grip on your waist tightens a little before he’s slowly lifting you off of his cock and you let out a disappointed noise when he’s completely pulled out. “Nooo~ I w-want--”
“Ah, ah, I know what you want, kitten. But you need to get on your hands and knees for me. Facing the camera.”
Oooh, that’s why he wanted space.
You nod frantically as you easily get comfortable on your hands and knees in front of the camera and laptop; fluffy tail resting against your spine as the bell on your collar jingles.
alphagyu97: oh god please breed her
angelhan: yes god please
Seungcheol kneels behind you; already easing his cock back into your tight pussy as you mewl straight into the camera. “Our cute little kitten is already squeezing my cock so tight…”
You feel his fingertips on your skin before he’s reaching for the fluffy tail and he gives it a small tug as you whine and whimper in return.
“No, no pl--please, sir, I’ll cum if, ah, you p-play with my--my tail!”
Your eyes clamp shut just as Seungcheol starts to play with the anal plug; tugging on it and moving it slightly in order to get you to squirm a little more before he gives you want you wanted. He smirks at your back as he hears the sound of donations and comments flooding the screen in rapid succession.
“Oh? But they seem to like when I play with you like this.” You clench around Seungcheol and the toy, small cries on your lips when your sensitive body already wants to give in to the pleasure. “So fuckin’ pretty with your cute tail and ears and your pretty ‘lil collar on.”
chwenon: shes gonna cum so fast lol
gentleman_josh95: i kno, u can already tell she wants to
hoshi_tiger_xx has donated $50
xcaliburDK has donated $50
sleepy_wonu: look at her cute fuckin face while she tries to not cum haha
Seungcheol draws his hips back slightly before slowly thrusting into you from behind; fingertips still playing with the tail as he moves it around in tandem with his slow thrusts. “Oh kitten, you’re so fuckin’ wet for me, baby~” You can only moan back in response as you resist the urge to meet his slow movements with your own, much quicker ones.
“Ah, s-sir, please…”
tangerine_kwan: so cute when she's whiningggg
angelhan: dont give into her so easily~ make her work for it ;)
kitty_junjun: aww but shes so cute like this
Your fingertips dig into the bed sheets and you peel your eyes open as you attempt to read off the comments flying across the screen. “Mmh, ‘m so full… and sir won’t s-stop playing, ah, with my--my tail…” You can see Seungcheol’s form behind you on the screen, hips slowly moving as he plays with the tail.
You slowly find yourself moving with him and meeting his thrusts; chasing your pleasure as Seungcheol seemingly takes his time.
“Ngh, s-sir, can I c-cum?”
Seungcheol grins at your back, suddenly picking up the pace as he finally leaves the anal plug alone. “I don’t know, can you? Why don’t you ask them?” You blink your hazy eyes at the camera before flitting towards the comments section of your camshow.
“P-please tell s-sir to, mmh, let m-me cum…” You beg; unintentionally sending the comments section and donations into a flurry of yes’s and no’s.
artist8hao: let her cum but dont let it be the only time
alphagyu97: aww princess dont forget he still needs to breed your cute lil cunt
universe_WZ: she can cum but she still needs to be a good girl and let sir get what he wants
“Mmh, of--of course I, ah, w-want sir to b-breed my pussy… I, hah, want his--his cum i-inside of m-me…” You start working your hips back as you meet Seungcheol’s pace that speeds up at your words and the two of you fall into a rhythm as he works to get you off first. His hands grip your waist as he angles his thrusts to tap your g-spot and you mewl and whine in response; careful to not accidentally call Seungcheol’s name in the midst of the moment.
“Fuh--fuck, sir, ‘m g-gonna cum… please…”
“Cum whenever you want, kitten.”
You nod shakily; head falling forward as you let yourself get lost in the pleasure.
Your eyes flutter shut as various thoughts flood your mind. The main one being how seamlessly Seungcheol fit into your camshows and how much easier it was to film with him than you ever anticipated. The two of you easily forgot that the camera was even rolling most of the time, whether it was live or pre-recorded for your channel and now that he was always with you, it was hard to imagine filming without him.
“Ah, kitten, your cute ‘lil cunt is, ah, sucking me in deeper… You must really want my cum, huh?”
His words bring you out of your thoughts as you bite your lip. “Mmhmm, I w-want sir to c-cum, hah,  inside my p-pussy and b-breed me… wanna be, ngh, filled with your---your cum…”
“Why don’t we cum together then, hmm? Bet you wanna feel my cock throbbing in your cute ‘lil cunt, huh, kitten?”
The warmth blooms inside of you as you nod; cheeks hot as you peer straight into the camera. You readjust slightly, the bell on your collar tinkling as the set of cat ears on your head slip slightly. “Y-yes, sir… Please cum w-with me…”
Seungcheol doubles his pace and you quickly feel one of his hands leaving your body as he wraps his hand around the fluffy tail again. He starts to move it around again, slightly tugging on it as you cry out. “Ah, s-sir!”
chwenon has donated $75
angelhan has donated $50
universe_WZ has donated $100
artist8hao has donated $75
“Fuh--fuck, sir, please! P-please breed me, please, ah, c-cum inside m-my little cunt and--and fill m-me up with your c-cum!”
Tears blur your vision as you’re quickly thrown over the edge and into an orgasm; ears ringing when your entire body goes rigid. Seungcheol finds it harder and harder to thrust into you as your walls flutter around his cock and he soon finds himself cumming with you too; cock throbbing as he unloads all of him cum inside you. “Oh, fuck, kitten…” He moans; eyes rolling to the back of his head as he lets the pleasure wash over himself as well.
The sound of donations and comments drown out your soft cries and Seungcheol’s deep groans and you’re almost positive that you’d made at least a couple thousand off of tonight’s show.
alphagyu97: holy shit look at her face, fuck
kitty_junjun: is she crying?
hoshi_tiger_xx: damn, shes so drunk on cock shes crying
therealchan99: aww poor kitten~
You let out a stuttered breath as your body starts to relax; soft sniffles following right after. “Ngh… sir…”
Seungcheol smiles softly when he hears the way your voice trembles and he’s gentle to slide his cock from inside your cunt; groaning when his cum immediately drips down onto the sheets from how much he’d cum inside you.
“Ah, kitten, what a waste. How am I supposed to breed your ‘lil cunt if you’re letting my cum spill out of you already?”
You lick your lips and despite the tiredness, a new wave of arousal pours over your body at the thought of Seungcheol cumming inside of you a second time. You shake your hips; foggy eyes staring straight into the camera.
“You’re just going to, ah, cum inside me again… and let e-everyone watch...”
Tumblr media
The next morning, Seungcheol drives you over to the diner to start your first real day at work and you feel downright nervous once the car stops. You’d gotten so used to camming and being alone that this new foray into normalcy was making you think twice, even just momentarily.
“You gonna be okay?” He turns to you, concern obvious on his face when your eyes meet his. “I can always take you straight home or take you back to the roller rink with me if you d--”
“No! No, I wanna do this... I know we made a lot of money off of the show last night but... But I think this’ll be good for me. Both of us working so we can afford rent ‘n stuff!”
“We should like a married couple.” Seungcheol jokes.
Your cheeks burn hot at his comment as you bite your lip. “Ehehe~”
Seungcheol grins at you, hands still on the steering wheel. “Just let me know if you need anything, okay? I always have my phone on me anyway, Namjoon doesn’t really care.”
The two of you share a laugh as you slowly reach for the door handle.
“I will, I promise!”
Tumblr media
“I still do not get why you want to work here.”
Jun laughs, hands on his hips as he watches you adjust the short dress uniform you’d put on, moments before.
“It’s just... something to keep me occupied, is all.” Smoothing down your uniform, you do a small spin for Jun who nods back in approval. “And I wanna make friends! Aren’t we friends?”
Jun’s eyes twinkle with playfulness as he gestures you over to the front of the diner. “Of course we are! Which by the way...” He pauses, looking over the relatively full diner to make sure nobody caught your conversation. “Is... Seungcheol-hyung okay with y’know... You working here and me... Being one of your viewers leaving comments ‘n stuff?”
A genuine look of concern crosses his features as he waits for you to respond.
You puff your cheeks as you think, “I think so? I mean he hasn’t...” Memories of Seungcheol saying he’d kick Jun’s ass immediately flood your mind as you laugh nervously.
“Y-yeah, he didn’t say a word!”
Tumblr media
After two hours, you decide to take your 15 minute break; waving to Jun before you head towards the employee backroom to grab your phone.
You check your notifications, surprise on your face when you see Seungcheol’s already messaged you a few times.
cheollie ✨: have a good day!
cheollie ✨: u okay over there, baby?
cheollie ✨: dont feel pressured to answer asap lol
You laugh under your breath, typing up a response as you take a seat in the break room.
‘It’s been going okay! I’m taking a short break right now tho!’
Shockingly, Seungcheol response only after a few seconds.
cheollie ✨: oh, thats good! I take it no issues?
‘Nope! my feet kinda hurt tho lol’
He asks you a few more questions; one about Jun keeping his distance, to which you shake your head and laugh.
cheollie ✨: you never showed me your uniform btw 😏
You let out a noise of realization, fingertips already swiping through your phone to get to your photos as you send him one that you’d taken earlier.
‘How's it look? 🥺’
It goes quiet for a couple minutes and you half-wonder if Seungcheol got in trouble for having his phone out.
‘Cheol, u ok?’
cheollie ✨: is it bad I'm already thinking about lifting that cute little skirt up
cheollie ✨: fucking you nice and hard with your panties just pushed to the side
cheollie ✨: fuck, and making you go back to work with your pussy filled with my cum
A shiver rolls down your spine at his words; gulping as you check the time for how much you had left before you had to get back out onto the floor.
‘what if I bend over and someone sees my panties all wet n soaked thru with ur cum...’
cheollie ✨: then they’d know you’re mine.
cheollie ✨: I mean most of your viewers already know that
cheollie ✨: but I want everyone to know, yknow?
cheollie ✨: god the way I wanna fuck you on the hood of my car
cheollie ✨: your cute little whines while you try to keep quiet
You let out a shaky, quiet moan; thighs rubbing together when you notice you only have about three more minutes before your break was up.
‘Cheol... I have to get back to work 😭 how could you get me horny before I have to get back...’
You pout your lips at your phone screen as you wait for his response.
cheollie ✨: 😈
cheollie ✨: I have an idea
cheollie ✨: for later
cheollie ✨: I hope you can wear your uniform home
cheollie ✨: see u in a few hours baby

A/N: I am sorry for taking so much to post this chapter. I was suffering from a severe writer’s block and uni is driving me crazy.
You can check here Pemberley’s Lake and Hooked on You, part one and part two of my Nessian Pride and Prejudice AU.
Shout out to @arinbelle for having requested THE rain scene present in the 2005 version. I had to change a few things to fit it in this fic, but I hope you like it nonetheless!!

Smells like petrichor and paper
“This is not what I was expecting”
Cassian dropped the pressed daisy chain he was holding, looking up to see none other than his brother, Azriel.
“Mother’s tits, brother! You gave me a fright! What are you doing here?” Cassian inquired, finding it strange to see the Chief of the Royal Intelligence at Pemberley when he had promptly disposed of him not three days ago.
“Good to see you too brother” Azriel snorted, sitting in front of him “ I thought you had left all your work at the office”
Cassian glanced at the piles of paper on his table. He was currently in his study, a place he usually avoided when he was at Pemberley unless he had any remaining work from his office to do. No wonder Azriel was surprised to see him there.
“This is not work” he said, arranging the papers and putting them in the drawer, along with the daisy chain.
Cassian did not want Azriel inquiring after the delicate object. Not after his brother had seen how affected by Nesta he was. Azriel would probably tease him about having pressed the daisy chain and made a bookmark out of it, pity on his eyes.
“For what do I owe the pleasure of having your delightful presence here?” he inquired.
“Good to see you missed me” Azriel said “Me and Georgie thought it would be better to come and see if you were alive.”
“Georgiana is here?”
Cassian had not seen his younger sister in a while now. He missed his dear sister deeply.
“She said she would look at your horses and decide which she would take for herself after you were declared dead” his brother smirked “She will be quite sad to know you are alive”
He took back his words.
He did not miss the wild brat at all.
“Let’s wait for that devil at the parlor. I have some guests that are due to arrive any minute now”
“Guests?” Azriel asked in surprise as they left Cassian’s study “I came here expecting to find you wallowing in self-pity but instead you are expecting guests? Do enlighten me brother”
“Lady Nesta and her friends are coming” Cassian mumbled, passing by Lumière — his kind hearted but rebellious maître d' who likes to annoy Cogsworth — requesting him to warn Mrs.Potts to bring the refreshments earlier, given Azriel and Georgiana’s unexpected visit.
“What was that again?” Azriel stumbled over a chair, his head snapping so fast in Cassian’s direction that he swore he had heard a cracking sound.
“Lady Nesta Archeron and some friends of hers are coming today” Cassian answered, sitting down and hoping his sister’s inquiries would not be as bothersome as Azriel’s.
“You invited her all the way to Pemberley?”
“Cauldron no! I arrived at Pemberley and they were visiting the state” Cassian laughed in disbelief  “She did not even know I was the owner. They came yesterday  and we went fishing on the property.”
“And she is coming back again?” his brother raised an eyebrow in question.
“I am showing them the rest of the state, nothing more” Cassian was glad Azriel had not read the papers on his desk, least his brother see the bullet list he had written down, which consisted of places he planned to show Nesta and her friends, not to say the rest of his planning for the day.
He had to make Azriel believe he was completely over Nesta Archeron.
Nevermind that could not be the furthest from the truth.
Nevermind he was so enamoured with her he had pressed the daisy chain she had given him and turned it into a bookmark.
Cassian did not know if he would ever get anything from Nesta again.
So he was going to treasure what she was willing to give him now. Even if it was not enough.
Even if his heart yearned for more with each passing moment he spent in her presence.
“You wear your heart for all to see, brother” Azriel said, a knowing look on his face “I just worry you end up hurt because of it.”
“Good thing you will be here to put it back together, right?” Cassian gave him a sly grin, wanting to not worry his brother with his hopeless love life.
They were interrupted by the door opening and Mrs.Potts arriving with tea and pastries, Georgiana right behind the head maid.
“Oh, you are alive” his fifteen yeard old sister declared, a sad look on her face that made Cassian almost believe her, were it not for the small dimple on the corner of her mouth, which always appeared when she was trying not to smile.
Georgiana had always been a good actress, Rhysand having jokingly said on more than one occasion she should join the theater were she not to marry.
“That is how you greet your favourite brother?” Cassian said, placing a hand over his heart in mock hurt.
“Currently, Azriel is my favourite brother” Georgiana announced, sitting on the couch beside him, her pale pink dress fanning around her “He bought me a strawberry cake yesterday”
“But I have some double dipped chocolate cookies right here” Cassian thanked Mrs.Potts, who gave Georgiana a plate with them, winking at his sister before leaving the room.
“Sorry Zizi, Cassian is my favourite now” she said, taking a huge bite of one cookie.
Cassian laughed at that, Azriel smiling at the nickname. Georgiana could not say his name when she was younger, sticking with Zizi until she was ten years old.
He could not help but feel a little sad to see his baby sister all grown up. Soon she would be entering society and start being courted. Not that either him or his brothers would give her hand for just anybody, and Georgie was free to choose to not marry at all. She had that privilege being the sister of a duke and the two of the highest ranking people at the Queen’s service. No one would dare and say a thing were Georgie to be a spinster or really join a theater company.
“My Lord,” Cogsworth interrupted his wandering thoughts, entering the parlor “Your guests have arrived.”
“And the ladies look very pretty” Lumière teased, earning an elbow on the ribs by Cogsworth.
Cassian for once did not laugh at their usual bickering, having sat straighter and looking at the door, holding his breath.
The ladies were indeed very pretty, courtesy of Emerie of course. Although today she had chosen to wear a dress, it was once again unique. With long see through sleeves, pearls and light turquoise flowers on the bodice of a dress in the same colour — a matching long scarf taking the attention off the gown’s deep neckline — and a big transparent hat with the same palette of colour on her head, Cassian could not blame Georgiana’s wide eyed look at Emerie, who was for sure nothing like any other lady his sister had ever seen.
Gwyn wore a gown with the same off shoulder design as last time, but with short sleeves and three quarters lace gloves. Her hair was once again free and held back only by a merigold ribbon, the same colour as her dress. Cassian wondered if she had a matching dress for each ribbon she wore, and how she could possibly have so many ribbons.
But as soon as Nesta came into view, Cassian forgot all about ribbons and the others present in the parlor. He could not understand how she looked more beautiful each time he saw her, and they had parted for less than a day. She wore a tawny gown with sleeves that reached her elbows and that had ruffles at their end, the rest of her arm bare.
Nesta Archeron wore no gloves.
That fact alone had Cassian’s heart beating harder.
“Brother, will you introduce us to your guests?” Georgiana said, a spark of mischief in her eyes.
“Of course, right away” clearing his throat and standing up, Cassian introduced the party of five, his sister clapping her hands and exclaiming in delight when she heard Gwyn’s name.
“Oh! I cannot believe I am meeting the prima donna of the year! It is an honour”
“Thank you” Gwyn blushed, still not used to all the attention.
“My brother Azriel is a big fan of your singing” Georgiana said with a sly smile, the only one who had noticed that her usually quiet brother had a ribbon of the same exact colour as the one in the singer’s hair tied around his black hat “He has been to nearly all of your shows if I reckon correctly.”
“I– You– I mean” Azriel stuttering was something so out of the ordinary that Cassian had to bite his knuckles to avoid laughing out loud.
“I am but a simple appreciator of the fine arts” Azriel said, avoiding Gwyn’s eyes.
“It pleases me to know someone so important has time to appreciate my music” the opera singer replied, her blush deeping.
“Please, have a seat” Cassian managed to say, still holding his laughter “My staff prepared some refreshments.”
They all obliged, Nesta sitting directly in front of him.
“I am tempted to steal your staff, sir” Emerie declared, her eyes shining when she spotted the strawberry tart.
“I will have to agree with Emerie this time” Balthazar said between bites of a ham sandwich “Your hospitality and service is the best I have seen”
Cassian’ staff had once again outdid themselves. He did not know how, but they had managed to assemble all of his guests favourite foods and drinks. Were they secretly part of his brother’s web of spies?
“I will pass the message to them. They will be very happy to hear that.” he said, going out of his way to pour Nesta a cup of peppermint tea.
“Thank you, your grace” she said, taking the cup from him, their fingers brushing.
Cassian thanked the Mother that Nesta did not wear gloves today. Little did he know it was all part of Emerie’s plan to get them together.
“So Lady Nesta is the reason you were mopping?” Georgiana asks him, hiding her smile behind her cup of tea.
“I beg your pardon” Cassian blurted out, glancing at the lady in question to make sure she had not heard the comment.
“You and Lady Nesta. Azriel and Miss Berdara” she threw a knowing glance at her other brother “Am I on the way to gaining two sisters?”
That last comment had both gentlemen spitting their drinks out.
“Careful brothers, the tea is quite hot” Georgiana said, gently blowing her own drink.
Cassian exchanged an exasperated glance with Azriel, imagining just how much more embarrassing situations his sister would put them through.
Thankfully, the rest of their tea time went uninterrupted. Cassian was really anxious to show them the rest of his home, apart from what was usually open to the public.
“Would you like to start the tour? It is a once in a lifetime chance to know all the secrets Pemberley has”
“Oh, do you have any secret passages? I always wondered if what they wrote in the books was true or just make believe” Gwyn said with an almost childlike gleam in her eyes.
“Only one way to know” Cassian answered, winking.
“Brother, may I show Mr. Oristian and Madame Emerie our stables?” Georgiana asked, and he could not help but wonder what she was planning “I take he will appreciate your fine breed horses, and I would like to request Madame Emerie to design me new riding clothes”
“I see no reason to object, as long as our guests agree with the decision” he replied.
“Glance at the General’s famous horses? Count me in” Balthazar said, having heard how special the General Commander’s horses were.
“What an amazing idea young lady! You’re very lucky I never go out without my sketch journal!” Emerie exclaimed in delight, having caught up on Georgiana’s plan “I shall make the most memorable clothes ever!”
“My brothers will be happy to pay any price for them, will you not dear brothers?” the young lady blinked innocently.
“Anything for you Georgie” Azriel said, already planning to send the bill to Rhsyand.
They promptly went their separate ways, Georgiana leading Balthazar and Emerie towards the stables, taking Emerie’s arms on hers like life long friends, conspiratory smiles in both their faces.

First stop, the library.
Cassian knew it was a common visiting spot, but it was shown briefly so the visitors would have time to do a tour of the whole state.
“Are the ladies prepared?” Cassian asked with suspense, his hand hovering on the doorknob.
Nesta and Gwyn nodded, and he opened the door with a flourish.
“I present you, Pemberley’s library”
The library in Pemberley had already been famous when Cassian acquired the state. Apparently, the previous owner had been so in love with his wife — which had a frail health and could not go out for too long — that he had built it for her as a gift. The lord sold the state after his wife passed away, the only request that the library was kept as it was. Cassian was secretly a romantic at heart, and had not only taken great care of the space since becoming its new owner, but also added his own books to the already big collection.
“It’s beautiful” Gwyn exclaimed, looking around, particularly intrigued by the painted ceiling, which portrayed scenes so beautiful they looked almost real to the touch.
Nesta was awfully quiet since he had opened the door, and he dared to steal a glance at her. But all thoughts that she had not liked the place went flying out of his head when he saw her expression.
For the first time, Nesta could not hide her emotions and expressions about what she was feeling. She had a hand over her heart, her breath knocked out her. When Mrs.Potts had shown them the place, it had been a rushed visit and she had not been able to really look at it.
But now she could not look away.
Nesta turned in circles, drinking it all in, from the floor to ceiling light brown shelves — stairs leaning on them to help reach the highest ones —  to the statues, maps and other decorations around the room.
Looked at the couches and tables distributed to accommodate the readers.
She blinked, trying desperately not to make a fool out of herself and cry. There were so many books, the smell of paper filling her lungs.
Gwyn and Azriel moved along the place, the first one eager to explore it and Cassian took the opportunity to bashfully stare at Nesta.
She looked the happiest he had ever seen her, not even daring to blink least she lost some important detail of the library.
“This is beautiful” she finally managed, turning around to see Cassian looking at her with so much adoration and some feeling she could not quite place in his eyes.
“I am glad you like it” he smiled at her, Nesta’s heart missing a beat “You may come here and read as many as you like whenever you are nearby.”
“I do not want to impose” she said.
“Nonsense” Cassian waved a hand, dismissing her worries “The library is quite lonely since I am most of the time away”
“That would be wonderful. I cannot thank you enough”
“Having a stroll near the garden with me would be enough payment” he offered, knowing he was testing his luck.
Cassian tried to forget how their last stroll in the garden had been like. He would not act as stupid as last time and jeopardize it all.
“Nesta! There are music books here!” Gwyn appeared before Nesta could answer him, clutching a book to her chest “I have been searching for this one for so long!”
“Miss Berdara was indeed very happy when she spotted it '' Azriel informed with a small smile, recalling how the singer had squealed in excitement.
Gwyn blushed, looking away from the gentleman beside her.
“Why don’t we move on with our tour and rest a little at the music room?” Cassian suggested “I have just bought a pianoforte that must be begging to be used”
“Azriel can accompany you, he is a well versed pianist” he added slyly, having seen how his brother was unusually flushed when close to the opera singer.
“You play?” Gwyn asked in surprise.
“No. I mean, yes but-” the Chief of the Royal Intelligence cleared his throat, his ears warming “I do play a bit, but not on the professional level.”
“How wonderful!” Nesta exclaimed “Why don’t you show Gwyn the music room? I am feeling quite hot, so Lord Cassian and I will step outside for a bit.”
Cassian could not believe his ears. Had Nesta Archeron truly accepted his offer?
“It is decided then! Please, show me the way Mr. Pianist” Gwyn said, taking Azriel by the arm before he could remember how to talk, a dumbfounded expression on his face.
The library door closed behind them, leaving Nesta and Cassian alone since their dreadful encounter at Feyre’s ball.
“Shall we then?” he said after a while, breaking the silence.
“Is there another route to the garden?” Nesta asked, furrowing her browns in confusion when Cassian walked away from the big oak door Gwyn and Azriel had exited the library by.
He gave her a boyish smile, full of mischief.
“Ready to find out if what I said about secret passages is true?”
Stopping in front of a normal looking shelf, he felt the wood until a clicking sound was heard and the shelf revealed itself to be actually a door that opened to reveal a staircase spiraling down.
“Lead the way” Nesta answered, chin held high as she walked in his direction.
~•~
The rain came out of nowhere. One minute Cassian was watching Nesta play with his hunting dogs —  who were in truth very sweet despite their rough and menacing appearance —  like the fool in love that he was and the next they were drenched down to their bones.
“There’s a greenhouse not too far!” he tried to say above the pouring rain “Come with me!”
Clasping their hands, Cassian quickly led them to take cover there, as they were too far from the main state.
He let a sigh of relief when he saw the greenhouse, taking no time opening the door and ushering Nesta in.
They could see the rain falling heavily outside through the glass panels, different kinds of flowers and herbs all around them, making it seem as if they were in a magic forest.
“That was a surprise” Cassian said “It has been a while since it rained this hard”
He looked at Nesta, water dripping from his hair and he found her staring at their still clasped hands.
“I am sorry” he exclaimed, dropping her hand even though his mind shouted at him to never let her go.
“Here, take my coat” Cassian added, putting it around her shoulders “I would not want to be the reason of you falling sick”
“T-thank you” Nesta said, momentarily distracted by the fact that Cassian’s white shirt had become see-through due to the rain.
Against her better wishes, her thoughts wandered back to the day she had seen him shirtless and dripping wet by the lake, the same funny feeling low in her stomach reappearing as she followed a droplet of water fall from his shoulder length hair and run down his neck.
Nesta was so distracted she froze in shock when he raised his hand, brushing her wet hair away from where it was sticking to her face. His fingers lingered on her skin — Nesta once again wondering how he could still be so warm despite the cold rain  — and she gasped, half from how weirdly attractive he looked and half from pain.
“You are hurt” Cassian quietly said, his fingers hovering above a small cut on her neck.
“It is just a scratch” she replied in the same voice tone, not wanting to break whatever was happening between them “A thorn must have scratched me when we passed by the bushes near the entrance”
They were improperly close, with Cassian looking down at her as he tilted her chin to let him better access the wound. The greenhouse was quiet, no sound but the rain falling outside filling the air.
“It is nothing” she assured him, her own hand coming up to close around his wrist “It does not even hurt that much.”
Nesta did not know how she was talking when even breathing seemed a too difficult task at the moment. She was hyper aware of where their skin was touching, of the heat she felt all over her body, goosebumps running down her arms when Cassian pressed his lips tenderly against her temple.
“You do not appear to have a fever” he murmured, his breath tickling her temple “But maybe it would be wiser to stay the night. I will send a carriage to get your things and your friends’ too. Alright?”
“Alright” Nesta breathless replied, the rain outside slowly turning into a mild drizzle.
Pemberley had just gained new residents.
How Cassian was going to survive living with Nesta for a short period of time was something that remained to be seen.

WELCOME TO THE FRIEZA FORCE, MY DEAR
(FRIEZA X READER)
::The following story takes place after DragonBall Fighterz villains arc. I do not own any DBZ characters. Enjoy the story!::
Tumblr media
It has been over a month since you had returned to your own body after Frieza kicked you out despite you accepting his offer to join him. Honestly you didn’t have much to keep you here on earth anyway since bad luck had a habit of shooting down your spirits. It all started when you had graduated from high school; your dad suffered from a stroke and eventually succumbed to it within two months, your brother was killed in a car crash with your mother two years later, and just recently you had broken up with your boyfriend whom you’ve been dating for four years after finding out that he was cheating on you with another woman. You’ve at least managed to keep your job at a fast food restaurant thanks to your hard working attitude, however; your heart has been closed off since the breakup and you were tired of all the misery in your life so far that it wouldn’t have even mattered if you ended up robbed, murdered or worse.
Then one day you found yourself linked up with Frieza. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out how much of an evil prick he was after the way he spoke to you for the first time. He was obviously not a happy camper when he noticed you were controlling his body and not him. Although you couldn’t necessarily blame him since body snatching wasn’t your cup of tea either. Frieza had openly expressed his disgust towards you many times and while his attitude may have annoyed you to no end you somehow oddly find some comfort in it. Perhaps it was because you too had days where you just had to let out your frustrations though it was all in private. You’ve powered through mentally with Frieza because the sting of your ex’s betrayal was still fresh. But working with the tyrant hasn’t been so terrible not when you had experienced his amazing power which would’ve been found in a comic book or a superhero movie. You felt invincible, untouchable almost like a god and you loved it especially the flying part.
The link you had with Frieza had become more stronger with each battle and along the way you encountered Nappa, Captain Ginyu and the Ginyu force, Cell, Goku, Vegeta, Krillin, and the rest of the z fighters. Through them you experienced each of their own unique powers and got along with most of them. Even Frieza was showing subtle signs of him warming up to you which you were grateful for. But deep down you couldn’t help but develop some attachments to the emperor of the universe himself. You weren’t sure if he had felt the same way as you when he had offered you a position in his army after you both took out Android 21 and you knew for a fact that you wouldn’t make a good soldier since part of Frieza’s requirements to joining the Frieza force included strength which you weren’t confident about despite how well you were doing with the link. But of course if it meant that you could start your life anew and leave your misfortune behind then you’d gladly take it. Then afterwards Frieza had warmly welcomed you to join his forces when Android 21 was taken down at last. You smiled at the thought of being in space looking at the stars and planets while riding in a spaceship boldly going where no human has ever gone before. Suddenly Frieza, Cell, Ginyu and Nappa immediately began charging up when their powers had returned to them, getting ready to attack Goku and the gang and before you knew it Frieza chased you out of his body so he could fight Goku without you holding him back. Devastated and heartbroken at the tyrant’s actions you took to the skies leaving Frieza to exact his revenge on his sayian nemesis.
That was the last time you saw him and you never got to tell him how you felt about him. You shook your head as you headed into work wiping away your tears deciding that you were better off without him anyway. You didn’t have much to offer to a guy like that except for your loyalty and love which you doubted that he would be capable of. Two hours in and the events of last month had already been pushed to the back of your mind as you worked hard cleaning dishes, prepping up food, and sweeping up the floor. The lights flickered faintly above and you thought to yourself that the light bulbs must be starting to give out. You were wiping down the tables when a random guy came up to you in an attempt to flirt with you but you ignored him completely.
“What time do you get off, cutie?” The man asked you.
“Sorry sir but I cannot indulge such information to someone I do not know.” You said with a customer friendly tone which surprised you internally to hear such words coming from your own mouth. Apparently you picked up some of Frieza’s elegant speech pattern while you were linked with him.
The man looked surprised in a happy way. “Fancy way of talking, eh? Then how about you let me take you somewhere fancy to eat after you get off?”
“No thank you.” You said as you started to get irritated with him. The lights above you started to flicker.
“Don’t be like that, baby. I can treat you real nice.” The guy insisted.
“Please sir, I have work to do and I am not interested. Have a nice day.” You told him as you kept your tone friendly while your temper was rising. The lights flickered faster causing several of the staff and customers to look in confusion.
“C’mon don’t tell me that a pretty face like you already has a boyfriend?” Inquired the guy.
Now it was starting to get too personal for your liking as the memories of your ex flowed into your mind like a stream of water. Anger was bubbling up as the flickering lights intensified causing everyone to become concerned and even scared. “That is no concern of yours. Now please leave me alone and have a nice day.” You clenched your teeth as you managed to say in a sweet tone while keeping a grip on your temper. You were getting ready to head back into the kitchen when you felt a hand grab your arm and pulled you back.
“What’s the matter, bitch?” The guy hissed. “You think you’re too good to have a good time with guys like me?” He smelled like he hasn’t bathed in a week and his grip on you grew tighter.
Your coworkers and a few customers saw this and attempted to get him to let you go. But the guy insisted that he was your boyfriend and that it was no one’s business.
“SHUT UP JACKASS! YOU’RE NO ONE TO ME!” You yelled angrily at him and at that same time the lights that were flickering above you exploded. Everyone in the store screamed and covered their heads as glass fell upon them. A fire broke out causing several staff members to grab fire extinguishers and put out the fire.
The customers ran out screaming in panic as you were also running out of the store. You didn’t know what was going on but you did know that this had never happened in the restaurant before. So why now? Sounds of police sirens were drawing close as was the firefighters and you just hoped that no one got hurt. Suddenly you felt arms grabbing you by the waist and you were then carried off by someone.
“Hey! Let me go!” You exclaimed. “Put me down! What do you think you’re doing!”
“It’s just us, human!” Said a familiar gruff yet friendly voice.
You turned to see none other than Captain Ginyu of the Ginyu force. “Ginyu!” You cried as you instantly gave him a hug.
“Don’t forget about us, sheila!” Jeice said happily.
“Hey Jeice, Burter, Recoome, Guldo! It’s great to see you guys again!” You grinned as you saw the rest of the Ginyu force. “But how did you know where to find me?”
Ginyu pointed to the scouter on his face. “We detected your ki with these and by the looks of it your ki skyrocketed to another level!”
You looked at him confused. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Didn’t you see what had just happened at the restaurant?” Burter asked pointing back to where your job was.
You felt your heart sink as you came to realize what they were talking about. “I did that?”
“You sure did!” Recoome said with a smile.
“But that’s never happened before. I don’t understand why it would happen now.” You said still trying to grasp the reality of the situation.
Ginyu looks at you with a sympathetic expression on his face. “Perhaps it’s because you were linked with Lord Frieza and that his ki has awakened yours.”
You looked up in surprise. “Really?”
“That’s the only explanation that I can think of. But let’s get you to Lord Frieza first.” Ginyu said taking off into the sky with the others.
“So Frieza wants to see me now after he booted me out?” You said in a sarcastic tone.
“My apologies, huma-“
“It’s Y/n.” You interrupted Ginyu.
“Y/n. Please forgive Lord Frieza. He has been humiliated twice by Goku and needed to get his revenge for it.” Ginyu said.
You huffed. “Did he succeeded?”
“All I can say is that it ended in a stalemate.”
“Figures.” You rolled your eyes.
“I don’t mean to speak out sir but is no one going to say anything about y/n here being a woman?” Guldo asked.
“Is there something wrong with that?” You asked with a small smile.
“No. Not at all. Just surprised is all.” Guldo said.
Minutes later aboard Frieza’s ship....
Frieza stood by the window as you entered with the Ginyu force leading ahead.
“Lord Frieza, we’ve brought the human with us.” Ginyu said as he bowed.
“Excellent work, Captain Ginyu.” Frieza said in a happy tone while turning slowly to face you. “It has been awhile my dear. You look so much lovelier in person.” He smiles his usual smile that you had come to recognize as his causal expression.
“You don’t seem surprised that I am a girl.” You said observering him and then noticed his tail wiggling about almost like Frieza was glad to see you in the flesh.
“I had Nappa keep a close eye on you afterwards since Saiyans can be easily passed off as humans when their tails are well hidden that is.” Frieza said as he approached you.
“Well no wonder why Nappa has been absent lately.” Guldo mumbled.
You turned your head to glare at Ginyu and the others. “Scouter my ass. You already knew where I was at, didn’t you?”
“Easy Y/n, we weren’t lying about the scouters picking up your ki level. Besides even with Nappa we aren’t familiar with the city you were living in.” Ginyu said.
Frieza cleared his throat getting your attention back onto him who was directly standing in front of you face to face. “As I was saying; I had ordered Nappa to watch over you after the Android 21 incident. When you left I sensed a slight change in your ki and made a mental note to look into it after I delt with that damned Saiyan Goku.”
“I was told that it was a stalemate.” You said.
Frieza grimaced. “It would not have been such a stalemate if Cell hadn’t tried to steal my glory for the last time.” His tail curled up much like how a fist would ball up in anger.
“Did you....kill him?” You asked.
“No, of course not. Goku’s eldest son already did him in with Maijin Buu.” Frieza said. “But enough of that. I believe we have much to discuss about your future here on the Frieza force.”
“Thanks but there’s a concern that I’d like to address with you. Namely my sudden ki rising. Captain Ginyu said that it was the result of our souls being linked together. Is it true?” You asked.
Frieza watched you before motioning for Ginyu and the others to leave the room. They did so without hesitation and now it was just you and him alone. “Indeed it is as you were told. The slight increase of your ki didn’t happen when you and I first met but after destroying Android 21 was when it changed. I have surmised that while you were linked with me your ki was being amplified by mine thus causing it to grow with each battle we’ve faced. Though it is not as strong as mine it’ll at least give you a bit of an edge to defend yourself with.”
“How long do you think it’ll last?” You asked.
Frieza closed his eyes and sighed in annoyance. “Don’t you understand what this means exactly? I’m saying this is permanent. That this newly awakened ki is what you’ll be living with from now on.”
You were dumbfounded at this. You now had powers of your own and yet you were unsure about how to handle it. Or if you could handle it. “Oh boy.” You covered your face with your hands as you rubbed your eyes with them. “This is a lot to take in.”
“For you I have no doubt that it is.” Frieza said flicking his tail casually. “Fortunately you will have plenty of time getting use to it in my army.”
“I probably might but there’s also the issue of controlling it. Before the Ginyu force picked me up I was getting upset with this one guy trying to make a pass at me and when I lost my temper the lights exploded above us.” You told him.
Frieza hummed with curiosity. “Certain emotions often trigger such power like yours. Perhaps that will be something we can work on together.” His tail then slowly wraps around your waist as he pulls your body into his. “I’m sure that you will find it most enjoyable.”
You blushed at how close you were to him and even more so when his tail pulsed. “Frieza? Just to be honest with you, I’m still upset with you for kicking me out.”
“I had a score to settle with Goku. You of all people should understand that. Especially with the amount of time that we’ve spent together sharing the same body.” Frieza said in a stern tone as he took your chin into his hand. “It’s Y/n, yes?”
You nodded.
Frieza smiled his mischievous and cruel smile. “Welcome to the Frieza force, my dear y/n.”

Book 2 Materialist || Prologue || Chapter one || Chapter two
Ashton could hear the distant sound of thunder rumbling all over the kingdom. He thought that if he could hear that, then maybe the storm was closer than anyone could anticipate. He hasn’t seen the rain in months, let alone the sun.
He got himself into this mess, he thought. He should’ve fought harder and stopped being so naive in regards to his father.
Ever since Y/N left, he made sure to let everyone know exactly the type of person the King of RoseWood was. Letters were sent and crows were removed from their positions in different courts. Ashton would look for allies to his cause; allies that could potentially help him to take the power from his father once and for all.
It was not Ashton’s plan to take the crown at such a young age, he never asked for this even though it was bestowed upon him since birth. But he would do whatever it takes to keep his family, loved ones, and people safe; and it was more than clear that his father could not provide that same kind of security and comfort.
After the failed attempt to get his daughter married to the King of the Vail and take control of their army, King Richard went into what villagers called “a madman serenade” If the rumors said that he had lost his mind and his thirst for blood was as strong as ever, he would make sure to comply.
Richard brought the kingdom ruin, taking men out of their homes and putting them into training fields. He recruited the most fearless, sadistic men of the crow’s army and put them in charge of his new order. He lost his mind to the delusion that he will run all the kingdoms and turn them into an empire. And Ashton was almost about to uncover his plan when he was suddenly taken in the middle of the night and thrown in the dungeons like a dog.
Accused of treason and deprived of any contact with the outside and its people, Ashton swore he would not let his father win. He endured the tortures with a straight face, not saying a word to anyone that tried to pull something out of him. He spent countless nights without sleep, weeks without food, and days without water, all so that the cause and his sister could be safe.
He knew they would come for her eventually, he just hoped they had more time. Maybe he could’ve escaped by now and warned her, to make sure she and Calum are safe from the deathly grip of their father...
But instead, he was sitting in his cell once again, eyes fixed on the same spot on the wall as his lips were dry and sealed, even when the pain of the iron chains that rounded his ankles made him want to chop his limbs off. Feeling like a failure as he awaited his death. He has failed as a brother and as future King, and right now there was nothing he could do about it except listening to the thunder and the moaning of the other prisoners.
It was the dangling of the keys that caught his attention as it mixed with the sound of the heavy rain. He wondered if he was dreaming every time someone would come into the cell, hoping to wake up from the nightmare he was in, but they all made sure he lived through it. Never too much to kill him, but cruel enough to make him endure it.
“Diner,” The guard said in a monotonous tone and Ashton thought it was weird.
This guard never talked to him in a tone that held anything but pity and desperation, trying hard to win at least some kind of good reactions out of him even when the young Prince would lash out at him. Did he give up too?
Rian Dawson put the tray of food on the floor in front of the Prince. He was fidgeting with his hands, looking nervously at the door, almost as if he was afraid someone might come in at any minute, and Ashton noticed it but didn’t say a word.
“Eat!” Dawson demanded a bit too loud, but he wasn’t looking at Ashton, instead, his gaze moved nervously through the door and the tray.
Still, firm and stubborn as always, Ashton did not move or say anything, not wanting to give the guards the satisfaction of seeing him weak. But at the same time, he knew that the moment he put that piece of bread in his mouth, he might not be able to hold it after so many days without eating properly.
“Your Grace…” The guard then whispered, looking at Ash with a pleading gaze “Please…”
Ashton furrowed his brows. It was not normal for a guard or a crow to be this nervous around him anymore, and he did not trust it. After all, this was the same guard that would come every now and then to change his chains; heal the wounds just enough so that they don’t get an infection; and take him to his next torture. Why did he seem so desperate now?
“Please, I beg of you, Your Highness. Just-” He continued to whisper, but got cut short when a new set of dangling keys could be heard along the hallway “Shit”
“Dawson! What the hell are you doing?!” The Commander asked, standing right outside the Prince’s cell, and, once again, Ashton did not move a muscle to acknowledge him.
“They ordered me to get the traitor dinner, My Lord!” Rian said loudly, standing tall and ignoring Ashton altogether “But it seems like he would rather starve than be useful for once!”
His tone did not convince Ashton in the slightest since he could see through the lie. But it must’ve not been the same for the Commander who started to laugh.
“Let him starve, then!” He said “Before he dies we would have to feed him forcefully until the King says enough. Then he could rot all he wants. Come, Dawson! You are needed on the training field”
And with that, the Commander walked away, but Rian only allowed himself to breathe once the sound of the keys could not be heard over the thunder.
“Your Highness,” He said calmly as before, still keeping his eyes on the door as he started to walk out “Please, please eat. For RoseWood”
Ashton heard the cell door close again and the heavy footsteps disappear in the hallway. Then, his hazel eyes shifted to the tray that contained a piece of old bread and a cup of water. His narrowing gaze suddenly became wide open as his head snapped towards the direction of the door, waiting for any sounds besides the thunder that could indicate someone’s coming.
His heart was beating loudly inside his chest as he leaned forward, placing one hand on the dusty, musky floor, trying to see if he could support himself with his arms without making too much noise with the shackles that imprisoned him.
Slowly, Ashton started to crawl, biting on his tongue to not let out any noise as the pain of his wounded wrist shook through his whole body with every little step he made with his hands until finally, he reached the tray.
With shaky hands, the Prince of Roses opened the bread in half; eyes immediately watering as he had to prevent himself from letting out a cheerful and hopeful sob when he saw the piece of parchment hidden in the crumbs.
“Help is on the way. Let the true ruler of RoseWood be seen again - The Knights of Roses”

Y/N fell to her knees, hiding her face on a bucket as Calum held her hair place soothing movements onto her back with the palm of his hand. It was the third time today, the movement of the waves and the worry set on the pit of her stomach made everything fuzzy and revolving, making her throw up on an empty stomach.
“Love?” Calum asked, wincing as she started to cough through the tears “Y/N, it’s okay”
“It’s not okay, it’s disgusting” She cried, wiping her face with a cloth.
They were kneeling on the floor of their cabin on the Kaleidoscope, the same one they got when they were just arriving at the Crimson Islands. But what once was an exciting, frightening, and adventurous trip, has now turned mournful and dreadful as they made their way to The Vail’s coast.
Two days ago King Alex received a letter addressed to the Princess of Roses, sent by none other than King Luke Hemmings from The Vail, claiming that her brother had been captured and imprisoned by their father, who was now starting to prepare for a war to reclaim all Kingdoms to himself.
Y/N and Calum stood there in shock and tears as they read the letter over and over again, desperately wanting to make all of this just another bad dream. But the nightmare was not over, in fact, it seemed like it was just barely getting started.
King Alex gathered a small crew and together with the couple from RoseWood, wasted no time in preparing a trip to meet with the King of the Vail and his advisor, Sir Michael.
“We cannot let that madman win,” The King said “Say the word, Princess Y/N, and we’ll fight by your side. Anything you two may need, I will gladly provide. I am at your service, Your Highness”
And with that, the Princess and the Stable Lad ended up on the Kaleidoscope again with Captain Merrick; his crew; a few other soldiers; and a few volunteers. Ready to sail and get to The Vail where other rulers are gathering to decipher a plan of attack if Richard won’t back down.
But all this stress; worry; fear and sorrow was too much of a shock for Y/N and Calum even though they tried to hide it from each other. This was not a simple game of sneaking around in the woods, this was a life or death situation with Ashton’s life hanging on a thread if they don’t hurry, that is, if he’s still alive.
“Do you want me to get you anything?” Calum asked once her breathing had calmed down, softly rubbing her back.
“A glass of scotch could be nice” She grumbled, getting up with Calum’s help as she sat back on the bed.
“Are you sure you’re allowed to drink?” Her husband asked carefully, sitting beside her as he held her hand.
Y/N furrowed her brows at him, trying to decipher the meaning behind the gleam in his eyes until it finally hit her.
“I’m not with child, Calum”
“How do you know?” He shrugged, placing a hand on Y/N’s stomach “You were not sick on our first trip to the Isles. And the Maester said-”
“The Maester doesn’t have a uterus,” She shook her head with a glimpse of a smile drawing in her lips “And even so, I know my body. It is not time yet, love. And, dare I say, if my father manages to win… it might never be”
Calum pressed his lips in a thin line, nodding at her words as he moved his hand from her stomach to cradle her hand once more.
“The time will come,” He smiled softly at her “Whenever you’re ready, and probably in years to come, it will be perfect. But, as of right now, my rose, I don’t think a glass of scotch is going to do you any favors”
She rolled her eyes lovingly at him, smiling as she said “How do you know? You’re not a healer”
“Nope, but I’m a guy whose friends would drink themselves to death and ended up exactly where you are right now” He chuckled, getting up from the bed and placing a soft kiss on her forehead “And I’m a husband who wants to take care of his wife, not make her sicker”
“Sometimes I hate that you’re a good husband” She pouted
“I can live with that,” He smiled, caressing her face with the back of his hand. “I’ll get you a beverage, though. I know Zach keeps some for the crew that get seasick”
“I love you,” She said through a sigh “Wish I could kiss you”
“Well…”
“Don’t even think about it, Hood. Get me the beverage and some mint leaves with lemon first”
Calum chuckled, “As you wish”
The stable lad exited the room with a faint smile that quickly disappeared when he closed the door. He hated seeing Y/N sick and he knew that the waves were just an added factor to all the turmoil she must be going through. He knows his wife; he knows she’s hiding all the pain she’s not allowing herself to feel. And he also knows that the stubbornness of his princess is strong and she would never admit it.
It’s all his fault, he thought as he walked towards the main cabin. He couldn't help but feel that he took part in sealing Ashton’s fate even though there was nothing they could’ve done at the moment. They needed to keep Y/N safe, no matter the cost. But why should Ashton pay for the crimes Calum committed by loving her? It should’ve been him the one sitting in the cell, not the only family Y/N has left; not the only family that loved her.
She’s already lost so much; her homeland, her mother, and now Ashton… She didn’t deserve any of it and Calum was more than determined to help her bring him back, no matter what it takes. They will not let Richard win.
He walked up to the deck, already making plans inside his head to let the guilt die down for a second as he concentrated on getting Y/N’s health back to normal when his pace was cut short by someone who purposely stood in front of him.
“Good morning, my Lord. Won’t you say we’re having such a splendid morning, today?”
There was something on Jack’s smile that made Calum want to punch it, something mocking yet sinister that hid something that he just couldn’t figure out.
At first, they couldn’t believe he volunteered for the trip, having just got to the Isles and finding a role in the court. He seemed too eager to go back to the Vail and help them defeat the King of RoseWood, saying it would be an honor to serve the Princess on whatever she would need. And even Y/N had to admit that was a bit off, but they needed all the help they could get.
Still, Calum did not trust him. And after he told Y/N about what happened back on the training grounds of the palace, she also started to distrust the man going by Jefferson. So his presence here brought more questions than reassurances.
“How’s the Princess doing?” Jack, also known as Sir Jefferson, asked; leaning over one of the masts with a glint in his eyes as he looked up and down Calum’s body.
Calum didn’t even try to hide his feelings towards him anymore as his hard, brown eyes stared at him with annoyance.
“My wife’s health is none of your business, Sir. Now, if you’ll excuse me”
But at the same time he took a step forward, so did Jack.
“Ouch,” He said ironically, “Thought you would be more thankful, my Lord. After all, isn’t your brother-in-law we are talking about here?”
Calum bluntly ignored him as he walked past the crow, bumping his shoulders as he did. Jack smirk, for his plan of railing up the stable lad, was working and he was also having fun with it, making it a personal challenge so for when the time comes to let all the truth come to shove, at least the fighting will be interesting. So he followed him.
“Who would’ve thought it would come to this?” He said, walking alongside Calum “A mad King, a Prince held hostage… Only, that’s all we know. Maybe things at RoseWood are more interesting”
Calum ignored him, pushing through the crowded deck to get to the Captain’s cabin. Jack’s voice became white noise as he tried to get the medicine he needed and then go back to his wife waiting for him at the other side of the ship. But then…
“Think of how this would’ve never happened if you never left. Or maybe things are finally working out for you”
Jack smirked at the way the stable lad stopped in the middle of his tracks, but quickly hid it the moment he turned around as the crow greeted him with a faux-innocent look of concern.
“Is everything alri-”
“What did you just say?”
Calum was fuming. The hair on the back of his neck rose in anger as a chill ran down his back when he heard those words. His fists were clenched to the sides, knuckles turning white from the grip as he dug his nails into his palms, reminding him to not lose his temper as they stood right at the entrance of the cabin’s hallway.
A shadow hid most of Jack’s face and Calum could swear he saw him smile for even just a second before his voice became soft as he said:
“I’m just saying that if you had stayed in RoseWood then maybe the Prince would not be in the dungeons, am I wrong for assuming that?” He said, furrowing his brows almost as if he didn’t understand why Calum could be mad about it “Royals can be tough, but you knew that before getting involved with the Princess, I assume. And then running away with her… Seemed like a poorly executed plan that started in chaos and, like most things, would probably end in chaos. Unless that’s the plan all along”
“What the fuck do you mean by that?”
Jack gasped, placing a hand over his heart as he blinked at Calum “That language, my Lord, very aggressive”
Calum grabbed the crow by the lapels of his clothing, pushing him against the wall.
“Cmon,” Calum said with his face only inches away from Jack’s “Say what you must, if you dare”
The crow let out a small, sarcastic laugh “Oh, my lord. Was I wrong to assume how this could benefit you? Don’t you think is a little suspicious? Father gets mad, you marry the daughter and then suddenly the prince disappears… Who gets the throne once it’s all said and done? Now that’s a story worth telling, don’t you think?”
Calums eyes filled with rage as he banged Jack’s head against the wooden walls, knowing that people might be watching. But he could not let go of that offense as if it was nothing. How could he think that he could do that to Ash? To Y/N?!
“You don’t know shit of what happened,” He said through gritted teeth “You don’t know what we went through, what she went through. You don’t know our story so don’t pretend like you do and start assuming on other people’s lives”
“Calm down, my friend,” Jack said, trying to defuse the tension. “Maybe I’m mistaken but I’m just saying what everyone else is thinking already”
“What?”
“Don’t tell me you haven’t thought about it, too? What does Y/N say about it?”
“What are you talking about?!” Calum demanded in hushed tones, gripping tightly onto Jack’s lapels and making him hit his head on the wooden wall behind him again, but the crow didn’t even flinch as a glimmer set in his eyes, sending chills down Calum’s spine.
“Oh, may the gods bless your foolish heart, Calum” The crow sympathized. “I knew Y/N would be too kind to let you borrow some of her burdens, but for you to be so clueless… Must be a blessing to walk around like that”
“Like what?” Calum was getting impatient.
“Like you didn’t cause all of this”
“My Lords? Is everything alright?” Captain Merrick’s voice came from the end of the hallway as he walked up to them.
Calum let go of Jack in an instant, too shocked by his words to say anything else as he looked at him with wide eyes and an expression that hid too many fears inside of it.
Jack, on the other hand, just smiled at the Captain “Everything’s fine, Captain. We were just having a friendly conversation, isn’t that right, Cal?” He patted Calum on the shoulder and walked away without saying anything else.
“My Lord?”
“I-I’m fine, Captain,” Calum said, blinking a couple of times to clear his thoughts “My- uh, My wife is feeling a little bit seasick, I was wondering if you could help me get her something to ease her stomach”
Zach smiled “Of course, my Lord! Come, I have exactly what she needs in my cabin”
Calum nodded, “Oh, and Zach?”
“Yes?”
“If you can,” He said, looking toward where the crow just disappeared “Don’t let that man go near our cabin nor near Y/N if I’m not there to stop him”
*
An echo passed through her ears as she stood in the empty hallway. How she got there, she didn’t know; but it all seemed so familiar, almost like a dream. Only she didn’t know if it was a nightmare.
The clanking of the chains could be faintly heard from miles away as the hallway seemed to have no end, blending into the darkness.
Y/N took in her surroundings, looking from left to right and finding not a soul that could tell her what was going on. The humidity of the walls started to cling to her skin, making it seem like her gown was becoming heavier and heavier the more time she spent standing on the cobblestoned floor.
Then, a small, faint light came from one of the rooms hidden in the hallway. A candlelight gleam illuminated her path of darkness as she felt compelled to it, feeling the need to follow it. So she did.
The closer she got to the light the more real things started to become. Y/N was starting to feel as if this was not a dream anymore, a memory perhaps? She could feel the warmth of the light gracing her cheeks with every step she could, and, if she paid enough attention, even the sound of laughter would brush her ears.
The laughs were heavy, grave and she guessed it must come from a group of men. They were laughing at something, yet she couldn’t see what just yet nor she could hear anything besides the laugh and a faint sound of a whip, thinking that maybe they were just messing with the horse’s equipment as the drunk guards used to do back at RoseWood; Calum always hated that but they were always nice enough to pay back whatever they might’ve broken.
Could she be back at the stables? Was her mind playing with a forgotten memory?
Still, the crackling of the whip grew louder and louder as well as the laughs that couldn’t hide it anymore. But that's all it was. A whip and laughter, nothing else. So why did her heart beat faster as she approached the slightly ajar door?
From the small crack, she witnessed a group of men dressed in black, a red rose embroidered in their chests as they carried the RoseWood symbol with pride. They were drunkenly laughing at something -or rather someone - that Y/N couldn’t see just yet. She examined the men’s faces and couldn’t recognize them as his father’s guards, they weren’t the guards from the woods nor any that you’ve met before.
Yet, they seemed to be having the time of their lives as one of them grabbed the leathered whip from the other’s hand, laughing as he swung it over his head until it crashed with a surface while the others started to count.
Trying to get a better view - or at least an idea of what was happening - Y/N pushed the door open just a crack, hoping none of the men realized as the wooden door squeaked against the cobblestone, luckily they were still entertained with what was happening at the other corner.
The first thing the Princess noticed once she got a clearer view was the blood. So much blood scattered around the room in little splashes, pooling down in the middle. She felt her whole body tremble, feeling sick just looking at it, remembering the last time she saw so much red when Calum was captured.
Still, she couldn’t look away. It was almost as if her eyes were glued to the gruesome scene, following a trail until it landed on a target.
Her eyes widened and filled with tears; a scream threatened to escape her throat as she covered her mouth with both her hands to silence it. Her knees started to buckle and she felt as if she could throw up all over again, completely horrified at what was in front of her.
With a manacle on each wrist, each hanging from opposite wooden pillars and keeping his arms open wide, unable to sit or to let his body fall from the physical trauma, stood Ashton with his back completely open and bloody.
In front of him stood a small, dirty mirror where Y/N could see how he could barely keep his eyes open anymore; biting on his lip with each crack of the whip, making him lean forward and letting the manacles cut his wrist when he did so. Still, he didn’t say a word as the guards kept counting and Y/N didn’t want to know how many rounds they got before she got there.
Ashton’s hair fell in front of his face, stuck in sweat and blood to his forehead as his face changed with every hit of pain, only adding to his anger.
“C’mon, lads!” One of the guards laughed “Gotta be a lot proper with the royals now, don’t we? Start the count again, and this time do it more… gently”
The guard stood up and handed his friend another leathered whip, the only difference was that this one held spikes at the end, making sure to cut through the skin at just a simple touch.
Y/N watched in horror at how her brother’s back arched as he bit down his tongue, barely even opening his eyes to glance at the small mirror hanging in front of him, and she could swear that just for a moment, his eyes met hers before receiving another blow.
Unable to stand it any longer, Y/N barged into the room, making all of the men stop what they were doing as they stared down at her with eyes filled with fear as the man threw the whip on the floor.
Without wasting a breath, she ran to Ashton’s side and stood in front of him, trying to wipe some of the blood out of his face. But before she could say anything, she noticed how her brother’s eyes changed and were now filled with rage directed at her.
“You did this,” He said through gritted teeth, spitting blood at Y/N’s cheek.
Shocked and scared, Y/N looked around the room and found it empty.
“What?” She asked out loud, looking over at Ashton who also disappeared in thin air.
Her breathing became elaborated as she searched the room, trying to find any evidence that someone was there. Yet, when she turned around all she could find was the mirror and a different set of eyes looking straight at her.
For in that moment, her reflection wasn’t hers; it was her father, looking back with a proud smirk at the monster she thought she was.
*
The sudden shake of the ship made her jolt awake, taking in her surroundings with wide-open eyes as she tried to remember the dream she just had.
Her mother used to say that dreams are made of people’s greatest desires and fears; they could come from a memory or a premonition of the future and should never be taken lightly, for a dream was just as important as a thought. Dreams are the thoughts we don’t dare to say out loud.
A chill ran down her spine as her father‘s eyes were engraved in her memory; so cruel, so proud… Was she like him in a way when she ran away, leaving the ones she loved behind? Taking the easy way out, would he have done the same?
The simple thought of that made her blood run cold. She was not cruel; she was not a monster. She did what she needed to do to survive and make sure that Calum was safe. She made the only choice she could make but, would everyone understand that? Or would they just see her as her father’s daughter?
The sheets shifted slightly as Y/N’s eyes finally landed on Calum, the only comfort she had. She ran a hand delicately through his shaved curls, thanking the gods that they allowed him to sleep peacefully at least for one night and that she didn’t wake him up with her nightmare. He’s been so restless lately, she just wished to share some of his grief with him. She already put him through a lot, he deserved some peace of mind and she wants nothing more than to be able to provide that for him; let them be just themselves like they were in the woods, away from all fears and terrors and villains… just two kids playing around with fairytales and horse rides, so in love and with nothing to fear.
After a while, it became obvious that Y/N couldn’t go back to sleep so easily. With a sigh, she got off the bed, kissed Calum’s temple as he started to lightly snore, and wrapped herself with her robe as she exited the cabin; looking for a distraction in the middle of the star-filled sea.
Y/N closed her eyes when the cold night breeze graced her face, making her hair fly as she walked barefoot through the deck. All members of the crew and the volunteers were sound asleep.
She got closer to the board, looking straight ahead at the vast sea as her fingers grip the wood of the rails. They were still a few days away from getting to The Vail and once they get there, they have to start their strategies, plan the trips, know how many people to take, embark on the journey… who know how long it’ll be till they reach RoseWood again, but they were determined to do so. She knows Luke and Michael won’t let her down and they’ll do everything they can to get Ashton back and her father out of the throne; she knows she could trust them.
“Can’t sleep, Your Highness?”
Y/N jumped at the sound of a voice coming from the shadows of the quarterdeck, placing a hand over her heart as she watched Sir Jefferson emerge from the dark corner, smiling kindly at her.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you, Princess” He apologized, raising his hands in defense.
“Maybe you should’ve thought about it before talking from the shadows” Y/N sighed, looking back at the sea “We never know if the person hiding there is a friend or a foe, Sir Jefferson”
“And where would you place me, Your Highness?” He asked, taking a step closer to her “Friend or foe?”
“Am I talking to the same man that hurt my husband in training? Then, I’m not sure”
“It was a friendly match,” Jack said, leaning over the board and placing his elbows on the wooden planks as he looked at the sea as well.
“A match is still a match. You were lucky it wasn’t a duel” Y/N rolled her eyes “Either way, I don’t particularly understand the need men have for violence. For practice and self-defense, I get it. But to draw blood from innocent people… Seems barbaric”
“It’s in our system,” He shrugged. “Men search for violence even when they claim peace. We all know our nature and how far we can go, trying to push it beyond those limits until we reach the glory at the end. Even the most compassionate of men could tell you about the temptations of power and blood, maybe by doing things they know it’s wrong just to have a little taste of what it feels like”
Y/N’s mind couldn’t help to wander over to Ashton again, on how he played a part in scattering crows around the kingdoms in order to favor their father. He said he didn’t know why, but he still went ahead and did it; and even though she believed him, she also wonders if he ever at least had a slight idea of what he was doing.
“And once a man gets a taste….” Jack continued, biting the inside of his cheek as he watched Y/N’s clouded eyes “It becomes part of him”
“That’s awful”
“But it’s true. We cannot escape who we are, no matter how much we try to run away from it. If it’s in our blood, then it’s fate’s design to follow it”
The crow noticed how, suddenly, Y/N’s eyes started to water as she hugged herself even tighter. And for a moment, just a slight moment as the moonlight graced her face, he felt pity for her.
“The sea is quiet tonight,” He said, changing the topic to spare the little Princess, at least for tonight.
“I don’t suppose it makes much noise anyway” She answered, quickly brushing away a stray tear that escaped her eye “It’s just water”
“Careful with your words, Princess” Jack smirked “Or they might hear”
“Who?”
“The mermaids”
Y/N furrowed her eyebrows “That’s a fairytale, Sir Jefferson”
“Only to those who refused to believe in them,” He said “My mother used to tell me these stories, about pirates and adventures, but her favorites were always about the women who hide in the deep ends of the ocean. The mermaids are the protectors of the seas. Some legends say that mermaids are women who’ve been thrown out of their ships as a sacrifice to the gods; others, that the creatures were created by the gods themselves as a punishment for those who wander without the purest of hearts. They seek vengeance and justice, luring people of all around the world with their voices and deceiving them as they make them fall in love with fake promises and lust, sinking them into the sea with them. And, once they’ve realized they can’t breathe anymore, that’s when they show their true form. It’s a lesson, I suppose”
“Of what?”
“Never trust the beauty unless you can see the soul behind the eyes,” Jack said seriously, looking at Y/N “There are horrible people out there, Princess, hiding in their pretty clothes and all their riches, thinking they know it all just because they have it all. But no one is sinless, they know what they did”
The wind blew strangely, whistling through the sails as Y/N took in his words. No one is pure of sins, but could they ever repent them? She wrapped herself tighter in her robe, watching the crow’s back attentively as his eyes wandered over to the water, humming to himself an old siren’s song.
“My heart is pierced by Cupid
I disdain all glittering gold
There is nothing can console me
But my jolly sailor bold”
His voice was deep and rough as he sunk into a memory, thinking about his mother and all that was taken from him for people like the King; they always have it all yet they don’t care about their people, going on about their lives celebrating meaningless accomplishments as their people die on the streets. If he could get some of that power; if he could make them pay… And he will, by the gods he will.
Jack became no one of many names throughout his life, fighting to be the best in everything he does so when the moment comes, everyone will scream out his name in glory and gore.
“It’s getting late, Princess,” He said after a while, turning his head toward her “You should go back to bed”
Y/N’s lips parted as she stared at him; his eyes held something deeper than just a memory, they were cold and somewhat cruel as he looked at her, but only for a second as his signature smile was back on his face in the blink of an eye, making her wonder if she’d just imagined the familiarity of that glare.
“We still have a long way to The Vail, and around this time of year their days tend to be longer, so there won’t be much resting once we get there” He smiled.
Y/N nodded “You seem to know a lot about The Vail, Sir Jefferson. Have you ever been there before?”
Jack nodded with a sigh as he pointed to the scar on his left eye “Fearless warriors, they say. I have to admit they were right”
“They are a peaceful Kingdom and have been for decades” The Princess questioned him “Their King is one of the kindest souls I know, and to my knowledge, they only use violence for training and nothing more since the wars are over. I still don’t understand how you managed to get that scar on a Kingdom with people like that”
“Well, appearances can be deceiving, Your Highness. You just never know who to trust” Jack said gravely, gracing his eyes to the floor before looking up at her again “But that might be a story for another day, you should get some sleep”
“I don’t think I can, really,” Said the Princess “But that shouldn’t keep you up, my Lord. I’ll be fine”
Truth was, Y/N was still pretty shaken from her nightmare and the words from Sir Jefferson, feeling a sense of warning running through her mind. For some reason, she didn’t feel safe and was relieved when Jack seemed to understand and nod.
“Perhaps I have something that could help you, Princess,” He said, reaching into one of the pockets of his jacket and pulling out a folded handkerchief “I always carry some with me, just in case”
Jack opened the small piece of fabric revealing a couple of dry leaves on it.
“It helps you sleep,” He said with a smile “You just have to put them in water, cold or hot, and drink it after ten minutes. Works like a charm, or at least that’s what my mother used to say and I never found any fails to that logic”
Y/N smiled kindly, taking a couple of leaves in her hands as she looked at them, furrowing her brows just slightly.
“Are you certain this would help?”
“Extremely”
She nodded, “Thank you, Bernard”
He smiled at her one last time before she turned around and hurried to her cabin once again, speeding up the pace once she was out of sight from the decks, opening up the heavy wooden door and locking it instantly as her breathing became heavy and beams of sweat started to cover her face.
With heavy hands, she went to the small desk in the room, sitting in the chair and lighting up the candle; wasting no time in grabbing a leaf and burning it.
From the moment she saw them she knew what they were, she remembers seeing them in one of the Maester’s lessons.
“This is called La Torture De Méduse, an ancient poisonous leaf that causes a complete body paralysis, starting from the legs, then the torso and the arms, and lastly, the brain and the rest of the organs. All without the victim knowing since it makes the poor soul who ingested it fall into a deep slumber as their bodies die slowly. One can literally become stone, hence the name of this vile creation of the gods. Luckily, it is easy to identify if you notice the little green dots on the petiole and midrib. Do not ever go near them and if you do…”
Destroy them.
And that’s exactly what Y/N was doing as she watched the second leaf burn into ashes. Her mind was running a thousand kilometers per hour, trying to find an excuse for Sir Jefferson who so kindly and so naively, gave the leaves to her. He said that it helped him sleep, but these could not be the same leaves he talked about. If he ever drank the beverage created with them, then he should be dead already.
Unless he knew exactly what he did by giving her the leaves, expecting to receive the news of her untimely death the next morning when Calum finds her cold next to him. But why would he do that to her? They barely know one another and she has done nothing to wrong him. Nothing made any sense...
“Rose?” Calum’s voice alerted Y/N as she pulled the leaf away from the fire, letting it fall with the remaining others onto the desk “What are you doing, my love?”
She hesitated to answer. She couldn’t lie to him, but at the same time, she didn’t want to accuse an innocent until she got further proof of his wrongdoings, afraid she’ll become like her father.
If she tells Calum about the leaves and what they do, he will kill Jack with no hesitation and he’ll be sent to trial again, only this time he might serve time for real or worse: he’d be sentenced for murder. The law does not care if it was in self-defense, as far as the court will know, Jack never intended to hurt the Princess and it might’ve been just an honest mistake. And Y/N was not ready to lose Calum again.
“I couldn’t sleep,” She tells him a half-truth, leaving what happened with Jack aside “Thought I could use some air and then I came back here”
Calum rolled to his side, watching her with sad, understanding eyes “I know how difficult this must be for you, my rose. And I wish I could take some of that pain away from your eyes and hide it somewhere where you’ll never see or feel it again in your life. But all I can offer you is the promise that I’ll be here through it all with you, my love, we’ll be home soon”
“You’re my home, Cal,” She said “You’ve always been my home”
“Then come back to bed and let me hold you,” He said softly “Let us fight these nights together and share our mornings hand in hand. You’re not alone in this, my rose”
“And neither are you”
He beckoned her with his head and she smiled softly at him, turning around to blow out the candle and hide the remaining leaves on the pocket of her stash without him noticing it, promising herself to get to the bottom of it soon.
Calum wrapped his arms around her waist as he pulled her close, kissing her forehead as she laid on his chest with her head tucked under his chin.
“You’re the strongest person I know, Y/N” He whispered against her hair as his fingers drew figures on her back.
“Only because I have you with me,” She answered, kissing the side of his neck “I love you, Cal. Please, never leave me”
“Not in this life or the next, my love” He replied, drifting to sleep again with her chest pressed against his “Not in this life or the next”
